Train video from Latlug display at "Unicon 2015"
JopieK replied to Peteris_Sprogis's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Nice video with nice trains! Thanks for sharing. Especially like the small rail crane at 1:03 -
Very nice train Nemo... but your images are way too large (the latter ones). Can you make them smaller please?!

More Realistic Couplers and other improvements for Future LEGO Trains
JopieK replied to Brickthus's topic in LEGO Train Tech
We could try to design something for it and do a kickstarter of course. -
Well they probably also are in the original since LEGO did obviously not scan them but use the original document to generate the PDF. There is another option though: use the LXF file in LDD.

Automation is not difficult at all. I use (Arduino like) Teensies with XBee to make it possible... -

More Realistic Couplers and other improvements for Future LEGO Trains
JopieK replied to Brickthus's topic in LEGO Train Tech
In the 2016 forum more realistic train properties were discussed. Duq made the observation that it would be easier to put them in a separate topic, so please discuss anything about couplers and other improvements in here. -
The advent calendars / julesomething in Danish. About the couplers etc: new topic here
-
They are already in the Danish catalog as well. Got one yesterday while visiting Denmark.

Welcome to EB Focus, hope you and your family will enjoy it!

Cute nice friends train ;) According to CM4Sci there will be a 40138 Christmas Train (http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=113265). Probably also some kind of mini set when one has a look at the number.
-
Indeed! So nothing to worry about. I did a wrong merge (whoops).

Proper care/preperation for "crumbly era" LEGO stickers?
JopieK replied to BraselC5048's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The only good trick I know to solve this problem is scanning them and then remaking them in vector format and printing them with a professional sticker printer on high quality (preferably the stuff used on cars two wrap them for promotional business purposes) material (vinyl). That is what we do at least. Costs quite a lot of time, but I think the only way to really solve this problem. -
Well I was more suggesting that I was surprised that between 2012 and now the designers in Billund and Ginzburg did not copy your MOC ;)
-
You could PM Anio but you can only use that option if you are around here a bit longer. Welcome to Eurobricks, why don't you also introduce yourself in the introduction forum and of course also welcome to "Train Tech". About the model: I did not see this model in the parks yet. Last saturday I was in Billund and last week I was in Günzbürg but the models came nowhere near this one I'm afraid. The enormous amounts of glue and the strange wheels were a little scary in my opinion but there were also some nice train models especially the German Köfs.

Fascinating children for trains is a good thing. We don't need that many "fried air" sellers, we need to have more engineers... and trains, especially from the steam era make you want to become fascinated about technology.

I (almost) always build in extended mode so easy to check (I'm building a modular station, have it in LDD already for months, but now the real deal).
-
But it has one: 46564 under the drum / spool icon (in Extended Mode).

I think it is a wonderful idea! LEGO has brought very nice cargo centers in the past, maybe you can fuse a few different sets?
-
Too bad, would have been nice though! There were only a few creator sets listed and all were < 50€ so I guess (hope) the list is also still a draft and will get bigger.

Very nice work :)

Programming Ev3
JopieK replied to knotian's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Main difference between C and C++ is that the latter can be used for Object Oriented Programming. Not very useful for an EV3 robot in my opinion although the normal EV3 software is in essence object oriented. -
Programming Ev3
JopieK replied to knotian's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You probably mean C or C++, there is no such thing as C+. C++ means C = C + 1 where ++ is an abbreviation in © code for 'myself +1'. @rocklego. The EV3 runs Linux and Linux is an operating system like Windows / Mac OS, so you can't program in Linux as it is not a language. One could e.g. use Python, maybe even javascript (Node.js is very popular these days on other microcontroller systems). EV2DEV seems to be a Debian variety. -
From an AFOL perspective the newest buffers / magnets are indeed even worse than the old ones, supposedly for safety reasons but well... I don't see a kid swallow the whole magnet with it's surroundings. I can imagine that smaller magnets are dangerous but even then...
