  1. Indeed. What happens at 2:00 is a bit of a shock. Building that to learn how it works is one of the few reasons I was interested in getting this.
  2. I vaguely remember a site that tracked where parts were made. Does something like that exist or did I dream it? I'd be interested in checking out where the lower-quality parts are made and see if there is a trend.
  3. The round mouse was terrible, but that was 1998 which was 16 years ago, and just slightly more than half the time between now and when the original Mac was released. Even still, I was shocked that they sacrificed usability and risked CTS to the point where it caused physical pain within a minute of trying it for the first time in a store.
  4. This would make a great CMF set.
  5. Sometimes a patent holder has to sue anyone that comes close to challenging a patent, else the future enforceability of patent is lessened. I agree it can be ridiculous at times and I don't know if this applies to this situation. Yep. And if they don't someone else will. There are even companies that only exist to buy patents, look for violators, and then sue them. Apple recently filed a patent for a bendable phone. :)
  6. 116? From 7 sets? My family recently returned to LEGO and poured more money into it than we will admit to ourselves. We will probably take a break from it and/or simply stop buying more LEGO if we find relatively new pieces cracked after being used once.
  7. Someone needs to set the mood around here.
  8. Nico71, thanks for your youtube videos. You helped get me interested in LEGO again after a very long time.
  9. I'm trusting there is something else going on behind the scenes because this should have been a huge set and released in November of 2014 at the latest. Maybe we will see more and better Frozen sets when the post-Christmas consumer spending wave hits.
  10. just2good posted this in a thread about 2015 city sets:
  11. Very cool and creative, especially the use of the wings.
  12. That is probably intentional. Unlike some other forums, Eurobricks is set up to not host pictures, at least not much beyond an avatar. Scroll to the third item in this URL: How can I upload pictures of my creations to the forums? I hope that helps.
  13. What's funny about that? It is his work - he deserves the recognition, not some thief.
  14. The answer is in the first post (second item) of this thread. You need ten posts before you can send PMs. Your post was your tenth so it should work ok now.
  15. It is available for free this month with a coupon from the 2015 calendar they gave out last month for purchases over $75. That is also when I found that "available at LEGO Stores" doesn't include the LEGO Store website when my shipment didn't include it, even though that is where I read about it. :(
  16. Fantastic!
  17. I agree with you, but part of me is hopeful because I don't see things like "Insectoid Battle" in the following list from just2good: Fingers crossed but feet on he ground. :)
  18. I love these! Thanks for sharing them.
  19. I love the 9396 but the transmission doesn't alter speed, only function. Plus, the four functions are selected by two independent shifters. In other words, you have to select between one of two functions while the other selector (of two other functions) is in neutral. Quite strange, unless you like the idea of being in two places at once and the sound of gears grinding. ;)
  20. Bricklink. Get your credit card ready. I think these are the correct products. Double check the official specs to be sure before you buy, though. Soccer/Football/Futbol Ball Basketball (I'm not seriously suggesting you do this, but if you want the originals you have limited options.)
  21. The recent 48x48 grey baseplate was $15 at LEGO. It appears to have "sold out" but the classic 10701 is due 1/1 and still priced at $15. However, the picture online is still 48x48, not 32x32 as pictured here. The 32x32 green baseplate (626) was $5 and is now sold out! I hope the newer version (of the exact same thing) is priced the same. There is no way I'd pay more than $5 for a 32x32 baseplate. OK. Maybe $6. But definitely not a 300% increase from one visit to the store to the next a week later. Amen! :) From what I can tell, they are changing the number of the green from 626 to 10700 and raising the price.
  22. LOL! I know exactly what you mean. Welcome!
  23. I didn't think too much of the quad until today when I discovered a TV show all about quads. It is actually pretty close (in form) to a Honda Fourtrax or 500. Not sure what the name was. (I still like the Record Breaker better. :)
  24. It is expensive but when I think that or hear other people mention it, I ask if they could imagine paying the same prices 35-40 years ago — and for a lot less variety.
