  1. I think they're right that it's the only way to secure all three rare-resource-planets, but I don't think we have the man power to take up the same strategy. Maybe if we beat them to G02 we can trade with them instead of giving up the entire "outer rim"
  2. Looks like we're coming out swinging. Lets keep hitting 'em. Based on the tech tree... (1) I'm thinking it'll take us a bit to start buying stuff, (2) awesomnium appears to be more valuable (yet, equally displaced on the map). If we head to G02 via H05-H04-G03, we will get a water and biomass planet on the way, so we shouldn't need to divert our builds elsewhere, just yet.
  3. Location: H05 - Livgorn Tags: Civil, Vehicle, Spaceship / Airplane, Exploration H05-1-A by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr H05 - Livgorn - Octan Pilot John Hannibal recons the area surrounding his ship's landing site. Hiding below the short but dense foliage, vast amounts of awesomnium and some sinister beasts intertwine. Edit: tags
  4. I've got one shot and edited for H05 that'll hopefully be up today. Is there any reason to build on Farmolis? It seems to me that this game is a land grab at this point and we should secure the rare resources and set a perimeter against the other corporations
  5. Good looking team so far. Eager to get started. Thanks for putting this together, Bob. I'm going to start building for H05. Any thoughts on what a "cold" swamp/jungle looks like? Would it be a bog? Edit: Forgot to ask... Do we have a signature generator in the works? If not, I could work on some kind of Octan employee badge next week.

  8. thank you
  9. I'd like one while you're at it, please
  10. I figured it's basically the same building/concept just in modular form. I will give it it's own thread once I finish Thanks. I think I've got the same parts in dark red or brown, which might fit better. I'd like to reuse that dark blue awning but I'm not sure it'll blend in well enough
  11. Quite the mystery. Here's the modular version I've been working on. Hopefully I can get all the details done by Saturday WIP Tatooine modular by goatman461, on Flickr It's layout is based on the Parisian Restaurant but is more like a Tatooine version that was taken over by the Empire, and remodeled to include a prison cell, comm station, and dewback depot.
  12. Thanks for the comments. They would've been more helpful a month ago when I was posting WIP pics in our PM, but I am happy to get negative feedback whenever it comes. The white rock/walls are based on the Lars homestead and the use of stucco to protect buildings from erosion. A lot of the areas you've mentioned are basically unfinished because I decided to divert my time and bricks to another build. However, the prison was intentionally left without a roof because I thought it'd be more cruel. I'm not sure what you're referring to. I didn't edit my post, so those are all the same pics.
  13. Thank you BEAVeR for blogging this and for all of your ever thoughtful comments. I never considered using yellowed bricks for the "used" effect, and, honestly, I don't think I'd ever go that route... yellowed and light grey bricks just make me cringe. I also didn't get the same sense of the Phantom needing a lot of "wear and tear" based on the source material. I totally agree about it needing the artwork on the "cheek," but I don't actually own the TLG Phantom, and couldn't bring myself to buy the set. I considered BL but didn't have time to get the sticker that way, otherwise I definitely planned to slap a sticker over those bricks. The cockpit did take a lot of consternation. After trying a lot of different parts, this one stood out as the definite winner. I did consider a brick-built one like the UCS Falcon, but abandoned it because I didn't have the white bars to see it through. I think I see the main negative space you're referring to, to the right of the "R"... there is actually a piece missing that I didn't notice until after shooting, it was one of those round turrets from the droid gunship. It makes a big difference when that is in place. I'll get some updated pictures with the Phantom sitting horizontally this weekend... The DFWLUG has a big event in Denton, TX where I will display this and a modular version of my SoNE entry. Sadly I did not win the 16x16 contest; I'll have to get my friend Dwight to post his winning entry sometime.
  14. You got some really cool shots. The engine has a great shape, color, and feel. Sooooo many details and they all look great. The title is funny, too, bet your bottom dollar.
  15. I really like the fronts of those engines; very unique but fits perfectly. Color scheme is great as well. My only complaint is the panel you used on the front of the pod; it just doesn't seem to blend in well with the other curves and angles you have going.
  16. That interior and all of the equipment is amazing. I really like the way you used those curved walls with the railing below it. Excellent photography, as well.
  17. Nice clean build as always. The greebling is great and that engine's shape and color scheme is very cool. I think you need to dim your lighting a bit; your last few entries have looked rather harsh and it's harder to see some of the great details you've worked in here. I love the Rodian crew
  18. good concept. the shelves are a nice touch
  19. Lots of great details. A little more variation in the ground might liven it up a bit. The garage scene is phenomenal; the dark red really pops; the lighting is great; and the scale works really well.
  20. Glad you were able to get a build in. The violence looks great. Burn 'em down
  21. Very clean build. Amazing bantha and great color scheme on the pod racer
  22. Very clean, per usual. Interesting vehicles
  23. Great base and overall framing. The scorpion is interesting and you did a great job of creating a solid vehicle with a lot of angles.
