I bought almost all of my pieces from german BL shops (because of shipping costs). Maybe I could save a few bucks here and there, but I don't think it'll be that much. I was kinda surprised as well. :)

I just finished bricklinking Town Hall and Fire Brigade (haven't assembled them yet, though) including all minifigs and the original building instructions. No replacements. Overall the price was pretty much the same as buying current MISB sets (700,00€ total including shipping costs). I did get a few more spare parts though (around 400 maybe) because of the necessity to reach the minimum buy at some BL stores. So you could say it's slightly cheaper (you don't get the box though).

That facade looks great!

Charming build!

Thats a nice little diner with pretty much nothing to complain about. I would probably add anotger red trim line to the upmost row of bricks on the roof though.

I can only repeat what everyone said: Words can't describe this. I'm happy I am not building LOTR MOCs because after seeing this I'd immediately stop. :)

I hope this is going to be successful and spreads out around the globe. Would be absolutely great to have a few bins where we could vote on the content! :) -
LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
peedeejay replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
It would already be helpful if instructions were generated into a direction like "bottom up". Generating an instruction for a 4k+ modular buildings results in something which is built from the inside to the outside... Well I'd still go the way to MLCad and LPub anyway I guess. I would like to see: 1) 4 view interface to display a model from the front, bottom, top, etc (pretty much like any real CAD program offers 2) groups in groups 3) repaint for multi selection 4) mirror tool 5) performance optimizations for large models 6) possibility to directly place something which does not connect (e.g. a minifig standing on a tiled floor) -
