  1. I did. Very colorful, and I like the amount of activity you have in the scene. It comes through well in the pictures. Your version of Guilder is grumpier than my version, but it worked. And I enjoyed his fancy pegleg! Nice job working around not having the right head piece, too. FYI, I may use this story to lead into something I'm working on for the near future.
  2. "How's the work going on that old galleon? Have 'er ready yet?" "See for yourself. She's out of dry dock, just loading equipment and getting her ready to sail." "Why are they bringing her back into service anyway?" "Ah, the MCTC lost the Prince Fernando two months ago. You know, when we had all those bad storms. This ol' mistress of the sea is from the same class, so they're refitting her to replace it." ------ Just a small build to sistership the Prince Fernando.
  3. I love this MOC! The ship, the cliff, the crane, all the minifig activity. Wonderful! And I had been fiddling around with how to build a treadmill crane like this just last weekend, but you've beaten me to it. Great job!
  4. Very cool figs! And I'll echo Garm: great detail add to the sword handle. Looking forward to where this goes.
  5. I think the one gedren linked, or the one linked at the start of the MRCA post, is as good as it gets.
  6. She sure is. That's always been one of my favorite Lego ships.
  7. You didn't use any pre-existing COR characters, but they are very specifically COR characters, and you portrayed the functioning of Corrie society, which should be controlled by COR players, whether you created the characters or not. If you wanted to show a random COR citizen doing something un-Corrie-like, that's one thing, but when you use ones that represent the government of that faction in some fashion, or the functioning of that faction's society, it's another matter. Yes, it's a fine line that you didn't think you crossed, but they think you did. I think all the players in this game are open to helping others tell their stories, even if it means a prisoner escapes or some such. Just set things up behind the scenes in a cooperative manner before building/posting and it should all work.
  8. As I see it, there are two issues here that are getting conflated at times (not to mention IC and OOC reactions): The inability to target only some or certain ships of a faction, and roleplaying events that dictate the actions of others. I have brought up a suggestion in the leadership forum to address the former in the MRCA mechanics. The latter is going to require some cooperation and understanding by various players. @MKJoshA, the thing that is frustrating the COR players OOC here is that your trial dictates their actions. They can't create builds and stories that show you doing things you wouldn't do, and they're asking the same consideration from you. To show a COR trial, if it is to represent something that actually happened, it requires input or prior consent in some form from COR. Does this make sense? Is there a way we can all agree that this trial is a story Sinbad tells (and he is free to claim it is true, whether or not that is correct ), while COR says no such trial occurred, and that both parties agree to let it go from there?
  9. I think Kwatchi's point was that he had captured Mesabi's ship and thus his ship captain character, and that turning him over to Corrington authorities was a RP element that should have been coordinated with Kwatchi, and I would agree with that. I also share Corrington's views on the problems with MKJoshA's trial story. Basically, there seem to be problems on all sides in dealing with RP etiquette and shared storytelling. In some cases, such as Sinbad's trial, I choose to view it as a story heard from Sea Rats that doesn't necessarily relate actual events (i.e., it's not canon). That's the easiest solution in some cases. We should all try to be more cooperative in advance on such storylines in the future. --- And Mesabi just posted as I was typing. His comments help a lot here, I believe. Hopefully Mesabi and Kwatchi can coordinate through PMs a fun story for us to see come to life here!
  10. The campaigns for Eslandola’s second Colonial Council have concluded, and the council’s business will be conducted in public in this thread, unless national security merits private deliberations. Eslandola’s Admius Legistrad, the leader of the Colonial Council, is Willem Guilder, Eslandola Secretary of Trade, Governor of An Holli, and Director of the MCTC; The delegations representing the colonial regions and the trade companies are made up of three representatives each. The East Trade-Wind Company is represented by @Garmadon : Agent Gilles Guelds Lieutenant Horatio Hillsboroughbergmachier, retired of the ETWC Elites Willoughby The Merchant’s Colonial Trading Company is represented by @Kai NRG : Captain Edward Argentum Esterhazy de Troir Chef Jalape The MAESTRO Trade Company is represented by @Legostone: Jerome Monezterrell, Eslandola Secretary of the Navy, Governor of Isla de Victoria, and Mayor of Fuerto Unido; Captain Lamar Evercrees of the Santiago; and Farrucio Paraja, naval architect extraordinaire The Independent traders of Eslandola are represented by @gedren_y: Commodore Hammish Grei Lady Valentia Cantoni Viscount Alexander Doblin The Sea of Storms Region (An Toli, An Holli) is represented by @Capt Wolf: Willem Guilder, Eslandola Secretary of Trade, Governor of An Holli, and Director of the MCTC; Aaron van der Meede, attorney and chairman of the Weelond town council; and Pieter Reyngout, tavern owner and Weelong town council member. 11. That is a nicely detailed raft! Great use of the capes.
