Thanksss! It's grey because I like it better grey (also, it looks grey in the pic you posted, I've never seen the movies lol) I think it's like 1 stud longer than your model, and maybe the same in height, I painted one bottom plate black and it looks better (the back looks squatter):

Thanks to prateek for some inspiration: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=81238 I tried something new with the chassis, it's just two big 1x16 technic beams, but I spaced them so there's a 5-stud wide gap between them instead of 4-wide. This helps widen the track (distance between tires on the same axle) while still keeping the body itself 8-wide. Got lazy so it isn't finished, looks good so far.

Thanksss! B-) The only thing that bugs me about the windscreens is the part that sticks into the cab, I cut that area off so it won't obstruct anything. Here's a WIP of a bigger wrecker, it'll have a bigger boom, sleeper cab, etc. I need to get more reference pics of other people's similar creations because I don't know how to design the winch. Also, I might be able to add a transmission to this. Update: New improved .LXF files added to the MOCPages site for the 4x4 and 6x6 chassis.

There's no problem, people sell custom action figures and custom model kits of popular characters all the time and no one ever gets hassled. It's simply not worth the time, money, and effort of a company to go after someone using their ideas, especially not if the "IP thief" is just some guy in a garage with no money to take lol

The secret to making a model you're happy with is to never be happy with the model! Here's a final update for the wrecker, I've reached the point where I don't think I can improve it anymore (though I'll probably nitpick it again later on haha). -Added interior, will raise the center console by 1 or 2 plates when I modify the windshields on the real model. -Minor reworking of some areas, mostly to fit the engine. Now there's a deep 4x4 area to fit it. -Removable engine! And it doesn't look like total crap! The big mega thundercharged diesel drops right in, the only things you have to remove beforehand are the oil pan and the two discs in front, I'll fix this on the real model. The engine drops down and connects to the axle itself, so it looks more realistic. There's also empty space under the engine for more realism. -Since the engine connects to the axle and the axle turns freely, I expect the engine to rattle as it rolls, so it has a built-in sound effect haha

4204 - Aperture Mines - Extended + Layout
Henchmen4Hire replied to Darthluke824's topic in LEGO Town
I wonder how long it'll be before those miners encounter ghosts in the abandoned mine -
Spiffy, looks a lot better! Should raise those mirrors though. LOL @ giant skateboard I was tinkering with an 8-wide version of this, I just sometimes don't bother posting because no one likes 8-wide lol. It's essientially what you did here, just wider with bigger wheels.

Bah! You beat me to making these! Ratchet is so prettyyyyyyy lol Good call on making the back 9-wide, 10-wide would look too fat. Ironhide looks good too, though the back looks kinda fat. I think you made them almost as good as they can get, I hope you add working features, like opening doors on Ratchet, if you have time.

This is the greatest truck ever :D Reworked the orange truck, now it's a hybrid of different things. -Added winch and wheel-lift based on Alex Wong's designs. The wheel-lift needs a little reworking so it can properly engage tires, but it looks good enough. The winch can swivel and tilt up and down, it can also bend at the click-joints of course but that's technically not supposed to be possible lol. I just need string and a piston-like piece and it'll be complete. -Yay, added fender flares to front wheels, I'll space them better in real life. -There's still room for a ballast box! You can fill that yellow container with heavy stuff and load it onto the bed. -And finally, I'm happy that a minifigure will fit perfectly in the cab, even with a bulky trucker hat! That's Mike Rowe behind the wheel haha. -I'll add the steering wheel on the real model, a claw/clip connects to that plate in the dash and the wheel goes on it.

This car kinda reminds me of a spider on the prowl, so Spider Roadster it is. I'm out of my comfort zone building in this scale, hope it doesn't show haha -Can probably easily convert this to a hot rod with the engine exposed. Dark Red and Dark Blue with Lightning Streak variants -Crash bar to protect the gas tank And here's Mr. Frankensquid riding the roadster while making Vroom! Vroom! noises because this is just a showroom car, it doesn't have any gas. Comment/enjoy/berate!

