Invictus V12 Supercar
Jurss replied to offroadcreations's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
They are the same width, but with bigger diameter, higher. Not awesome, but really good car. I would try to fill more the front part, I don't like such a big holes. -

Didn't knew that this had also 6x6 version. 4x4 was enough for everything. Pretty recognizable anyway. For what are those linear actuators used in front suspension? Just as some kind of connections for suspension? -
[MOC] Jeep Wrangler
Jurss replied to Madoca 1977's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice! But those axles. I see that thing pretty often in other (from different builders) MOCs. -
I also didn't bought them for purpose, they just appeared with new sets. I also keep them in ziplock bags. Most of the liftarms are also kept the same way, because I just don't have special lego room just table with to boxes with drawers for smaller parts and then 2 big boxes with bigger things. like tyres, liftarms, panels.

Don't put it away so soon. My best MOC until now is made with 3 attempts, starting to build, then disassembling, then restarting at some point. It took me together some 1,5 year, I even chaged the scale. So, don't give up.

42056 one year (and a bit) later
Jurss replied to allanp's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I still don't own this set, but I'm still considering to buy it, because it is that thing, that You just want it, and don't know exactly why. And if we look at this topic, with 30 pages then maybe it is win form Lego side, because we had so much to talk about, so much to improve. It wont be interesting for us AFOL, that we build set, and couldn't find anything to improve. It would be just another set then. And in this topic we talking again about it, so ... -

It is better, that front side part, espacially, but this triangle, especiaaly form this point, doesn't look good there's something missing. Maybe try to fill it with bigger lights. Don't take it personally or something like this, it is just my view. Just noticed, wouldn't be better to put those 2x5 panels upsdie down at the front spoiler, on the sides. And even get rid somehow of that 5l liftarm, or move it deeper. -
Maybe I just found solution for my small house ... I could use this kind of thing. I wont spend that much money, but I could find or build something similar. When building, I could put close to desk etc. When not building, put in some corner. But I'm just thinking - what a pain it would be, if it falls.

[MOC] METER - rebrick.com superbots
Jurss replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Of course, it is not Class 1 accuracy, but i calculated the distance for one turn of the wheel, then made necessary gearing, so that first indicator makes one turn, when wheel makes 10cm distance (this class wheel has circumference close to 30cm, so I need 1:3 gear ratio). All others have downgear 1:10 . 1:10 is combined, and they are discrete indicators, nonlinear. First is linear.- 12 replies

Try to find better apshalt, or even concrete track. This seems pretty "rocky". For car it is OK, not for Lego speedster.

[MOC] METER - rebrick.com superbots
Jurss replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Reversing mechanisms is really simple. Front bumper is directly connected to battery switches. When it is needed to measure, bumper is extended, so the switches are in one position, when the METER hits some obstacle, bumper is hit and compressed, then battery switches switch to other side, and also polarity is switched, so the motors are turning now in other direction. There is no gearbox. All green marked part is switch- 12 replies

Lot of mass seems behind of wheels, which will impact stability, grip not the good way. Also it will pop up the front, when starting.

[MOC] METER - rebrick.com superbots
Jurss replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I named it METER - because it measures distance and it is one meter long. Final version of counting mechanism It has 4wheel drive From here (from one yellow gear to two gears - 1st to front wheels, 2nd to counting mechanism) (very long axle between) to front Easy access to batteries. Between them it is possible to see coupling (also part from long axle to front) to switches from front bumper, which reverses the whole thing, when it hits some obstacle. Front bumper most extended Here it is possible to mechanism (black gears), which makes connection to counting mechanisms, when robot goes forward and needs to count distance. When it goes backward, counting mechanisms is disconnected, and it does count the distance. On top of it is dial made from paper (rebrickadmin approved), to read distance. To make it form LEGO - it is almost impossible at this scale And METER in action- 12 replies

[MOC] Ram 1500
Jurss replied to BrickbyBrickTechnic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
When I'm building, I'm trying not to leave gaps at all, if it's not planned or needed by design. As it is floor, then I would try to make it closed as possible. Looking at Your other builds, You have done better. -

Jurss replied to BrickbyBrickTechnic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I like the overall looks, but ... :) Lot of 3L pins used, but not full lenght, so part of them in lot of places popping out. I just don't like it. Yes, whem building, I have them also, but then I clean up, un put 2l pins where needed. Also this gap And yes, also that reciever. Car ir pretty big, it shoud be possible to place reciever and battery better. -

Great MOC. ... but, somehow that area around (up from) front light should be improved, by my opinion.
