Best way to make a fifth wheel
Dafgek81 replied to jus1973's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Already mentioned it a few posts ago -
Would love to see what you come up with. Zblj has offered to make a digital version. But if you want to build one go ahead, will be following the progress then. Rigid hose

Are they as sturdy as the ones from TLG? Don't like floppy tubes on my truck -

2LegoOrNot2Lego uses a nice functional one on his models. -
Rigid hose
Dafgek81 replied to Dafgek81's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes, I know that site. But those hoses are very expensive and mostly to short in the colour I need, white. Maybe there is an alternative for them. -
That's nice, but I can not build such a beautiful thing from scratch, I wish I had the skills. I can build a lot with instructions, even if there are flaws in them, but from scratch, no chance. Maybe only in minfig scale, but P.F. and RC, ain't happening in this lifetime. When I'm building with instructions, I can see wy things are done in a certain way and I do understand how a construction is made, but doing it from an idea in my head just ain't working, just can't see it in front off me so I can build it with my hands. I can build mods, but not so much with liftarms and connectors, more successful with beams and bricks. Currently building Sandman's Actros 4150K, buy in blue with a white crane. Are flaws in the instructions and they are incomplete, but so far I am seceding in building I so far, only thing keeping me back is lack off funds, what translates in lack off parts, need about 660 off them still. Hope to finish it before the summer. So that is Wy I ask someone else to design it, so I can build it.

Efferman's Custom Parts

Now these are handy parts!!!! Love 'm -
Does anyone know where I can buy rigid hose/pipe in Holland? The ones from TLG are 3,2mm outer diameter, a hard kind to get. Does Lego make them still? And do they still come in white to?

I would love to see a very nice model off the CaseIH 580, the new 2016 model. I have seen a few of this type tractor on Brickshelf, the one CBT made looks very nice. I ain't a good constructor, so building one from scratch won't happen. So is there anyone out there who would want to build one, even if only virtual and make instructions for it also? Would like to have it RC with as many functions as possible. Also with realistic suspension. Would anyone care to help me?

Good make the socket face downward? Turn it counter clockwise a quarter the opening at the opposite side from the open side of the pin So that it looks like a trophy cup. So that the towball can be stuck in from below and when I connect the pin into the connector from the crane, the hook hangs under the connector. How are the clamshell buckets coming along, love to see where you come up with. -

Efferman's Custom Parts
Dafgek81 replied to efferman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello Michael, I want to ask if you can help me with a new part. I am looking for a counterpart for hook 30395, it has a towball at on end. Could you design a counterpart? Something like 6628 or 2736, but with a towball socket instead of the towball?? -
This tells me to wait buying them till all the errors are fixed, will not pay for instructions that much if they aren't a 100% correct. Hope the person who made them will fix them, then I'll gladly pay €15,- for them.

Hook question
Dafgek81 replied to Dafgek81's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello Saberwing40k, Thanks for the explanation. But I don't like the hook on 8258, just to bulky. I think I'll tinker the "cam" option from dr. Spock to fit it without a cord. -
Hook question

Sorry if it sounds a bit stupid, but how do I post a deeplink? I ain't such a computer expert. Is that a link to a certain picture itself instead of putting one to a folder? Thanks for the options by the way. -
Hook question
Dafgek81 replied to Dafgek81's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Sorry about the facebook link, but don't have a Flickr account. And Brickshelf takes a few days to get public. Below is a link on Brickshelf off the original by Sandman. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=618390 It's not a very good picture to see the connection for the clamshell buckets, but there isn't a better one and my crane isn't finished yet. I do not want to use a winch, is not very realistic on such a small crane. Don't want to use it for very heavy lifting but that part dr. Spock showed isn't what I am looking for. But thanks for the suggestion. -
Hello folks, Got a question about the hook 30395, which is used on the 8110 Unimog. I would like to use it as the lifting hook on the crane on my Actros. It should be placed at the end off the crane when the bucket is not attached. But how can I do this. Below is a link to a photo where you might see where the bucket construction is attached. It is held by a 2x2 plate with a pin at the bottem https://m.facebook.com/?_rdr#!/photo.php?fbid=954616017900086&id=100000550908134&set=a.954560894572265.1073741857.100000550908134&source=56&ref=bookmarks On what part can I attach the hook there?

One word WOW -
The only thing I saw in the vid I didn't like was the wobbly hitch/drawbar (don't exactly know how it's called in English)