Thankssss folks! Yeah, the dual-windshields are a drag but they look alright. I'll add LDD files later today for you, mifody. Edit: Oops, I already deleted the pick-up LDD from my comp, I'll have to recreate it, will upload the chassis LDDs though.

It's so cuuuuuuuuute! I like the powerful look of that lower jaw. This beast and the big tiger shark from Aquaraiders should battle! You have to toss us some instructions for this! Or at least shots of it partially disassembled so I can make a LDD file for everyone

Haven't done anything sci-fi in a while, I need my fix! I'll try to post an alternate sci-fi build every day for this set, feel free to post your own! 1] A sleek model, could be a racer? Let's call it "The Glowbug" ========================= 2] Some kind of orbital glider ================ 3] Jedi starfighter? ========================= 4] This one is kinda ugly, maybe a communications ship? ===================== 5] Vic-viperish ship ========================== Now for some snow themed alts! 6] Big laser cannon on a snowy boulder field, note the red arrow showing a secret entrance lol ================================= 7] Here's a quad-walker strolling over icy terrain ======================== 8] A laboratory complex in the frozen mountains where they study "Dark Water" lol

Thankssss BJ! Ballast Tractors are trucks designed to be heavy (a Ballast Box is like a fancy bucket used to hold weight, they can be installed in normal trucks too) so they have better traction on the road and can then pull or push very heavy loads. They tend to use a drawbar to move the loads, so I should add some kind of coupling system to the bumpers of that version. Also, I should add a ballast box haha. I like the high bed walls they sometimes have, that's mostly why I used them here. I'm pretty sure to make it look like a true ballast tractor I'd have to make the nose/cab longer to accommodate a larger engine, making it look more like a big rig. I'm learning about this stuff on the fly!

Here are some ideas Standard pick-up truck I think these are called ballast trucks/tractors

Frikkin' sweet, they all look like they'd be just as cool in a larger scale. Hazard and Infernal are instant favorites (Also, I wouldn't worry about the shadows being off, it's not like we can't tell they aren't renders anyway )

I'm open to suggestions on what kind of things to make for the bed, I'm hoping to make at least 3 different modules. Reference pics for your suggestions would be nice too! Update: Yaaaaay! I found most of the parts for this from one seller and they live like 10 blocks from me haha

Not many people like 8-wide, but I'll keep making them anyway lol Here's not just a Super Duty, but Ultra Duty truck! I wanted to make more big 6x6 vehicles (like wreckers) but didn't want to keep buying bricks for all of them. So, the next best thing was to make this base truck and only build different modules for the bed. I kept the construction simple to maximize customizability. Notes -Going to add fender flares, I just need some 1x2 cheese slopes to stick on there -Can easily add extra axles, extend cab or bed, etc. -Can easily swap out modules to put on the bed -Can easily attach other things to front bumper by removing a few pieces -Roomy engine compartment This is a 6x6 version Here's the underside, very simple. Just use technic beams of a suitable size and reinforce them where needed. Use long 3L technic pins (I think they're only made in blue) to connect the wheels/chassis/axle together. Here's a shot with my Vactor 2100 and Wildland Ultra XT 6x6

Octan Jungle River Petrol Station (Servo Showdown Entry)

Very cool, I like these odd builds, never seen anyone build an island gas station before lol -
-New .LXF file link with updated model in first post ***Updated .LXF again, made a few areas stronger.

Yep, you can do whatever you want with the file and model, I only ask that if anyone enters it to a contest or something that I get some of the prize money haha. Oops, the ingots have the perfect shape but they should be replaced with either cheese wedges or 1x1 tiles. Trans-red for the outer 2, and trans-clear for the inner 2. And yeah, the area behind the cab needs to be filled in, I just don't know what goes there, I think some kind of equipment rack? Like you said, the chass should be stronger once that's filled. I left the cab empty so people can have fun designing it (also, I'm lazy ) Oh yeah, and I don't know if it's accurate but the two black 2x4 tiles on top can be removed to reveal more storage space. Another thing, with some minor rearranging, you can replace the two window frames with glass in the rear with 2 more of those safes. I left them as window pieces because they're one plate shorter than the safe and I could add the red lights. You'll have to sacrifice the lights if you want the safes for more storage.
