  1. Very nice job!
  2. @coaster, there are successful experiments using Acetone and/or Chloroform: one puts the 3D printed object in a pan with a lit, puts a bowl of acetone next to the object in the pan, puts the lit on and waits a few hours. Too long will melt the plastic entirely though.
  3. Mouseketeer, I see you did not add the original mini train cars. I also can't seem to manage to put the rollerskates under a jumper tile (both current versions).
  4. Advantage of 9V over PF is that it then just stops while PF keeps running ;) Very nice and detailed train James.
  5. Finally the official message ;) http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=138700
  6. Today we will release more news about the train, so stay put.
  7. It is a nice book indeed! Problem with the Americans that they only speak one language James haha ;)
  8. Bochum Dahlhausen (where the Schweineschnäuzchen image came from) also has a nice old repair train just behind that round engine shed from the image that Nebsirob posted. Like your VolkerRail locomotive too Rijkjavik, has nice colours that fit the LEGO world very much :) we should send them a petition ;)
  9. Indeed of course ;) or was abducted by your alien for a while!
  10. Haha, that Alien ;) You did a very nice job there. Sorry I missed it, was nice to put on the FP :)
  11. Looks very nice Alexander!
  12. Topic is just hidden, it will be shown as soon as there is the official TLG information about it. @M_slug357: I think the PF wheels in the front are red, at least in that picture that we saw. They were already red in the Toy Story Train b.t.w. so I have a bunch of them laying around. @xboxtravis7992: I also hope that the final version will be better indeed :) in case of the Claas it was the other way around I'm afraid (although I'm not a Technic expert but my wife loves Technic).
  13. Quite expensive for what we get, but at least we continue to get more train parts. Hope they have some new parts/colors in it :) It seems a bit a devaluation of "expert" sets though.
  14. As an self-education project it might be very useful indeed! Will you be using VHDL to program the FPGA? I used to work at a college where we also taught FPGA's (Altera), I'm currently more into microcontrollers and mobile applications myself.
  15. Looks great Erwin!
  16. Welcome to Eurobricks Craig, hope you have a very good time here!
  17. Very nice work garethjellis!
  18. OSH is a good PCB supplier, apart from that I still do not understand what you are really trying to achieve, I think an FPGA is wonderful but there are much easier options for controlling LEGO stuff with embedded systems (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, custom tiny microcontroller solutions, etc).
  19. Thanks! Looks very nice indeed!
  20. For the wire problem: I'm using XBee modules. You could also use WiFi modules of course (those popular ESP8266 one's for example) to couple the different microcontrollers. B.t.w. an FPGA ≠ a microcontroller, FPGA's are universal chips that can be programmed to mimic the behaviour of other chips like an atmega328 (the microcontroller used on the Arduino Uno) or something entirely different. I have once made a very small PCB with an attend microcontroller, that works ok, you could feed it with three wires (GND, 3.3V and the digital signal to set the light). B.t.w. I think that a reliable connector and good wires are as important as the pcb and microcontroller part. @Phoxtane, multiplexing is a good idea, but remember that in case of your LED display all LEDs are the same (so you could use e.g. charlieplexing) for signals the LED's aren't the same so charlieplexing will not work.
  21. Welcome Sebastian. It (of course) was built before but that does not matter at all of course, probably also a different width than you are working on?! We are of course very curious on your interpretation and end-result. Note: there also is a LDD forum @eurobricks with a lot of tips and tricks on LDD.
  22. He must have thought just like LEGO, I still remember the Emerald Night debacle very vividly. But thanks for the warning peterab. TheScooterGuy at least credits JayHurst: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=533595
  23. There are good instructions at http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=533320 don't think they are BBB wheels, but you could easily be substituted I think.
  24. I recently got a german LEGO Train book, is also featured in there (the crocodile)! And I'm sure LEGO also get's their inspiration from Ideas projects like yours even if they don't reach 10.000+
  25. Great job! Work completed :)
