Embarrassed to say I didn't know anything about the revival of this library until now >_> Great job of course, only thing I would change is that round dark bluish grey building structure. It's too big, maybe make it with [1x1 round plates] stuck to a [1x1 plate clip light, thin ring].

I wish the pics were larger so I could see detail more clearly to make fun of it with more authority, but thanks for the write-up lol.

[MOC] Casa Cartagena (colonial style building)
Henchmen4Hire replied to diegoflorez84's topic in LEGO Town
Having lived in Mexico on and off, any time there was a random single Black guy in the village he would definitely be pointed out as "the Black dude", so whatever potential "problem" you're seeing doesn't exist in my eyes. (And since when is calling someone "a local" a problem anyway?) Example: "Ve con El Negro y traeme unas cebollas." (Go to the Black guy's shop and bring me some onions.) Or they call him "El Negrito", "El Moreno", etc. The locals just like to call each other by description, not by name. They refer to the fat guy as THE fat guy, they call the oldest lady in the village THE old lady, and they call the only Chinese dude THE Chinese dude. There's no malice behind it. Even the stores have pet names. If there's only one dude in the village that sells fruit, then he's called "El Frutero", meaning "The Fruit Guy." However, if this were an MOC of a place where dark skinned people are notiriously mercilessly taunted, like, oh, I don't know, Spain, then now we have an interesting conversation lol -
Yep, could tweak it to make similar-body cars like the Challenger or a Roadrunner. The only thing that I can't figure out is how to "legally" add the 2 vertical chrome bumper sections to the rear. However, there's a gap next to the exhaust where I can just stuff a LBG tile and it would stay there from friction. :) Going with a coupe body would let you get a sleeker finish since then you can substitute the hinges for a 1x3 slope. I want the next car I make to be a flashier color like orange or lime. Started working on a newer Grand Sport Corvette and maybe I'll go with orange or yellow.

I was just thinking, you know what, this model isn't expensive enough yet, I should add more parts lol I built some snazzy seats for the Barracuda so I had to make some for the Bird too. The back and headrest are adjustable, I know they're not supposed to be, but screw it mine are! Super Seats by Henchmen4Hire, on Flickr

rofl, sounds like a page out of an Atomic Robo comic

While updating my old cars, I decided early that I wanted to keep many parts I had already used on the 1.0 versions. Well, that didn't last long, my hands immediately grabbed totally new parts right from the start, much to my wallet's chagrin. lol It was worth it though, this 2.0 version is better in almost every way. Plymouth Barracuda by Henchmen4Hire, on Flickr Here's a look at the beast punching through the hood. The engine is so powerful it needs to use a chain belt or else risk exploding like a supernova lol. I think the whole assembly looks like some kind of turbocharger with an intercooler maybe.. The round silver tile is a radiator cap. Barracuda Engine Detail by Henchmen4Hire, on Flickr NOTES •I would use black electrical tape to clean up the jagged edges of the black billboard design, as well as to add the HEMI logo in front of the door handle. •Removing most of the black roof bricks lets us simulate it folded down. •Steering column is similar to my Superbird so it's adjustable. •For both of these features we need to use three black [1x1 plate with handle]. Unfortunately the Studio program doesn't have the part yet. •The tail lights are a basic build but are very accurate. Red is the body, LBG is silver trim, the red light is wider than the white light. •The exhaust is attached via 180 SNOT. •The protruding lights clip onto the 1x8 tile. •I'd like to use an old western pistol as a pistol grip floor shifter. •Like the Superbird, bars are used to attach the wheels to the axle plates. •I like the seats most of all, they resemble magnets so I'm calling this car color "Red Magnetic". If Metallica can make up weird names then so can I! •Yes, minifigs fit inside. Plymouth Barracuda Details by Henchmen4Hire, on Flickr Thanks to everyone who stops by to check out my stuff. This will probably be the last car I post, there just doesn't seem to be any interest in stuff like this.

