  1. Yep, I thought it would be harder to paint LEGO pieces but it's pretty easy once you sand them a little, just to get rid of the slickness. And I don't know what futuristic troop carrier is supposed to look like, but if you do send me some pictures and I'll try to make it lol
  2. Thankssssss! Here's a quick concept for a troop transport, or general transport really. Holds driver and 3 soldiers with weapons (on their laps lol). Rear hatch opens I think it looks better without the two front fins.
  3. There are a few going for like $600, lol. I hope that's just people bidding insanely as a joke. That thing looks really easy to make counterfeits of, provided you have a friend in a print shop or have the equipment. Grab a can of Alclad and go to work pumping them out You invest a few bucks making them and get $600 for it, I call that smart business.
  4. If I find Mr. Gold I'm going to trade it for like a hundred Blacktron figures. I hope they continue this rare figure trend, the figure is usually something I don't like so I don't go bonkers trying to get one. But if they made the rare figure in the likeness of Red Sonja... I'll fight you all for it! Also, what's up with Hungus finding Mr Gold and not posting a clear picture of it? What a cocktease lol
  5. Here's a quick look at the Commando, I'll take better pictures when I get more of these guys done. Who knows when the torsos will arrive from Germany though -Handpainted an Alien Trooper chest piece. Lightly sanded it to get rid of the printing (otherwise the outline shows up) and to let the paint adhere better. I only have Flat Black on hand but I'll give it a quick coat of Gloss Black when I get more paint. Going to paint the round things silver.
  6. Wasteful? Where are all these people throwing their bricks away because they're printed so I can walk behind them with a bag to catch them lol. Haven't they ever heard of simply flipping the brick around? But yeah, it'd be great to have a brick printing service (minifigs mostly, but no reason it can't do letters too) that didn't want $10 per piece. We'll probably be dead by the time it's easy and affordable to make quality custom printed figures and bricks. All you engineers and scientists out there, stop working on medicines and free renewable energy non-sense, we need a solution for cheap printed bricks!
  7. Cool 8-wide! The only thing that bugs me is I think the rear axles should be closer together, or maybe just add another axle between them. Maybe try to lower the bottom by a plate or two also, but it looks good as is. Check out my vehicles, you might like them (signature MOC Pages link) For making a parts list try LDDManager: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=41993 Just make sure the pieces you use in LDD exist, the Manager tells you if something exists or not, but not always. Worst case scenario you just have to change the color of something in your Wanted list after it's uploaded to BL.
  8. Thanks for the link! Yep, those look handy, but I'd redo them at a higher resolution because I can't stand jagged edges haha. Then I'd have to find a place to get them printed in good quality... probably cheaper to just buy the torsos. I like this one, basically the same torso with the "B" replaced by the yellow Blacktron logo - http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ I'll probably scrub off the "B" from the torsos I got and find a way to neatly stamp the yellow logo on them. Would be neat to make a hardsuit, but that's hard to do in LDD, it would look kinda "stiff". I'll try anyway though. (and maybe finally get that "LDD Builder" tag since like 95% of my builds are with LDD )
  9. All I know is I wouldn't want to race that thing, I don't know if it's hiding cannons to make me blow up, or if it'll blow up itself during the race and take out a city block lol
  10. Cool designs, I think I'll redesign my Black Hole Gang pickup truck to look more sci-fi like these. High-five, blaster-buddy!
  11. The camera isn't important, most modern cameras, even cheap point-and-shoots, do a good job. You only need a fancy DSLR camera with interchangeable lenses if you're a professional photographer or want certain effects. (a macro lens will generally take better close-up pictures than a zoom lens) -Get a camera that lets you use manual settings and learn what the settings do. Focus on learning what ISO, Macro, and Exposure are. Also learn a little about Depth of Field, just so you understand how F-stops and Focusing work. (higher F-stop means more items in the picture are in focus, lower F-stop means less items are in focus.) -Get a tripod so yo can use the timer feature on the camera (so your hands don't shake and get a blurry picture). Get one for like $5. -Set up a place to take pictures, there are lots of tips online to make a cheap lightbox. You can make one for like .33 cents and it doesn't even have to be a box lol. Just get a big sheet of paper and rest it on a table against the wall, tape it down if you have to. Put your figures on it, then aim at least two lamps at the scene from different directions and move them around as needed for the lighting effect you want.