  12. Nice build, with some good details (masonry bricks for texture, printing press, candlesticks) and excellent figure posing, and good storytelling, too. And I was planning on building a library for Weelond, so you've saved me the trouble for now. That said, two points: (1) The campaign season has ended. The independent seat has been filled, marking the first time the independent traders will be represented in Eslandola's colonial council. The new council thread will be posted soon. (2) I must side with @Bregir on the RP aspects: since it is you, and not an ESL player, that has defined the actions of these "protesters," I am left to assume they are WTC agents in disguise. As such, all town guard, militia, and port authorities will be on alert for WTC agents. If further outbreaks occur, there will be consequences. For now, once Guilder is back in Weelond, he will likely correspond with Montoya on the matter.
  13. Beautiful build, both inside and out. I like how you got some good texture on the exterior without using any out-of-the-ordinary pieces. And the interior has some wonderful furniture and details. Good minifigs/characters, too, with good choice of heads and torsos. Well done!
  14. Thanks. I certainly spent more time with them than I intended. Maybe we can work something out in the future. Thanks. Building the stone base was fun. And gotta have factories to grow. Thanks. I actually prefer the open trestle one as well. And if that door frame came in any other reasonable color, I would have used it in a flash. I think my choices were white, red, or yellow (and the red did not work with the dark red at all). And the sheep will return in a future build, no worries.
  15. Excellent scene. I think some of the best builds are small vignettes that make fewer pieces work more, and you have done that. Great use of the foliage pieces you have, good details (pineapples, skull on pike), excellent minifig composition and posing, good photography and good storytelling. Well done!
  16. It varies each month, based on how quickly we can process and publish the results.
  17. The MRCA deadline has been moved to January 7.
  18. It's not as awkward as you think. I like it. Very clever use of space.
  19. Nice little vig. I like the scribe at his desk, and interesting walls on the room. And good to see another seat on the council being campaigned for. Revon de Crocodil is a longtime member of the MCTC and mayor of the MCTC settlement of Salida Este.
  20. In Weelond, Gov. Willem Guilder, Aaron van der Meede, and Pieter Reyngout announced their campaign to represent Eslandola's citizens of the Sea of Storms in the Colonial Council. And so they sailed to Bardo, the center of all activity on Eslandola's other island in the region. Around the fountain in front of the Bardo Town Hall, Col. Oystridge, the Mayor of Bardo, introduced the trio to a waiting crowd. Col. Oystridge spoke first. "It has been an honor to serve the citizens of Bardo in the first year of our Colonial Council. ..." After a few words, he turned things over to Gov. Guilder. "Thank you, Colonel, for your service to Bardo, the region, and all of colonial Eslandola!" Guilder began. Turning to the crowd, "I hope that, along with Mr. van der Meede and Mr. Reyngout, I can represent you as well in the coming year as Col. Oystridge has done for the past year." Guilder introduced his running mates and extolled their virtues, both being members of the town council in Weelond, "both local businessmen who know what it's like to carve out a new life in the islands of the Sea of Storms." Then he spoke of his own history in the islands, rising from dock agent to Director of the Merchant's Colonial Trading Company to Eslandola's Secretary of Trade. Guilder then spoke about the need for active leadership in the council. "This is an easy time to become complacent. The war with Mardier is over, the dispute over Isla de Victoria and its refugees resolved, and trade ships sail the seas once more without threat of privateers or foreign navies. Our settlements in the east continue to grow, and new horizons are open to our trade fleets. But unless we are vigilant, making sure our home ports are healthy, and alert to the ever-changing political landscape of the Brick Seas, this time of peace can be squandered." Guilder looked around to make sure the crowd was paying attention. "I was saddened earlier this year when Román Esteban Fontonajo stepped down from his position as Admius Legistrad. He was a strong leader of our Colonial Council and is dearly missed. It is his example -- of stepping up to leadership when called -- that inspires me in many ways." Guilder paused to quietly clear his throat. "And as I stand before you here today, no one has stepped up to lead us in the new year. No one has announced their candidacy for the office of Admius Legistrad. I cannot stand by and watch our ship sail on with no one at the helm. Therefore, as well as serving you as a representative of the Sea of Storms, I ask you to support me in leading all the regions of colonial Eslandola as Admius Legistrad!" The announcement caught everyone by surprise, but the reaction was more than Guilder could have hoped for. The crowd broke out in cheers of "Admius Legistrad!" Guilder raised his cane in acknowledgment. And so, Willem Guilder threw his hat in the ring for a position he had not sought, but one that he felt he must now seek, for the good of Eslandola and its colonies. ------ One more pic of the build: ---------- This is my build to announce Guilder's candidacy for Admius Legistrad. The town hall is copied from Sir Stig's build from last year. I copied it as practically as I could, but did not have the pieces necessary to build it to its full width (or full detailing). it's always fun to work with his designs, as he usually creates good architectural relief and detail that I struggle with. As usual, all C&C welcome.
  21. Great build! You do such a great job using the trans-clear pieces for the water. That combined with the posing of the sinking ship and the row boat really give the sense of motion and action in the build. Fantastic!
  22. Wonderful little build! I like the irregular base, and the removable roof. Especially nice job with the exposed bricks on the first level of the building. Well done!
  23. Nice build and entry! I like the schoolhouse, especially the shape of the roof, and the fence. I love the reference to the fleshies skin tone! Nice composition on the minifigs as well, especially the support personnel.
