Had an itch I had to scratch... WITH EXPLOSIONS!!!!!! MEEDLY-MEEDLY-MEEDLY-MEEDLY-MOW-WOW-WOW!!! TORGUE VENDING MACHINE!!!! •Hollow inside so you can store a gun, even a brick-built gun •The balls on the antennas (the top lights) connect to clips inside •On the left side, a hose piece should be used to connect the white plate with handle to the peg above it •You need to print out the graphics, like the face, keypad, speaker, etc. =================================================== BORDERLANDS: PRE-SEQUEL VENDING MACHINE I thought, oh, this boxy design should be easy, but I was wrong! •Front cover separates so you can store loot inside, it's held closed by a peg on the left side. •Needs a few stickers of course. This is the vending machine that has the GUNS IN SPACE face, to make the others simply change the paintjob. ==================================================== BORDERLANDS 1 & 2 VENDING MACHINE This is the basic vending machine, used the Ammo version in green. The ref pic I used had the drawer closed, but I'm sure you can easily modify it to use an open version. •Front cover can be removed to store stuff inside •1x4 tile over the drawer area can be removed top reveal a cavity ==================================================== If you'd like the LXF files, please donate at least a dollar to my paypal account: henchmen4hire@hotmail.com I'll email you the file ASAP after. Though I'll probably send you the file anyway if you just ask, but it'd be nice if I could at least buy soup tonight lol

Where are the best BTTF Reference Pics?
Henchmen4Hire replied to Henchmen4Hire's topic in LEGO Licensed
The set should have been called "Butt to the Future" And yeah, I'll probably just make my own 8-wide design like I do with all my cars, because the set's design looks like it got wrecked by the Ugly Train. -
My friend is buying the Back to the Future DeLorean, but I think it looks like butt, and he asked if I could improve it. I plan on making it 8-wide, probably redesign most of it. Where can I find solid reference pictures of the car? Are there different versions of it? I'm not familiar with the movies so any help is appreciated, thanks!

survey Picture versus Video Reviews
Henchmen4Hire replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
In theory, a video review should be a quicker more streamlined look at a product than a picture review because the item can be shown in action, cutting down dramatically on the words needed to explain what it is, how it functions, etc. However, either kind of review can be crappy or great depending on the reviewer, and if the product itself lends itself well to the particular type of review. The thing with video reviews is that you have to be a good speaker and comfortable in your own skin to make a good one, or else your awkwardness is going to wreck the video and set everyone and their pets on fire. Picture reviews are way more forgiving, you can write in whatever voice you want, throw in funny pictures, give quick access to certain features, etc. For all you reviewers out there, figure out which type of review you're most comfortable with and stick with it. If you can write and keep people enetertained, go with that. If you have a horrible personality, please dont even bother making reviews, unless they're so over the top bad that they're hilarious to watch lol The most important thing to keep in mind is that no one really gives a shit about toy reviews. Your review isn't going to dramatically change someone's desire to get a toy or not, they make that decision moments after having seen the toy. Make reviews as a form of entertainment for yourself, don't feel like you have to follow some boring pre-made review layout. Why would you want everyone reviewing the same things in the same way? That's incredibly boring. Find your own voice. -
Saber Scorpion's Decals Review
Henchmen4Hire replied to Henchmen4Hire's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
•They look about the same as that image, maybe marginally better. Once on your shelf you can't see any grain anyway. It also depends on the color, the red stripe on Shepard up there is solid red, no grain. •These are thin paper labels, probably printed with a laser printer or whatever prints sharp lines. •They're not vinyl/plastic stickers, like some of the G.I. Joe reprouction guys make. If you want vinyl stickers, you could ask those guys if they'll make Lego stickers for you. •They're paper, so they act like you'd expect on spherical surfaces. They lay flat just fine on things like a visor, but as you can see on the brown figure, I left the the top tip of the shoulder pad unstuck so it wouldn't form a crease. •They're about as durable as a label, if you don't abuse the thing, like dunking it in water or throwing it in a pile of stuff, they'll be fine. They're not made for playing. You can safely make photo-comics with them or whatever though. •Like I showed above, the edges are white, because obviously a printer can't print on the side of the paper lol •The stickers look as good as when I got them, no color change. I never left them in direct sunlight though. •If you're worried about adhesion, it's always a good idea to lightly sand an area before you stick anything to it. I haven't had any problems with these stickers peeling off though.- 9 replies

I'm not in love with that chunk sticking out the bottom, would look better without it, though I'm not sure how it would land lol

Cool, I would change the nose piece to black though, it looks a little too much like a bird right now lol

It just looks like the world's worst soccer ball to me lol I like the alien designs though

VHT Vinyl Dye to Re-color LEGO
Henchmen4Hire replied to Henchmen4Hire's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Yep, might as well try it out! Also, about masking the VHT, it worked okay, though it penetrated regular paper masking tape enough that it stained a little underneath. I think if you use electrical tape or something non-porous you won't have a problem. -
VHT Vinyl Dye to Re-color LEGO
Henchmen4Hire replied to Henchmen4Hire's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Looking forward to your results! I'd like to add a more positive note about this VHT Vinyl Dye stuff: I tried painting a NERF gun with it today, and it did a flawless job! The gun looks as if it were molded in black, every little scratch and detail is intact. Here's the thing though, I lightly sanded the gun before spraying it. Sanding removes the plastic's slick surface, allowing the dye to penetrate, which means if you want your LEGO pieces to have great results you're going to have to sand them. Use a fine sandpaper, something that will remove the slick surface but not cause noticeable scratches. Another thing, the surface will be duller than a LEGO brick, more like a Megablok's sheen. You might consider using the gloss version of the dye and see it that matches LEGO better. Otherwise you could just buff the piece until it's shiny. -

Hi Bogey, sorry for the late reply, I haven't been here for a while. I haven't tested masking, but I'm going to try it soon on a NERF gun. I'll let you know what happens. -
Not that many people seem to like the supercars I made up, so here's a real one, a Noble M15. Noble M15 by Henchmen4Hire, on Flickr Noble M15 by Henchmen4Hire, on Flickr Noble M15 by Henchmen4Hire, on Flickr Noble M15 by Henchmen4Hire, on Flickr

Ah It's not bad, it just makes the area above the fenders look taller like on an old Corvette.

Very cool, always happy to see exotic car designs. And here's a quick tip for anyone who wants to make transitioning from an even number to an odd number of stud width for a truck cab/bed (like from 8 stud to 9 stud): Simply use a few offset plates on the chassis and you get a solid foundation. No need for tricky or delicate techniques that make the model unstable. Obviously I use technic beams as a chassis but this method can be adapted to other chassis types too.

Yeah, I never make yellow things so this one is fire yellow orange or whatever lol. This is some kind of experimental supercar, lots of air intakes, lots of cooling and venting, lots of speeeeeed. It's driven by an AI because no human can drive it and live

Here's another imaginary supercar, this one is beefier like a muscle car. A massive engine, big wing, and canopy windshield make it go faster!
