  1. I would display this like in that last picture, with the rocket on its side, gives it a movie poster vibe
  2. Was hoping to get some ideas for the wings on this, I think they're too fat and also wanted to shorten them by at least 1 stud. Here's the Stud.io file if you want to tinker with it http://www.mediafire.com/file/82ern0eyv3cvacj/ME_fighter.io The wingtips need to have a section 2 studs wide that angles upward, that plow piece worked great but attaching it made everything look so bulky. Here's the simple and sturdy solution I came up with to keep the engines at an angle. Here's the reference I'm using. I'm not worried about 100% accuracy, it's just the wings that are bugging me. Help! lol
  3. If my officers had to deal with aliens with fangs and claws and laser cannons all day I'd give them all armor too lol
  4. Mulder has really lost it...can someone please tell him to stop displaying severed hands all over his office lol
  5. I like the current theme the SP3 officers have. The cops with the short aviator style helmets have a normal beat cop/soldier vibe, while the ones with full helmets are their "specialized task force" for specific threats. They remind me of the uniforms from the recent Judge Dredd movie. If anything, I think it would be cool to introduce a detective division to the SP3 police force, because right now I think all they have are sh*t-kickers and sh*t-kickers with bigger helmets lol. I'd like to think at least some of them ask questions first, cave faces later. Maybe the detectives would have less armored uniforms and hats instead of helmets. Maybe they wear visors with a HUD that shows info as they investigate things, similar to the Galaxy Patrol figure.
  6. I liked the first nose/grill you went with, it has more personality than just using that engine piece. I'd change the 3 lights though, make the top two [trans 1x1 tiles] and the bottom light a [trans cheese slope] so it has the angle. •The new taillights look better. I'd make the grill piece covering them metallic or pearl, so they look like brighter metal. •I would swap the [1x2 trans-red plate] with a [1x1 trans-red plate] and a [1x1 trans-orange plate with tooth] so it sticks out like in the reference pic. Would have to give the trans-orange piece a coat of clear red nail polish though, to make it red. •The white cone should be swapped out for a white cheese slope, it would look more accurate to the speaker in the pic. Also, maybe replace the 2 panel pieces under the serving window with two [1x2 rail plates] so it's less bulky and it shows more of the textured bricks behind.
  7. Yeah, I remember when I thought it was a good idea to bolt wheels onto a jet engine and ride it over the horizon...3 lost limbs later and I still think it's a good idea lol
  8. Definitely like the improvement, looks like a mean ship
  9. In the game Steredenn, our player's ship is just a little bundle of pixels always viewed from the side, I don't even know if it has wings lol. However, it has a cool silhouette with its mohawk tailfin. This is how I interpret the fighter. I worked-in multiple attachment points for brickbuilt weapons in the future. The 2x2 bracket underneath can be used to attach drones, like when you get the Raygun or Autocannon upgrades. The nose has studs/holes/rails, and a technic cross beam running through it, so the tip can be removed to attach something. Studs under the wings, Parts can be removed and reworked to attach stuff, etc., lots of possibilities. Sprite: I was looking for an excuse to use those new gun pieces, also wanted to see if I could attach the wings with simple hinges without leaving a big gap, and it worked. The inside is hollow enough to fit one or two extra minifigs, or a buttload of Flamethrower Drones!
  10. Yikes, it's been awhile, had to dig through an old hard drive to get my login info to reply lol Those pictures are lost since i deleted that imageshack account. I don't even remember what they were of... I havent bought any MISB LEGO sets in years because the prices are outrageous, so I don't know how scamming methods have evolved. But assuming LEGO boxes are built the same way today, check the flaps that are glued for any tampering, things like frayed cardboard or cut marks, anything suspicious like that. Yank on the flaps and see if they're loose or easily come apart. Scammers will slice that glued flap open to take stuff out, then glue it closed again, without leaving any evidence.
  11. I really like the shape and features, but I think it's way too big. A smaller version would look a lot better with the minifigs, but as is it makes a great display piece.
