Worm gears
Jurss replied to benredstar's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is new part. Comes in some 2017. sets. Cheapest 42060: Roadwork Crew Anyway, to push something, also friction of that won't be enough. You will still need some stoppers at each end. Also they are needed anyway to hold axle, on which You will mount that gear. -
Technic find
Jurss replied to aminnich's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
He asked 50EUR, I offered 40EUR. He agreed. This offer was staying there (something like lokal ebay) for some 2 weeks allready. So, I think good deal for both -
If working with bricklink, first add everything to wishlist - parts and needed amount. Then from that wishlist You can search for stores, which offer everything what You need, or if there won't be such store, it will show what there is from that You need. So, maybe, You wil have to buy from more than one store. But those additional parts seems not so rare or that like, and they could be all in one store.

Jurss replied to aminnich's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Just bought this for 40 EUR It's not very cheap, but OK. In fact I wanted only those narrow wheels from bucket truck, but I got also older big turntable, which I still didn't had. need to sort out what really is in that pile of parts ... maybe there will something interesting also. I see from picture (I'm at work, so can't sort now ...) that there is which for me will bet also good find. -
[WIP] Ikarus 280 Articulated Bus
Jurss replied to josszo's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
In Latvia we had these only in yellow. Not so interesting color scheme. Some intercity (other model) was in red and white. Was they in Hungary really with pneumatic suspension for rising, lowering, leaning etc? Or is just functiinality, which You want to put in the model? -
fidget spinner
Jurss replied to 9 fingers's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I understand this. One of daughters scoolmates allready made his own and even put in to production :) But if cheapest cost some 3-5EUR, then I will allow my son to buy it for his own money. There where also lot of almost useless thing in my childhood, which we wanted and also bought, and then after some two days forgot about them. And there will be such things always. -

[MOC] Old Styled Race Car
Jurss replied to Alex Ilea's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I would rebuild rear suspension, put then normal engine begind seat, over the gearbox. Connection from HOG to steering is also "interesting". Wasn't it really posiible to put some straight axle under the seat?- 40 replies

[REVIEW] 42024 - Container Truck
Jurss replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Bought ir allready last year in one local shop for good price (discount as for old set). Bought it mainly for parts. Built it just last week. I enjoyed pretty much to build it. Jim wrote, that there was nothing such interesting in build, but I someheow enjoyed building process, not less than some Class, Arocs etc. This model is mainly made somehow functional, nots so much like display thing. Cabin is simple, there could be some more liftarms, filling empty spaces especially on sides. Now need to disassamble and build B-model. -
fidget spinner
Jurss replied to 9 fingers's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm allready tired, my son asks all the time for this thing. I told him, to build it from lego. He does not build it. I suggested to use smallest turntables, more like brick version. At the end I will have to do it, or just buy -

What type of steering is used now? There's no most sexy picture of the car , so it's not possible to see. Maybe this kind of sttering could help http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/116687-moc-small-supercar/&do=findComment&comment=2377998 -
[MOC] BMW motorrad
Jurss replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Somehow it was enough for runner-up. https://www.lego.com/en-us/rebrick/contest-page/contests/technic-bmw -
Somehow I didn't saw it at contest entrys. I just don't remember this one. This is one of the best looking for that contest. I also like, that it is still motorcycle, not some probable flying or levitating thing. So, are winners allready announced?! It was planned on 26.05. Yes, I see, that allready are anounced. I think, that Your's is better than some of the runner-ups.

Starter Technic Sets for Kids
Jurss replied to ExcelsiorUK's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Construction crew would be nice set to play with later. Maybe it won't be so esay to buy ir yet. It wont be in some store, Ypu will have to use beicklink or ether similar. From 2017 sets 42060: Roadwork Crew or 42062: Container Yard or even 42065: RC Tracked Racer for real fun At 8 years my son built https://brickset.com/sets/42029-1/Customised-Pick-Up-Truck with some very little corrections from my side. So maybe it is also better, that You as a father can help him at some places, so that You make some time together. -

Second version looks better, but proportionaly it's just too wide. But then maybe there wont be space to fit all motors, battery etc. -
