I have some difficulties in placing this topic in correct section. Should it be Trains? On the other hand it is supposed to work in a modular town, that's why I put it in Town. This is my biggest creation so far. Actually those are two modulars designed to be placed together on a display. The depth is 48 studs instead of regular 32 because of tracks and platform. I decided it was unrealistic to stick to 32 and still have decent building. Anyway, on with presentation :) What I hope is apparent from the picture above is that I incorporated some lights into these structures. The old 9V battery box is in the warehouse and gives power to all six pairs of lights (2x 9V in warehouse and 4x PF in station). There is also old style 9V switch that controls turning lights on and off without the need to reach for the battery box (black switch on the side of the warehouse). Before I show you the warehouse let's have a look at the platform: The warehouse: This is how the electric parts are distributed in the warehouse. You can also see the inside with some pallets and a cupboard for employees. Now, let's have a look at the station building: First - the roof. This is where I put all the lights that go with the station. This is how it looks like from the underside: That's 4 pairs of PF lights, one PF extension cable and one 9V cable to provide easy to disconnect outlet. The station itself has some nice flowers on the front, benches for passengers, some roof over the platform and a phone booth. That's what you could already see from the outside. So let's have a look inside :) There is a bit o a stir at the moment because of some careless passenger. Don't worry - this is being cleaned as we speak :) Looking from the front of the station you have confectionery that sells ice cream too and on the right your typical railway station fast food stand (with microwave in case your yesterday pizza is cold! :D) Looking from the platform side on the left there are some tables belonging to the restaurant, ticket booth and some waiting area. On the right there is an obligatory public toilet :), two gaming machines and luggage deposit lockers. If you wonder how it looks in town - its natural environment - here are just a couple of pictures: Full gallery is available as always on my Bricksafe: http://bricksafe.com...-with-warehouse

[MOC] Telehandler
Mestari replied to Lipko's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Congratulations :) It must be a great feeling having completed something like that. -
Unfortunately I can't afford that, but I do have this one and the Garage with pneumatics built at the sam time. I have also a train station to finish and a palm house (or whatever it is called in English) on the way for my LUG exibition. So there will be some custom modulars there. I'm coordinating the efforts for modular city and will post some pictures after the exibition on EB. If anyone of you want to see those modulars live, this will be in Łódź, 2-3 July, Poland.

Thanks, I didn't think of that. I usually don't frequent such stores ;)

Those are all brand new and original LEGO pieces with proper logo on them too. Bright pinks come mostly from LEGO PAB walls and the Simpsons house set. The most offending dark green came directly from LEGO via BOP program. Actually I have much less problems with old bricks than new.

This is my fourth modular building and first one that really got me angry at LEGO. I'll explain that at this end of my post. This is a Jewellery Store at the ground floor, followed by an apartment on first and second floors. What I wanted to achieve with this build was to have a living space that was complete. Eventually I missed the bathroom having only toilet there. What I did crammed in there is the living room, kitchen and toilet on the first floor and two bedrooms on the second floor (the little boy has blankets made of reindeer skin ;) ). There is also a storing room on the ground floor and a swing for the boy (where he left his teddy bear). I have also made a little area surrounded by foliage overgrown stone wall. The entry to the apartment is through the gate and at the side of the building. So, let's have a look at all of the modules together: First let's have a closer look at the ground floor: and a view from the back: and a front with LOVELY dark green bricks. Each in different version of what was supposed to be the same colour: Now for the first floor with living room, kitchen and toilet: and the last floor: Here is another view of the building: and now I'll tell you what made me angry (apart from those dark greens, that is). First, it was also DBGs and bright pink that were all over the place with colour accuracy. Have a look at that: Then, much more serious trouble. This is what happened when I tried to build with 1x2 bricks: Nice, isn't it? It was even worse if you kept on building like that so I had to disassemble everything and start again, but this time I had to use 1x4 bricks as much as I could to avoid warping the baseplate and rising the whole building. Pathetic. But it's not all. Later came 1x2 plates. This is what those do: Same thing, but here I need only one layer of them and was albo counter fight this effect with 1x4 bricks on top. Lastly, cheese slopes. I have 2x6 of them on the front. You guessed it right. On the left side 4 out of 6 cracked. Because. I was rather displeased, to say the least as those are all new bricks and I have more similar stories to tell lately so I contacted LEGO service via e-mail. They politely told me to sod off. Only after me calling them I was able to get replacement for broken and cracked pieces. Shame on you LEGO... :/ PS. Full gallery for this modular is here: http://bricksafe.com...jewellery-store

