  1. That is one bigass llama, awesome lol I like that the scene looks vivid despite being a bunch of rocks and dirt.
  2. Some people see just a bunch of chains wrapped around a stick, and some people see the chains as a representation of the cyclical nature of the follies of Man, repeating their mistakes in a self-perpetuating spiral of self-loathing. ...or something haha Great shaping :)
  3. Is there a way to build tops so that they whistle or hum as they spin?
  4. I don't know what scale it's in, but give my old Soyuz TMA-9 / FG Rocket a look, might find it useful for ideas at least. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/66303-soyuz-tma-9-fg-rocket/
  5. New hood is way more interesting and looks better then the flat surface from before. Maybe see if you can use the existing bricks to make suicide doors as an alt build? I dont know anything about the car, but if Drag brought it up it must be important in Rolls Royce culture lol
  6. For a second there I thought the bushes were spelling out something lol
  7. Please share your paragraph, I enjoy seeing crazy people rant about 2 year old MOCs that are tributes to 20 year old aesthetics lol

It warms my heart to see that at every port there's always a...um...pretty girl waiting for our brave sailors lol
  9. It's a little chubby but I like it lol. Fitting name too. Is there any way to work a grill effect into the recess in the nose? Like maybe a SNOT [1x2 grill tile] or a [1x2 grill brick]. I think it would look better than just having the back of the recess be solid white.
  10. Heh, they're a little derpy looking in the first pic but I guess that adds to the charm. Dr Ro-butt-nik is adorable
  11. I got bored so I tweaked your model. It reminds me of the old Ninja Turtle van :p Rear window slit is one plate taller, streamlined the body a little, black tiles inside keep the doors from folding in, but the most notable thing I added is sliding step bars. I don't know how stable it is but it looks okay lol Here's the Studio file if you want to tinker with it http://www.mediafire.com/file/yx3lhaq3ii81385/VAN.io
  12. I like it, it gives me the impression that it was someone's everyday van and they converted it into a taxi. Things I would change though: •The two black [1x2 grill slopes] on the nose; maybe change them to a [2x2 yellow tile]. I think the slopes look weird against the round body, the tile would look more natural. •The four grey [1x2 grill slopes] over the rear engine; change them to yellow. Using yellow grills would make it look like the engine is recessed into the body (giving it more depth) with vents there, instead of like a solid wall of engine parts. •I agree with Kev that the blue slopes need a change, maybe just make them a [1x4 tile]? I'm guessing you need that there to keep the door from pushing in too far. Also, what's that pink horned creature on the roof from? I remember seeing stuffed toys of that at SDCC a few years ago but forgot to come back to the booth
  13. I think this is a good excuse for someone to recreate some of the landscape from the Mad Max and Borderlands games, there are lots of eye-popping rock formations in those games and can be easily passed as the Martian surface.
  14. I would change the vertical tan bricks to 3 plates sideways, that way you can recreate the tan-l.gray-tan pattern, or even l.gray-black-l.gray.
  15. Yeah, like with anything you'll work out kinks as you go along. Be sure to come back and let US know any tips and tricks you find lol
  16. After seeing this, museums are now way up on my list of favorite MOCs. I want to make so many photocomics with that building! The white "marble" mannequins that accentuate the ancient armor and weapons are my favorite bits here.
  17. I like the idea, and I like the back half, but I think the front prongs need to be rounded. Or maybe angled, or horizontal or something. They're very in-your-face-sharp compared to the rest of the rounded body.
  18. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you intentionally placed the tail there so it would create a cool red "eye effect" on the Rectifier's head dome :) I think the legs are too skinny though, maybe snap on a [1x1 clip tile] to the robot arms?
  19. Hoooo-boy, 6 years flew by and I'm still a goof. I got a request to reupload the images for these old reviews since they were deleted. I found the ones for this rev on an old hard drive, so here they are for you to enjoy again. Thanks again for the reactions, gabbing with an active community is why I liked making these so much. As always, praise and hatemail is welcome. If you're looking for someone to do reviews for your fledgling site, please consider hiring me for a stint, I need soup!
  20. Those giant cheesy grins are exactly how I look when I get enough pieces to build a car too lol They're gonna look snazzy with those stickers
  21. I can tell you from experience that giving away free instructions and and hoping people pay what they want will net you very little profit. Currently I offer instructions for my builds if people donate at least a buck so I can buy soup, and it has worked out okay. Not making enough to brag about, but at least I get a meal now and then. Sometimes I give the instructions for free anyway, I'm not going to die if I don't get a buck after all. Don't get discouraged if no one wants to buy your instructions though, not everyone is into the same themes you may be. I like cars in 8-wide, but only about 3 other people in the world like that so I don't expect too many customers lol. If you're making Gundams and Transformers and shiz then you'll be more successful. People are definitely conscious of expensive parts, I make sure I don't use rare parts to keep costs down. If you do this, make sure to point it out somewhere as a selling point. Also, it's important to build your models with real bricks to easily spot and fix weakpoints. I just designed a Batman Beyond Batmobile, ordered the parts, and as I was building discovered a tiny offset when connecting plates to technic bricks that didn't show up in the building program. Now I have to rework the model a bit, but I'm glad to have found the problem.
  22. Looks techy with all the angles, nice color scheme, it's a little intimidating, I like it.
  23. Updated pics I reworked the body, it's about 2 plates narrower, and probably shorter too. Changed the front prongs, added airbrakes, added exhaust, etc.
  24. I'm having a hard time understanding what the topic is, I'm guessing there's a word filter at play. But from what I can glean, those sets described in the first post sound cool, where can we check them out?
  25. I thought this might be useful for new builders out there. Car Butts by Henchmen4Hire, on Flickr This is a look at how I built the rears on these 8-wide cars. To start, I messed around until I got a versatile template that let me build in all directions. It was simple in the end, the black [Brackets] attach to the [1x1 Brick with side stud], which rests on the Speed Champions [Mudguard]. The two grey [Modified plate with side studs] let me add tiles or whatever to smooth the trunk lid area. After adding a plate to the [brackets], facing the sides of the car, the length from plate-to-plate is 7 studs wide, so you can use [jumper plates] to neatly fill the space and create interesting designs. Everything can be as flush or as staggered as you want. For example, the plates going towards the sides of the car can be flush with the body, or you can add [slopes] to add a$$- I mean, to add mass. lol I'm sure another SNOT brick or plate can be added to build upsidedown too (maybe to add greeble to the undercarriage?), I haven't needed to yet though. This could possibly also work for the car's nose, though I tend to use one-off builds there because I like leaving space for an engine. There you go, hope it helps. Feel free to share your techniques for building cars! Maybe we can make this some kind of encyclopedia for making kickass cars.
