For a prefab hull this little cog turned out really well. The dark brown hull and red sail make her look dangerous and she packs a punch with all those cannons. The stern looks great too - nice and smooth, good use of space - even though I'm not a big fan of high sterns. And the shiny round things - yep, more than one way to be a pirate. Good work.

Interesting little vessel. The colors don't really do it for me, but of course you were matching them to that imaginative figurehead (and tail!) Very unique creation. Keep it up. Edit: approved

[COR-FB1] An ominous discovery
Captain Dee replied to Brickwolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice job with the beach; it looks properly realistic sloping up like that and the washed-up vegetation is fine. Pity the poor soul, whoever he is. More to the story I assume? Keep it up. -
This is a nice vessel and I'm picking up hints of the first IFS. Yep, she looks properly Eslandolan in those colors. I see you have some rigging advice already, but I think it turned out pretty good overall. Good work. Approved!

Nice house. I like the combination of colors and the first pic really shows it well. The difference between the floors is neat but the top floor does seem a little empty. Good work overall.

This is a unique intro. Fleshies, Oriental flair, and some colorful decorated parts - quite a bit different than my own taste, but there's room for variety! Welcome to BoBS.

[ESL-CH2B] Battle of Nelissa
Captain Dee replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Ah. It just piqued my curiosity. Your crew must've been at peak performance to sink the enemy before they could even fly their flag. Any more photos? I'd like a peek at the back of the island.- 22 replies

[ESL-CH2B] Battle of Nelissa
Captain Dee replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Beautiful micro build Captain. The ships look good and I like the way you built the rigging. And the island is fantastic. Do you consider the rocky peak to be an inactive volcano or just a rocky peak? Good work.- 22 replies

[SR - FB5] The Shanty by the Sea
Captain Dee replied to Vedauwoo's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The shanty looks great by itself - nice and smooth, good design, lovely palm fronds - but the combined arrangement is excellent. The connecting bridge is nice too. This is a good way to get multiple builds from an idea. I like the water technique and the sandbar looks good. How big is the base, either seperate or altogether? Good work. Approved! -
[SR - FB4] A beacon in the night.....
Captain Dee replied to Vedauwoo's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very good lighthouse. It looks just about perfect for that time period and the heavy use of brown/wood looks great. I like the tower design and the winding staircase. Overall it's a very pleasing arrangement. Approved! -
[COR-FB1 Mar]The First Supper
Captain Dee replied to CelesAurivern's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Good one. That's a fine lookin' collection of... food. But it is almost lunchtime, and after seeing this feast I'm really getting hungry. That edited background kinda gives it a dreamy look...- 6 replies

[ES-FB1] the de la Calle departure
Captain Dee replied to Phadeout's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Good story and nice collection of builds. I really like the decorative gold wings for some reason. This is a promising start. Keep it up. -
This is a neat design. With that towering aftcastle, raising the forecastle and changing the rigging would turn her into a historic carrack or nau. I really like the white/dark red colorscheme and the stern gallery is nice. Keep it up. Approved.

[COR-FB5] The Valkyrie of Corrington
Captain Dee replied to CelesAurivern's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice cutter. The first and third pics really show her well. Using the official faction colorscheme is nice and the rigging looks pretty good. She's a fine addition to the fleet. Edit: Approved! -
[COR - FB1 mar] Quinnsville Village Square
Captain Dee replied to Tomsche's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
That's a neat little square. The fountain is nice and it looks like a relaxing setting. The tree adds quite a bit to the scene as well. -
[SR-FB2 Feb] Even A Pirate Has a Sweet Tooth
Captain Dee replied to MKJoshA's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
This is another good version of sugar cane. I like the irregular base and varying colors and textures, and the scythe/sickle is pretty good. My observation as a farmer is that most plants are mostly green until they flower/pollinate and then turn tan/brown from the bottom up as they mature. Sugar cane does this, so we could assume these are young plants. But then the scythe wouldn't be necessary... Overall this is pretty good but also pretty small. Does it cover enough area for the small license? -
Beautiful little scene. I like the angled rows, the curved fence, and all the other colorful details. Excellent job with the plants and ground texturing. This is indeed a unique take on a plantation and it turned out very well. Approved!

[Cor - Feb FB3] The Crossed Swords Tavern
Captain Dee replied to BrickOn's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Interesting tavern. I like the concept of the ship-hull roof but it looks a little bulky in this case. The rest of the structure is pretty good, and the interior is detailed nicely. Good collection of minifigs and the added chandelier makes a big difference. Keep it up. Edit: Approved! -
Maxim, I realized you'd suddenly gone quiet and thought, "He must be indexing..." Good job with that index. I for one am not surprised by the number of ships considering the number of people involved by now.

That is a really cool little model. I'd probably buy it if it was a set and priced right. Good work.

The Empire of Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion
Captain Dee replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Considering all the work he's put into this, we can surely name something after Ska. Your ideas are a good start to the conversation. I hear you about commenting. It's this whole end-of-month rush to post things that makes it difficult to keep up with what's happening. I'm going to start calling it "crowd posting" and petition the Corrington courts to hereby and hereafter declare it a minor misdemeanor in all lands owned by the nation of Corrington punishable by 50% fee ("tardy tax") on all values associated wherewith. :pir-laugh:- 897 replies

Hey, that's pretty neat. The scene is nicely done and the story is a good one. It's good to see you building again.

[OL - FB6] The 'Zephyr'
Captain Dee replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Snow?? Where?? Good one... Simply beautiful once more. The curved shape, colors and rigging all look excellent. The stern in particular is lovely. And you consider this to be "just" a lowly merchant vessel? Excellent work. Approved! -
Breshaun Powder Mill [OL-FB2]
Captain Dee replied to The Sarge's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Uh... this is Oleon we're talking about here. That pretty much guarantees they'll accidentally blow the place to smithereens. I'm selling tickets to watch it happen; BYOB (or rum or wine or whatever). Okay, enough nonsense. A powder mill is an excellent idea and I like the overall look of the building. White is a beautiful exterior color and the details of the wall are nice. And of course I like the roof technique. Waterwheels intrigue me. I don't think I've seen that design before, and I can't quite tell how you did it. Any chance of a close-up pic? It does seem small though, especially considering the size of the building and the fact that it's an undercurrent design. I have a couple waiting to be featured that are a completely different design concept, and it's interesting to see all the different ways of building them. Good work and keep it up.