What is interesting about the suspension? I heard it's the same as 42039. -
Wow, this is neat! Impressive that not only does it look great, but it also has so much onside :)

I still don't fully understand how that bed with weight from power puller works. In the animation all bands are loose. -
Mostly those exposed studs on the plate. The colour is a bit too light too (for my taste), but could be all right if given proper texture. Here the only texture it has comes from studs. Maybe try covering these plates with 1x2 tiles (try different colours to see which fits best) and have each row aligned with 1 stud offset (so you'll need 1x1 tiles every second row as well). You can also try not to place them equally hard on he plate and have bottom side of tiles stand up just a little to make impression of tiled roof. Just my opinion though. And I always have troubles with roof on my builds...

42056 - Porsche Speculation
Mestari replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
And so it makes the number of steps completely useless information. We should look for number of parts in set vs. number of pages in BI for some reference. -
Or maybe you have in mind some "open" layout? A couple of straight tracks, some switch track and buildings?
-
I like everything except the roof. For me it's something that needs immediate replacement. It just doesn't fit the building.

Allanp expressed my feelings accurately. I was expecting more but got regular flagship with premium packaging and price. I will try to buy this but definitely not for the suggested price. This is way too much. I'm so sad they wasted so good opportunity to reintroduce normal coloured pins and gears... We don't know much about the instructions, but I guess, after seeing the car, that it is going to be the regular 1 piece per page variety :/ There goes the Ultimate... -
Thank you :) the car delayed the publication by quite a lot (I had to wait for the white wheels and some ideas for the car in general), so I'm glad you like it - feels like it was worth to make it for the modular :)

Thank you guys! Sebitsena: It doesn't come in "octan" ;) I just made this one and when I disassemble this in September I will use the parts to build something new and different. paul_delahaye: yes, this is a matter of friction that is different in both cylinders. There is the same problem with bigger cylinders too but it's not apparent here. This is because I connected them together with that yellow beam in the lift. Edit: Thank you Rick for the front page - my first ever :)

Hello, I'm happy to introduce you to my modular garage with power functions and pneumatics: This modular has the following components: 1x Rechargeable battery box (8878) 1x M motor 1x air tank 1x manometer 2x small pumps (6L) 2x small pneumatic cylinders 2x medium pneumatic cylinders with square base Approximately 1,5m of pneumatic tubes (I didn't count, maybe there's more) I always wanted to mix technic and regular system bricks and I already did so with my Ice Cream Parlor (http://www.eurobrick...opic=111129&hl=). Now, with my third modular, it was time to introduce pneumatics! :D This is the coolest part of LEGO for me and to increase the cool factor I have used manometer as well :D This building's purpose is mostly to have fun, so I didn't care that much for the fact that gigantic manometer on top of the building is rather rare sight in real life ;) I simply always wanted to have one and observe the changing pressure as I play around with my model and here it is! Anyway, we have here compressor that powers cylinders that open the doors (2 small cylinders) and rise and lower the car lift (2 medium w/ square base). The list accepts cars up to 7 wide and has a lot of lifting power. You can remove all three sections of the roof for easy access. Here is full gallery on Bricksafe: http://bricksafe.com...modular-garage# And here is movie on youtube: Enjoy!

I'm at a point where storing bricks is the largest issue. This really drives my purchases now. With this BWE I will have to limit myself to buying parts of interest only via B&P or BL. It's just too big :) -
[MOC] ICARUS Supercar
Mestari replied to Madoca 1977's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Absolutely stunning! You really know how to impress :) Do you think it will be possible to switch Sbricks to Lego IR Receivers or is there no place in the model for that? I don't have any Sbricks and don't intend to buy in near future and I really want to build this car.- 220 replies

Yes, the MOC is good, but I like the photography best. It really adds to the overall feel of it.
