Very nice 12v layout! The raised section looks great, especially the work on the bridge, and really reminds me of the 7777 Idea Book. Thanks for sharing!

Looks like it could have been made by Lord Business! But seriously great job with this. The top is especially cool.

Fantastic work capturing the feeling of the real thing. I think you really nailed the wheels!

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion

If that's the real Benny figure, that's awesome! I wonder if we'd ever see the helmet mold in the other traditional space colors?- 2,626 replies

I'm really interested as well in the 'resinlution'. I just saw a custom 4.5/12v -> 9v/PF track connector for the first time here on EB. Thought it was brilliant! I wonder if we'll all be 3d printing out own custom Lego parts in 5 years as the prices of printers continues to fall, and quality increases.

I'm going to try to finish bricklinking a couple old classic (and expensive) sets. The more I look at the prices, shipping and fees though, the more I wonder if it's not better to just buy the complete set. But the fun is in the journey to a completed set sometimes!

Why are people fighting to pay more than it is worth?
Doom2099 replied to Vee's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I wonder if this isn't a case of casual fans of Lego jumping on this because they love the Simpsons? When the press release went out, people who don't care about Lego at all showed me the pictures of the Simpsons house to see if I had seen it. They might be the type who are floating around ebay. Either way, it's good to show there's demand for this. Lego may be on to a hot theme. -
The video's a lot of fun! I like that the camera was further back, so you get a nice look at the engine and front cars twisting around the curves. Thanks for uploading!

Incredible. On first glance, I thought the upper floors may look a little plain, but when it's in a modular street it's just perfect. The touches inside the Lego store, and the other floors are perfect.

What an incredible city! The mix of modulars, haunted, and rustic scenery, not to mention the trains is fantastic!

My 1st MOC: 'Friends' Apartment Building and Bookstore (WIP)
Doom2099 replied to LukeWarmTea's topic in LEGO Town
That's a nice first floor. A friends modular sounds like a lot of fun! -
That's good luck that those are available in tan. It wouldn't look the same in trans colors!

Well done! The reds really do need more ships, and this would be a great addition to the squad.

I have to go with 7781 and 7784. Classic styling, and lots of play options. Still I'd really like a 1966 Batmobile!

I haven't bought any movie sets yet, but it's the hood that has me the most excited. Glad to hear you like it!- 2,626 replies

This is incredible! The curvature on the engines, and the clear purple details are my favorite parts.

[MOC] (the nine clans) The sword of power
Doom2099 replied to odidoma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Outstanding work, especially the walls. You really brought this scene to life! -
I think clever marketing makes them great vehicles, as its got us all talking about it, and creates a nice catch-all grouping to the single vehicle sets. Now we've got Fire, Police, and Great Vehicles.

I agree, every aspect looks great, even the different colors of grey inside the circle. I'm also looking forward to hearing about the control.

Thanks Dirk, I've been really excited waiting for this. I really like both of your trains, the 6 wide and the monorail version. Great job of packing so many details into the smaller scale. I also really like your solution for running 5 cars. That monorail motor does a good job, with just one running your other small train, and now this pushing and pulling two cars in front and behind. Thanks again!

This a really great MOC! The colors and striping really make it look like the real thing.

I'm glad we're in a time now where Lego makes good engines and sets like the Emerald Night, Maersk and Horizon Express alongside the regular passenger and freight starter sets. If Lego ever got rid of their basic starters, how would kids grow up into the more adult oriented sets? Before the Santa Fe Super Chief, we never even had the option of better trains, so this is the best of both worlds I think!

Wild West - Trains, Town, Military and mini-figures

Wow, this is a great integration of western, town, and trains! I particularly like the station and its simple but classic design. I hope we can see some pics when it's all put together!- 109 replies