  12. Probably modify the hand piece (assuming I find a usable design) to accept something like this That way the hand is removable and the wrist is articulated.
  13. Yep, looking for a way to articulate non-lego Transformers (and by extension, any figure really). Yeah, that Exo hand design might work for Voyagers and bigger, they're too blocky for my liking though. Is that what the piece is!? No wonder the transformation came so naturally. All I know is it was a great base to build hands on lol. Go ahead and use any designs I make, I don't get bent out of shape over that kind of stuff.
  14. rofl that's adorable. I'm loving those new small ballsocket joints.
  15. Good to hear there's lots of designer commentary, it drives me nuts when I build something and people are like "why didn't you use this other thing instead?". I hope the book helps people understand that a lot of thought goes into every piece of a build, we're not just throwing random bricks together! (well, sometimes, lol)
  16. I recently started collecting Transformers again, and it reminded me of how disappointing static hands are. Are there any galleries showing ways to make robot hands with LEGO? Are the pieces not small enough to make them at a proper scale? I flicked through the LDD offerings and cobbled together this design. I wasn't intending on making it transform (I just wanted to make replacement hands for Transformers), but I'm glad it worked out that way lol.
  17. Happy to see people building clever steering rigs because I'm too lazy to do it haha I would just use some pins with ballheads and call it a day because I like adding removable brick-built engines to my vehicles. Your build looks greebly enough to serve both purposes I think. Plus, ALIIEENNSSSS!!!! lol
  18. I'm so in luff with this thing, it's pretty cute for a garbage truck. And if you go that legged route it would definitely be dubbed "the dungbeetle" by everyone and their space grandmas haha I'd get rid of the mudguards and go with a more industrial design for the hoverpods, with the rear pods being longer as a throwback to garbage trucks having two rear axles. Then again, it's very bug-like, which is why those suggested legs work so well.
  19. I like the angular silhouette, and the black/grey underside gives it a space shuttle vibe
  20. When I made a Borderlands 2 Siren Mod prop, I simply went to the local copy place and had it printed out on sticky label paper. Then I stuck it onto the book like a book cover. Here's a pic: It was straightforward, I simply made the necessary adjustments to the images in Photoshop so they would fit the book. Just make sure to resize it to actual size at like 300DPI. It cost me about $2 a page, really cheap for such a great result. I imagine printing minifigure torsos would be even easier, just send the print shop the image file, with as many designs as you can fit on a page at actual size. Be sure to use semigloss or gloss label paper, something with a smooth surface so it looks okay on the figures.
  21. I cracked open the Bionicle section in LDD recently and my eyes glazed over at all those wacky looking parts! I see lots of potential for connections, but have zero clue where to even start. It's so hard to tell what kind of stuff fits where, especially with the tiny thumbnails in LDD. And then I hear about this CBSS thing that's shaking things up... Are there any resources out there that show basic frames we can build on? For example, a bare bones human figure with functional joints, so all we have to worry about is how to attach stuff to it.
  22. Thanksssss Updated first post with final versions.
  23. Features: •Mod Compartment •Removable hollow cylinder to store stuff •Rotating Barrel •Ultimate Badass Cred There's lots of wonky SNOT techniques to keep you entertained while building, however, the heavy barrels need support. I'm thinking of using rubberbands, but I need the model so I can rig that up securely. The barrels can spin, but don't expect to do that without them falling apart lel. I shot myself in the toe by using those rail-plates on the barrels. They're more accurate aesthetically than simply using 1x2 bricks with ridges, but it's a trickier build. For stability, I ended up making all the barrels one assembly. If you'd like the LXF file for this, please donate at least a dollar to my paypal account so I can buy soup tonight: henchmen4hire@hotmail.com I'll email you the file ASAP, thank you!
  24. Damn, here I thought this was going to be an Iron Maiden MOC lol Not disappointed though! Cute critters :)
