those big engines are great and i like the technic panel on the back end and the weapons
-
great water effect, interior and rock work. i especially like the hatch sal escapes through and the touches of dbg against the dark red wall
-
i really like the shape and asymmetry of the ship and the greebling you did on the back end. everything is well connected so it looks like it actually has a function. the crash was well done too, which i know can be hard to accomplish with pieces that separate in ways are typically not realistic to a crash site.

Nice. It'd be cool to see the minifig scale version of those transports as your cat. b build
-
great shaping and SNOT'd look. the only parts that bug me are the 1x1 lbg round tiles on the engines and the repeated lbg parts in front of the cockpit. I don't feel like they blend into the design well or provide any meaningful greebling. I hope we see some more spaceships in your builds, you've definitely got a knack for them.

[Challenge 2][Cat A] Kawashita Asteroid Collector
goatman461 replied to gurusql's topic in AG1 Archive
I don't really see how practical that would be for moving asteroids, but I'm a big fan of the Cloud Car, so I can definitely get behind needless second pods. The yellow looks great against the dark red and dbg, and I like the way you used the hose on the lead pod. Both windshields look nicely integrated with the rest of the ship -
Wow. Cool rock work and trees. Love the doors and the way you used those dbg car rims. The vehicle is cool and the interior is really nice and clean, especially the flipped base plate as a floor.
-
that vehicle has a cool shape
-
i really like the way you connected the wings with those dbg technic pieces (i will be stealing that) and the cockpit seat is great, too.

Definitely the most spaceship-looking spaceship we've had. Very cool design and I also really like the way that middle section plays against the white hull.

350 A to MANTIS, please

Wow. I can't believe that holds up. Just amazing and epic in it's proportions. Obviously a lot of thought and structural reinforcement went into that layer of water. Beautiful underwater plants and features, also. Mega kudos.

Thanks everybody. I did have fun piecing together a MANTIS squad to kill off (i might make it a theme on future E02 builds). @shmails - i think you're right about the dark orange, part of this was getting a last minute BL shipment of brown bricks to work in between the dark brown and reddish brown, so i was carefully adding to the middle of an already build tree. do you find the dark brown - brown - reddish brown transition to be distracting as well?
-
what would an exploration build in an asteroid belt look like? there wouldn't be any flora or fauna to interact with, but there is an alien first encounter here.

Wow, you need to build ships more often the photography alone is instantly stunning and picks up all of the great details you included. the color scheme is subtle but rich, i really like the contrast between the white and dbg. the 2x4 tiles on the engines play nicely against the other angles of the wings and top of the ship. the windshield is integrated very well and does not draw attention to how it is connected. the guns on the side are very unique and interesting. I do think their connection between the guns and the wings could have been a bit smoother. I find that it's hard to both cover the studs on those wedge plates and keep it from looking blocky. the other greebles are great but i'm not a big fan of the levers, especially when they are in black and stand out against the rest of the color scheme. i really like the greebling behind the second pilot but am not crazy about the grill bricks behind your character, i think they don't fit into the rest of the greebling you've used, but i do love the inverted slopes you've used to wrap around his shape. my favorite part is the shaping you used along the back and the way it opens. that was very unexpected, yet incredibly appropriate and it makes the ship feel much more realistic. excellent, excellent work. now get this one a cat b big brother.

The Merchant Confederacy is vilified group of human-hybrid traders throughout the galaxy. The offspring of enslaved humans, those fortunate enough to escape their bondage banded together in a loose confederation of traders, merchants, pirates, brigands, and colonists. Their biological makeup varies widely and causes great unease to the elites in the A.L.I.E.N. societies. A well renowned leader within the loose confederacy is Captain Bridge Callahan. Upon hearing rumors of a coming invasion, he has pieced together and commissioned a scout ship, "The Libertine," to investigate the G.A.T.E. C&C greatly appreciated.

great micro build, the buildings look amazing with a lot of NPU throughout, and the Kawashita/Japanese influence is nicely subtle and very well done. I do think your miss an opportunity to greeble the heck out of the bottom with engines and other mechanics that make the city float, but it looks like your recognized that, too.

Danny's trademark words have been good, but this is definitely the funniest AG build, yet.

Location - Jurin II - E02 Tags - Building, Vehicle, Spaceship, Land Vehicle, Exploration After dropping a ship off on F02, Hannibal volunteers to run a delivery to E02. This beautiful planet has become extremely important to Octan and trade throughout the system. While Octan has maintained a strong presence on the planet, it has come to house a contingent of M.A.N.T.I.S. and many traders looking to capitalize on the border region. In fact, it is looking to become the nexus of the entire galaxy, being the linking point between Kawshita, M.A.N.T.I.S., and Octan (or at least the most hospitable one). [O - E02] LP - 4 2 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Such a planet is a thing of beauty, where everything interconnects, civilizations may rise, and commerce can enlighten all. One difficulty in the development of this planet has been the vigorous growth of the local flora. The ocean, woven through the forests of the many islands, was early considered a ideal place for landing ships and cargo, as it is on Earth. However, every attempt at cutting runways or docks led to the forest "taking back" the land. Octan did have much success in the tree tops, building platforms well above ground. [O - E02] LP - 4 3 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr This practice was so successful and prevalent that many visitors to the planet had not even seen the ground below. After unloading their cargo, Hannibal calls in his busy droid, Dora, that he had left behind to explore the planet. Together, they head for the secret sectors of Jurin only surveyed by his faithful droid. [O - E02] LP - 4 4 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr To be continued... C&C greatly appreciated.
