I'd love to see more classic costumes, like Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver. Maybe they're possible after we get their Avengers 2 versions. We've got a classic Doctor Octopus coming, so I hope a classic Green Goblin will follow. And since Sony is pushing the Sinister Six now, minifigs of any of them would be great!

[MOC] Stark Industries Armory [Iron Man Hall of Armor]
Doom2099 replied to becauseBATMAN's topic in LEGO Licensed
Collectible Iron Men so you can make your own House Party? That would be incredible! Fantastic Hall of Armor as well. -
Looks like a lot of fun to woosh around in the air, similar to 70701 Swarm Interceptor. Nice work!

This is fantastic! Modulars set up like this for corners really give you a lot of options for your town, and the decor on this is a homerun! The details behind the restaurant are probably one of my favorite details.

Wow, really looks like a great set. Thanks for the review!

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
Doom2099 replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Benny's ship looks amazing, but I was hoping we'd get the classic spacemen in all their colors. Here's hoping for a return to Classic Space after Galaxy Squad!- 2,626 replies

MOC: Monorail Train Station with "Schweineschnaeuzchen"
Doom2099 replied to Dirk1313's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Hi Dirk, Thanks a lot for posting the Youtube video! it handles everything really well, from the corners to the ramps. I've never thought of using just the motor section from a monorail. Does the weight cause any problems? Thanks again for sharing! And I hope your monorail works better than mine on the bounce setting. -
This truly would be a dream come true! I want to hope Lego must have something up their sleeves, and this would be the best Simpsons set possible for train fans.

Thanks for replying Zueri! I always thought the 4559 is underrated, so it's great to see it getting its full due! Was modifying the double switchtrack difficult to make both trains go straight?

Hello everyone, I've been enjoying Eurobricks for a while, and I'm always amazed at the great MOCs, MODs, useful news and information here. So thank you all, and I look forward to seeing you around the forums. Doom2099

Emerald Night train - how to make it run smootly?
Doom2099 replied to Steph 104th's topic in LEGO Train Tech
My Emerald Night ran smoothly for about half and hour, and then starting getting gummier and gummier, and eventually just became undrivable. Though Lego making this set was a dream come true, it's too bad that so many people have had trouble with it, and I'm grateful to forums like this for all the great solutions people have put forward over the years. -
This is a very nice narrow guage set up! Though it seems to me that since Lego has nice curves and ramps from sets like the Temple of Doom, that eventually they'd put out straight sections in 4 wide so we don't have to resort to old 4.5v track? More track options in a town is always a good thing!

Sometimes there's a lot of fun to be had with two people operating a 'dangerous' layout though. But this is a nice layout! Do you run multiple trains, and are they the same, or do you worry about faster trains catching up to heavier ones?
-
This is a great use of floorspace! I particularly like the 4559s being so well utilized. And double double crossover tracks side by side? Incredible! Actually, I don't have any first hand experience with those, but I think I read that you can't set both tracks to run straight through? Does having two side by side like that negate any problems like that?

I'm really glad to hear the front is different from 7897. And for me, I don't mind the two engine trains like the current red passenger train and 7745. I think they look great as starters, and more serious collectors have the Horizon Express for lots more options. As long as the nose piece fits properly, and looks good.

That mirrors my experiences with Bricklink exactly. My first time rebuilding a classic set taught me so much, as all the little extra costs really do add up. Actually, I'm more and more amazed at just how similar the prices are for whole sets compared to the sum of the individual pieces. I like what sin is doing here with his Green Grocer, and some of the other ideas in the thread about color substitutions and piece replacements to make things more reasonable in terms of price.

Wow, this is looking great! Thanks for the high res pictures. For the minifigures, it's a bit of a mixed bag. The sleeves and shorts are going to be great not just for this line, but for all minifigs in the future. And Maggie's body is perfect for anyone trying to recreate a real family. Sadly, the half closed eyes on Homer, Marge and Bart don't really look that good. Maybe we'll have different head molds in different sets wtih different expressions? At the same time, given how far Star Wars figures have come over the last decade, I hope this is just early growing pains as well. Can't wait to see the first MOC for Homer's Mr. Plow!

MOC: Monorail Train Station with "Schweineschnaeuzchen"
Doom2099 replied to Dirk1313's topic in LEGO Train Tech
That's a great scene for a lot of reasons, from the snowy tiles to the simple platforms. It's great to imagine this kind of low monorail running like a narrow guage train through a town. If possible, can you show more of your build that allows it to navigate corners? Thanks for sharing! -
[LDD MOC] 71,000 piece, 13-foot Super Star Destroyer
Doom2099 replied to Fox Hound's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow, that is absolutely stunning! It sounds like people around the forum have some interesting ideas about how it could actually happen, and I wish you the best of luck getting in touch with Lego and hope they can help get it on display someday. The main engine, city, and tiling are outstanding. Thanks for sharing!
