One of my overall top favorite MOC designers. I have built every model of his except the wing body truck.

Welcome back. I really like the first model. The buggy color combo is great. Looking forward to building these. Thanks for sharing.

I own this exact truck! Your design looks great! My only complaint would be that the bumpers and wheels should be LBG instead of black. In the USA I have never seen a fully blacked out version like this. I realize the inspiration for your model is the picture at the beginning of the post, but like I said, I've never seen one like that on the road. Otherwise, your design captures the actually truck exceptionally well.

I am currently building this fantastic MOC. I'm on the step the just installed the rims and tires. Once I get it built I will post a video review. Thanks for sharing this great MOC.

I think I read somewhere that the US will not get this set or the motorcycle until August 2015. That means the flagship most likely won't be in August but even later in the year... nothing Bricklink can't solve though.

This looks great! I am happy to see a great MOC that isn't RC!

Looking forward to this one. Thanks for posting Paul. Let's hope parts availability will not be restrictive on being able to build it.

I think its refreshing to have an outstanding high quality Technic model that isn't built to be an RC car. So many fantastic MOCs out there that are full RC... it really adds to the price to build some of them and honestly, who as an AFOL sits around and plays with RC models anyway... maybe I am in the minority in that area because I build them just to enjoy the building experience and then to have a great looking model to display.

The PR news wire article listed the Technic range of prices so I assume that highest at $229 was the MB. It's hard to image it would be the crane. Here is the exactly wording from the article, "Advanced builders will love the challenge of new LEGO Technic sets such as Motor Bike and Sea Plane that offer technical elements like gears, beams, pulleys, actuators and pneumatics. Sets range from $12.99 to $229.99." Given the mention of Pneumatics, I think $229 is the price.

Both renditions look great! I agree that it is so refreshing to see a multicolor model. I'd like to build both but I think I will start with the blue/white PD Special first.

Seems to me that etiquette would suggest that the model designer would post a topic on their new model. While I created the video, it was a collaborative effort between Paul and myself. He and I discussed the option of posting the video here and we agreed to wait. Regardless, the topic is now out. Let's all please focus the discussion on the fantastic looking model.

Building others' MOCs

I'm really not sure the point of this conversation... since the topic of #3 red connectors came up I decided to log into Bricklink... there at the top of the list was a USA seller with 14 used #3 red connectors for $0.68 each. I have bought from this seller a few times and so I now have 14 extra #3 red connectors. -

I honestly thought everyone in the Technic community knew that #3 red connectors were rare. Same with 19L black flex axles and #4 LBG connectors, etc. -
Best way to spend 100$
Osuharding1 replied to OG_technic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I would go with bricklink all the way... buying sets you end up with a bunch of parts you either already have or do not need or the wrong color... bricklink is the way to go for sure... but I would go Lego S@H direct to get your PF elements since its a bit cheaper than sellers on Bricklink. Just my opinion though -
What kind of budget do you set?
Osuharding1 replied to TheLegoViking's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I mostly focus on Technic, but I also tinker around with Creator, modular buildings, and some of the larger marquee sets (Tower of Orthanc, etc.)... I try and keep it at or below $250 a month... I typically fail at that and spend much more though.