  12. Yep, the robot looks weird, it has more of a bounty hunter vibe. I'd rather make a meaner brick-built robot. I used bley visors/goggles because too much black is boring, but I'll see how much I like black visors once I get them in hand. Not changing the yellow visors though, those are too cool B-) Also going to add little yellow Blacktron symbols to some of them (like the Commando shoulder), and I got some pants with pouches/kneepads printed on them so they aren't so bland. I'm gonna suck it up and just get the torsos, who needs to eat anyway, right! EDIT: Hurrah! I found a seller in Germany who had them for about 1.30 a piece, not bad. Even after the very reasonable shipping, it cost less than the U.S. seller, and I even got some extra pieces to help finish my Commando Starfighter and Superbird. Now to look for maybe 4 or 5 of the CMF Blacktron torso.
  13. Cool 6x6 fire truck!
  14. I have enough SP3 officers, now it's time to build up the other guys. Ordered some parts, going to have to paint a few bits black, easy stuff. I'm annoyed that the one guy who has a bunch of Rench (New Blacktron) torsos wants over 2 dollars for them. I'm not too keen on spending 20 bucks for a few torsos, but I may not have a choice since Rench figures sell for even more -_- Anyway, here are some made up Blacktron troops. Just imagine them with Blacktron torsos: From left to right: Sniper, Infantry with pistols, Infantry with fancier goggles and rifle. Laser Armor-cutter (to wreck tank treads, walker-legs, break into fortresses, etc), Commando, Armored Artillery Guy lol Robot Drone Demolitions Guy (he ran out of hi-tech explosives!) Space Assault Troop (capable of fighting in space, zooming around sabotaging enemy craft and being a general nuisance) Experimental Weapons Guy (they test fancy new weapons in the battlefield)
  15. Good job eliminating glare :] And just a reminder for anyone new to photographing things, you don't need a macro lens to take close up shots, you can use a telephoto lens and just zoom in from farther away.
  16. I agree, but sets like these would still be a neat idea for younger kids. I've never met a kid who wanted to completely disassemble/reassemble a set just to re-purpose a vehicle or make a new one for the current play session, it takes way too long. If not an entire series of modular items like this, then they could at least incorporate the feature more into the existing lines. Call it a "Quick Change" feature or whatever.
  17. I don't understand why there isn't an official series of modular sets like that (the modular houses are boring, they don't count lol). A helicopter with modules to make it a rescue chopper or an attack ship. A truck with different modules for the bed to make it a wrecker or a flat bed or a hauler, etc. Those basic walker legs with different bodies are a great example.
  18. Official sets are ugly for the most part, I'd rather see more brick-built alien creatures and figures than vehicles and bases.
  19. Impossible LEGO, I think you guys have created a new form of art here
  20. Haha, those banksters are so cheap they contracted the snake people from ninjago to construct the building
  21. Looking bland, needs a lot more color, maybe some signs will help. Still not entirely happy with the theme going on, but it's okay. Those are workbenches near the top, cabinets next to them with spare parts for customizing guns. Maybe I should get rid of the 4 islands in the middle and just make a double-sided wall to clips things to, it looks more like a highschool workshop than an armory right now lol
  22. I like that giant wing, everything looks cooler with a giant wing! Cool ride, I just think the area around the nose needs a little reworking to get a more consistent shape.
  23. So, obviously it's the start of an armory I want to build an armory, mainly for my Space Police 3 and Galaxy Patrol figs. I'm simply kicking around ideas for now, please feel free to submit your own designs! Eventually I'd like to have a big room for them, with shooting range, lockers, etc. Here's a nice generic design that's easily moddable. -The individual 4-wide sections can be linked with 1x2 grill tiles. -The row of 1x1 plates allow clips to move anywhere along the line to fit all sorts of weapons. -You can put whatever you want under the bench, or remove the bench completely to clip more weapons to the wall.
  24. The only thing the island is missing is a legendary Pokemon lurking around lol
  25. Nothing special, here's an idea for a stealth copter