Think it would be funny to flip the yellow slope on the face so it's horizontal, then it would look a lot like a Birdbot Although right now it already looks like Parakeet-bot lol

While I don't like most old LEGO sets, I wouldn't mind having this one with the mods you made. I like the shape and features, I just think it needs some more "modernizing" to make it even more badass.

The only thing creepier than the dead horses on the merry-go-round are all the grey minifig heads on the fence, I can imagine they're all making hideous faces lol

Saber Scorpion's Decals Review
Henchmen4Hire replied to Henchmen4Hire's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I didn't want to start a new topic so I'll just post here. It's been 4 years since I got these stickers from Saber Scorpion and amazingly they all look as good as day I stuck them on. However, I have something to report... Wanted to say, I should have listened! I checked my figures recently and they all looked great except for the FemShep, and yeah she uses primarily DarkBley stickers. They faded away and are starting to get that green tinge. I would definitely give them a quick coat of sealer and see if that would prevent this. However, considering I paid like $1 and it lasted 3 to 4 years, of course I'm not upset haha. I would still recommend SS's stickers to everyone. I'll get around to posting a pic of the Cortana, looks like I totally forgot about it- 9 replies

Here's a reworked version of my Mako, using recent LEGO parts to improve the model's accuracy. •Seats 3-4 figures, including the driver •Hatches on the sides open •Working suspension (rubber bands) •Cannon tilts up/down and rotates •Interior engine bay door opens to reveal a crawlspace (hollow rear) •Wheels are "locked" so they don't roll when on display, but can still roll by simply pulling them away from the axles a few millimeters. Notes •You'll need to print decals for the markings. The two DBley tiles on the nose serve as guides. I wish more people would try to build cars like this, maybe then they would appreciate exactly how hard it is to make them accurate, in-scale with figs, and sturdy.
-
I was recently wondering if anyone made roughly micro scale castles, and here we go, pretty cool
-
Eeeeyyyy, thanks lol I'm sure I could work in an opening hood, I would just have to lower the engine by a plate to accommodate the extra plate needed to hold the tiles. Any tips for an alternate wing? I'm more worried about stability, but I think it looks fine...if you can ignore the separation in the tiles lol. I tried holding the wedge plate vertically by wedging it between two studs, but then the spacing of the brackets and tiles is off

People today don't even know whether or not we even have a space shuttle lol

Only thing you forgot is the sign that shows those dented rims on sale for double the retail price lol

Someone should tell that guy to plug the hole in his toilet lol I'd say the toothbrushes are actually shavers and call it a day :p

Same here, I wasn't a Batman megafan but that cartoon got me interested in the rest of the DC universe. Batman Beyond was among the very best series DC had to offer, it made their other comics look dull in comparison, and I still haven't found another series to make me as excited as BB did. If you do try, be sure let us know what you do for the rear end :)

I had to look up this car... http://jalopnik.com/is-the-ae86-a-magical-cartoon-car-or-just-a-toyota-coro-1687437908 And even though I have no idea what the hell the guy in the videos is talking about, I'm still laughing, so thanks for bringing it to my attention lol Great job :) Also, hell yeah 8-wide thug lyfe!

Who's fender do I gotta polish to get some remarks around here

I like it, though it's weird seeing amazing stuff like this posted without at least an explanation of what it is, a reference pic, why you built it, etc.
-
Great shape, though I think it could use maybe 2 small wedge plates (or even a normal 1x? plate) in the middle-front under the glass, to help reduce the drastic drop-off there, as well as fill the gaps under the 3x3 wedge plates. Coincidence, I downloaded Blade Runner last week, been meaning to see it for the first time too, looking forward to seeing these cars :)

Really like the lamppost, I think there should be a competition dedicated entirely to them lol

Well, those are adorable and I need to order parts for them immediately lol I like how heavy the croc feels in that second pic, good posing
