It'd be really nice to know if we're going to do a SHIPtember challenge. I really want to try a SHIP this year, but not 2. If there's no SHIPtember challenge, then I'll do 100 studs on my Cat. B ship. If there IS a SHIPtember challenge right after building the Cat. B ship, my parts (and wife) might revolt against me if I try two with 100+ studs in a row.

fantastic as always. the seaweed looks really cool and seems like such an obvious part usage for strange alien plants. the sub is great too. the only think i would change is the visible holes on the front of the engines. maybe some white rounds or white lightsaber hilts would've been a good way to better integrate those engines into the rest of the sub. you also did a great job of integrating that dome so the hinges don't stand out awkwardly.

I think this is your best entry so far. the vehicle is really simple/compact/clean/great. the underground scene is really well done throughout and extensively detailed. The shot of your character swimming out of the water is really cool, perfect posing. I'm not a big fan of the ship, it looks like you forced yourself to use some parts that make the structure look a bit goofy.

fantastic foliage as usual. I really like how you only used the red flowers on a portion of the small base when I would've instinctively covered as much as possible in them. You showed much more discipline and good sense than I would've. The rock work is also well done and i just noticed the NPU on the front engines. My only complaint would be the levers, but that's more of a personal dislike of those parts being overused as vehicle controls.

Nice rock work and I really like how you froze the aliens, NPU. I think the spaceship could have benefited from a slight angle to the wings, they look a little plain as they are.

so many great details and cool action. i think the windshield of the ship ends a big abruptly but the rest of the shape is really well done.

great shaping of both the vehicle and cave

Very cool Danny. I'm very surprised and pleased with the micro version of my latest spaceship. Did you base that of WIP shots or throw it together after I posted my build? Either way, very impressive. The main build is very nicely detailed, yet very clean, too. As are each of the small scenes. I hope you'll revisit this idea in the future so we can see more of the Axle and the day-to-day activities of the crew. It'd also be nice to see how you planned to edit those screens.

Location: F02 - Lesser Drigo Tags: Spaceship, Land Vehicle Back aboard the Axle, Pilot John Hannibal prepares for a new mission. As the trolley pulls in to take the pilots to their ships, he has an extra bounce in his step. The company's needs are starting to coincide with Hannibal's own ambitions and he is happy to be leaving for his last mission based out of the Axle. [O - F02] HANGAR 2 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr The Axle has become a great ship under Dr. Long. Ever moving, steadily humming, never boring. It was larger than most capital cities and was the heart of Octan's presence in this galaxy. Every deck was it's own community of mechanics, scientists, cooks, farmers, engineers, entrepreneurs, civil servants, firefighters, artists, teachers, mothers, fathers, drivers, pilots, barbers, tailors, dancers, bartenders, medics, tattoo artists, and the occasional special forces agent. Everything moved in complete chaos and unison. Every body had a purpose and every action a mission. But Octan would need more Axles if it was going to maintain its position in the galaxy. [O - F02] HANGAR 3 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Hannibal is dropped off at his newest delivery, a heavily armored jump ship needed by the driver crews working on F02. [O - F02] HANGAR 4 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr His next mission would depart from F02, so this was goodbye to the Axle, for now. [O - F02] HANGAR 5 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr C&C very much appreciated. Thanks.

Seems like a good time to post this. @Bob - If you can anchor this to the first page, I'd appreciate it. ATTENTION NEW RECRUITS: We're glad to see your interest in AG and Octan, in particular. Because of the large number of posts to the various threads and the evolution of the game over time, we wanted to post a general welcome and introduction to Octan. Generally, this forum is a great place to post interesting landscape builds of any type of terrain that you want. Octan builders worked very hard from day one to procure as much territory on the AG Map that it could so that our builders would have the best options for building. As of Week 8, we have the ability to control, defend, and build on 27 unique planets, all of which are ready for you to define, embellish, and develop using your own techniques, story, and characters. It is also a great place to exhibit your spaceships, starfighters, cargo ships, mechs, walkers, or any kind of sci-fi vehicle you can dream up. Octan accent colors are white, red, and green, but not everything you build has to be for the corporation (there are aliens, pirates, and competing corporations too). Light blue grey is also a great base for a vehicle that greebles and photographs very well against our colors. Do not feel overwhelmed by the prospects of having to post a weekly build. As Octan transitions from a exploration/domination phase into a development plan, we are going to be much less focused on coordinated domination of specific planets, and more focused on individual development and a more relaxed pace of building. Basically, we'd love for you to build with us whether you post one build, a build every week, or a build whenever the heck you feel like it. In Octan, You define your story, You choose your planets, You choose what to build, and You choose when to build (No Exceptions). We are just beginning to explore what we can do with this little universe. Our builders are active and ready to help you develop your ideas, introduce new building techniques, critique works-in-progress, and help with photography and photo editing. Our goal is to develop great builders, encourage rich stories and interesting builds, and have fun. PM Dannylonglegs, Wicknole, myself, or any of our active builders for any questions or concerns you might have. We're looking forward to building with you. - Pilot John Hannibal (goatman461)

Welcome Corvo, You'll need 10 posts in the forums before we can private message with you. Feel free to comment on some builds or share your MOCs in the appropriate forum to get your first 10.

[O - E03] Vehicle Delivery to Ertauq Outpost

Thank you everybody Shamefully, I ended up building the geysers, or at least starting them, before actually looking up pictures of them, so I think I ended up with cartoon versions of geysers instead. The pictures I looked at showed mostly steam coming up (which these rounds do a terrible job at portraying) and I really didn't want to spend an entire night adding every single 1x2 clear plate I owned to something that looked passable. I might attempt these again in the future with reality in mind. -
I really like the front of the truck. I think the domes could be integrated better, right now they just look like they're thrown on, but I do understand how hard it is to get those pieces to look right.

The dome is very cool but I don't really get what it is and I think it might look better without the tower. Great vehicles and figures as well. -
This base is amazing. The tree trunk bothers me a little bit, as does the barreled-bodied worm, but the detail you took to show the roots and other underground features is really cool.

So sad, poor Wick. I really like the Home One vibe this has. I also like the greebled middle section of the floors, but i think you need to focus on single color greebling instead of mixing lbg and dbg. The greebling could also start deeper within the floors so that you have more options for parts and more depth to play with.

Fantastic satellite and rock work. I think you could have used a much smaller base to avoid the large areas of flat studs and a few rocks and features that look out of place. The lava was done really well. Welcome to AG.- 14 replies

Poor H3, everything is such a struggle. I really like your structure, environment, and story, but there are a couple of areas that stand out and bug me a bit. Mostly it's just a lack of detail on the satellite and pump intake. Both of those features are too easily recognizable as specific LEGO parts, so it's a bit distracting to what is otherwise a great build. This also goes for the exposed anti-studs on the first picture. It is very front-and-center and starts the presentation of on the wrong footing. Otherwise, the rock work is great, the color scheme works well, and the pump's structure looks authentic.

This would be kind of cool, especially since the home planets are awesomnium planets and it would give us an opportunity to build more advanced buildings. However, it would make your home planet even more of a target for other corporations (unless your home planet can shift when conquered (if this were the case, would we need to exclude rare resource planets from being a home planet and gaining this bonus?))
-
Nice commitment to the water effect. I'm sure that took a lot of time and patience to reset for each picture. The support bricks are a bit distracting, maybe using rocks as supports would look more natural (as in sharp rocks peeking out of the surf that hold up the corners of the water). The texture you gave the water is a really nice touch too.
