    Hey.

Hi Kafi, why not say a little bit more about yourself than being from Poland ;) Welcome and enjoy your stay!!!
  2. I let my nieces and nephews play with practically all my LEGO but I don't like the one's destroying buildings, I'm not the only one, my nephew (5 years old) was also shocked of seeing his cousin of about the same age throwing with LEGO pieces etc. Only a few rare / expensive items are off-limits although I would trust some of my nieces/nephews with them too (and will allow them to play with it if their 'destroying' peers are not around). Of course it hints to AFOL's, but 99,9% of the AFOL's would never glue their LEGO (unless no other option is left) so it is definitely not only the typical AFOL that is portrayed here as Lord Business.
  3. Directly promoting the LEGO ideas project is impossible, but what we could do is focus on the world record of course. I should discuss that with the fellow staff first I think but would be eager to do so of course! Like the idea and would even like to come and help out, 2017 if it is in the summer holidays...
  4. If we can help you with that let me know Henrik!
  5. They were old tow bars from the oldest LEGO era: e.g. set 400 from 1962. My dad also had them. Part number is 650. They are made of nylon as you can see.
  6. Important notice! I fixed it in my text.
  7. I changed the title a bit, lot of international people here that might not know where Utrecht is ;). The AFOL movie about it was fun! I have been at LEGOWorld for many years but it is way too impractical if you work in education like me to pull it off (I only get one week, not the two weeks that LEGOWorld more or less demands). Zwolle also had it's disadvantages but also a much better appeal I think. Alas due to incompetence of some people it is what it is today, LEGO wanted to make it more like the Skaerbaek event, I understand part of that, I mean showing only existing sets and not paying attention to details happened in Zwolle. On the other hand, now the builders are more or less left to the grace of the new organisation.
  8. Nice video! This year I was too busy to visit, maybe next year.
  9. Hi Andy, no problem, first remember: LiPo batteries are potentially dangerous! Shorting them will make a kind of welder out of them and will probably cause a flame or your battery to explode. Believe me, I'm a tech teacher and have seen it happen ;) That should not spoil the fun of course. I think other safety regards are somewhat over exaggerated but one should officially always stay near to the battery when charging. Li-Ion seems to be a little more safe. LEGO built so many safety features around their LiPo, makes it costly but also very safe (students shorting the LEGO LiPo had more luck: inserting the power adapter resets the internal protection and the battery functions like nothing happened). When using LiPo cells, you will find that there is a difference in the amount of cells used. 1s stands for one cell (at least one series cell) and will typically provide 3.7 volts. A 2s battery will have 2 3.7 cell in series and so the voltage is now about 7.4 volts (and so on for 3s being 11.1 volts, etc). There will be a red wire that provides you with the positive voltage (so for 2s 7.4 volts) and a black wire with being the ground (0V or minus) lead. Reversing the -/+ on a motor will make the motor turn the other way around. When using the LEGO IR receiver, there is a regulator and switch inside that will let you regulate the output and direction: http://www.philohome...pfrec/pfrec.htm Here is a cable setup of the PF cables: http://www.philohome.com/pf/pf.htm Make sure that you don't deplete the LiPo too much and also make sure you use a good charger (I buy them at hobby king). Some general advice: - make sure if you strip the cable that you use (from the LiPo and the PF) a good wire stripper (there are alternatives but for beginners I think they are an important tool). - make sure if you attach the wires to the remote that you make sure you have the correct leads and also make sure you use shrink tube and/or hot glue so that you make it virtually impossible to get a short. I use PF extension cables to accomplish this: cutting a cable will get you two of the adapter one's:
  10. Of course it is possible. I have some trains that run on non-LEGO LiPo's because they fit better in the tenders.
  11. My 7823 rail waggon has red pins in black wheels.
  12. "dont know where their factory is located there": Kladno ;)
  13. Use another browser maybe?!
  14. Sad and nice at the same time. Friends of ours run a gravestone business so a few weeks ago I helped them making pictures for their website, including child graves in different cemeteries, very weird feeling, but also reality.
  15. Great little MOC! Fortunately for the unlucky pirate there doesn't seem to be a trap door in the scaffold ;)
  16. Quite some kids in the train today, they were complaining that they did not see a lot of city ;)
  17. Yups :) we went there with other 1000steine people, the one in the LEGO Idea House, as I understood from Kim there are in fact three different vaults, but I think the other two are 'real' vaults.
  18. Great job Hans, won't be able to make it to LEGOWorld this year but hope you will also share a video of how it looks in Utrecht.
  19. It happens more often. Now and then people that work at LEGO seem to be able to produce parts in special colors that if they don't make it into sets are getting distributed using other channels. I have 1x4 hinge plates in brown and the also 'don't exist'.
  20. Very nice work brickbuilder711! I love US-syle trains :)
  21. Welcome and enjoy your stay fordtruckin.
  22. Great job Lasse! Apart from that 'pope' the others seems to be enjoying the skeleton quite much ;)
  23. Haha, but there are people that can help with that of course :p Great solution!!!
  24. Great job sm 01, how did you manage to hide al those PF parts in the Fire truck.
  25. Almost all iOS devices have BLE / Bluetooth Smart / Bluetooth 4.x (different names for the same thing). iPad (Pro, Air, Mini, 3rd & 4th gen) iPhone (6s/Plus, 6/Plus, 5s, 5c, 5 & 4s)
