The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
BaneShake replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Welcome aboard! I personally don't consider the Dimensions sets as this theme, since Lego has made the two fairly distinct in branding. I think Batgirl may have an alternate face, though, and of course Knight Batman is only through Dimensions and not the "normal" line, so I picked them up anyway. I guess it depends on how completionist you are dying to be. I love how gaudy the money suit Batman is. And, like I have done with all of the other deliciously gaudy suits from this theme, it's gonna get Jokered! I think I now have more costume variants for Joker than Suicide Squad did! -

I felt like we'd be getting that bunny suit as a real fig! Now I just have to make sure and get this on the arbitrary week it becomes available! -
They're very mixed. Really strong highs and really bad lows. Bad: Anakin's acting, particularly Clones; unnecessary kidification, in particular he-who-must-not-be-life-debted and the bizarre comic-reliefiness of the battle droids as the trilogy went on; CGI woes, as many of the movies of the day now show, and really dumb moves on part of characters who should all be so much smarter; forced connections to the OT that had no place (Chewbacca), which is admittedly a problem the new movies have still demonstrated. Good: So many fan-favorite characters: Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, General Grievous, Darth Maul; intense and well-choreographed lightsaber duels; memes galore; Palpatine's entire sith monologue; Ewan McGregor's perfect Obi-Wan performance (if he doesn't get to come back and play him again I will consider it a war crime).

Replaying Alien: Isolation on Hard mode for the hard trophy. Not the hardest "nightmare" mode, though, because that mode is too much man for me. The most noticeable difference is the Working Joes, who can now take somewhere around 8 revolver rounds to the head (assuming I actually hit them, mind you), two shotgun rounds plus a revolver round (also to their stupid robotic noggins), and melee is basically useless against them now. I don't know if the occasional humans are any tougher, as I'm trying again to not kill any people for a different trophy (I accidentally killed ONE my normal playthrough), and the Alien itself is probably harder as well, although since I've played it before, I'm also better at tricks to circumvent death-by-inner-jaw.

Isaac Clarke, from Dead Space. Don't get me wrong, it's never gonna happen. -

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
BaneShake replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
They are legends, and there's no doubt about the art being very well done. Just a minor inconsistency. And Batman Forever's more of a pinkish, with animal printing, rather than the darker purple. Thankfully Lego has never tried to adapt that monstrosity. B:TAS was blue-faced Two-Face, similar to the original '06 fig. -

That classic look was definitely the one they adapted last time, although with a purple face instead of green, for whatever reason. Interestingly enough, if that art is from the story that introduced Tim Drake, there's an inconsistency between artists as the issues change; in some of them, he's got that casual jacket and turtleneck seen here, but in the others, it's a proper full-suit look with no reason for him to have changed. -
The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

The Bat vehicle seems likely; I just hope it's not too big, for the sake of the rest of the set. I could definitely see some sort of passage or nod to one, like a moving bookshelf or the grandfather clock somewhere. -
The more dog pieces, the better! I'd like to see a few animals come out of it; a flying owl variation would be cool!

Do I like raptors? Well, I'd put the JP raptors as my second favorite movie monster, right behind the Xenomorph, so yes! Next year does seem to be pointing as IP heavy, but seeing as they all seem to be huge moneymakers, it doesn't surprise me. JW will probably only have one wave, like last time, so it shouldn't stay as heavy once that's said and done. Personally, I don't mind, as a huge pop culture aficionado, but there are certainly some non-licensed themes that deserve another go-around, like Adventurers with Johnny Thunder or a new Space Police.

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation

This topic went to dark places since my last post. I love it! -
I'll third that. I'd love to see a small wave of Elseworlds-styled sets, since DC has such cool Elseworlds potential. Here's what I'd propose: The small, $13ish set could be a '30s Monster Movie-styled mad science lab for Lex Luthor, in mad-sciency attire and Superman in a Golden-Age inspired costume, and either a Bizarro or a metal-skull-appearance Brainiac on a Frankenstein-ish creation table. The $20 set could be pirate themed, with Aquaman looking fairly nineties with a full beard, a hook hand, and being mostly bare-chested; Green Arrow, in green but looking somewhat shipwrecked as a continuity nod, and Ocean Master on a small ship build with "organic fish"-type details like fins or kelp. The mid-ranged set could be a steampunk Batmobile for Batman and Cyborg, with lots of copper-looking pieces and whatnot, chasing down Joker and Harley in a horse-carriage. All the figures would be heavily stylized, of course, with Batman having the swim-goggles piece reused in altered colors, Cyborg being primarily black-and-copper colored instead of silver, and preferably some big ol' goggles printed on one side of Harley's head and a bowler cap for Joker. The biggest set could be a Mad Max-esque car chase, with post-apoc Flash and Wonder Woman going after several villains in outlandish and spiky vehicles. Several villains could work, such as Captain Cold, Doctor Poison, Gorilla Grodd, or even Ares, and I'd say two-three villain vehicles of varying sizes would be ideal.

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation

Personally, I'd like to see a set based on everyone in Atrocitus's sector getting genocided by the Manhunters. Think of the play features! -
There were several figures who would be nice as a redo/first appearance. I'd like to see Fleur in the blue robes/hat appearance and a new Mad-Eye Moody, for example.

I feel like Harry Potter is going to keep being the theme that gets released in several waves every few years, based on precedent.

If the alleged CMF series doesn't give baby Harry as an accessory to a Voldemort figure, I will be severely disappointed.

With the Injustice 2 fighter pack revealed, I decided to watch Hellboy for the first time. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

Agreed. It is amazing just how far the theme has come along; I was worried it would be like most, and have two-three years, and it's become a juggernaut theme alongside the like of Star Wars and Ninjago! -
Heh. These movies are so dark for Juniors. Not that I mind, more dinosaurs! I would love to see the raptors actually at minifigure scale this time around. While the mold we have is nice, it's waaaay to big. Movie raptors stand around 6ft, give or take, so minifig height would be appropriate. Instead, the raptors we have are taller than bigfig Darkseid, so...

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

There was some sort of accidental confirmation. One of the sources of Star Wars news apparently (accidentally) referenced it when discussing something else. I don't remember all of the details, as it was several pages back. -
They stretched Kingdom of the Crystal Skull into as much content as the original 3 Indiana Jones films combined in Indy 2, pulled 2 Hobbit films for a full game, and even made Force Awakens, one movie, into one game. I don't think they're afraid to stretch it out. Of course, all of this is assuming that it is a full-release title and not, for example, a smaller mobile game like Lego releases for many themes.

Watched The Babadook on Netflix. One of the most tense horror films I've watched in a while.
