  1. I've been looking for a way to display my trading cards and thought maybe I could use Technic beams to build a frame to hang. The idea is to glue card sleeves to a piece of display board, place a thin sheet of clear rigid plastic over it, and sandwich that between the Technic pieces. Then I could give the border a veneer of tiles or plates to decorate it somehow. I think using LEGO would also give me the advantage of making custom funky shapes, maybe I could even make the frame modular so I can add/remove sections on a whim. For example, this is for Pokemon cards, so I could maybe make a "small" Magnemite shaped frame for a few cards. For a larger frame (about a meter wide), I could use the plates as veneer over the beams and maybe brickbuild shapes onto them, like pokemon silhouettes, badges, etc. Do you think this is possible? Too expensive maybe? If I would be better off just using a prebuilt poster frame, please feel free to message me suggestions.
  2. Bought the recent Team Sonic Racing game because I'm in desperate need of an arcadey racing game. I'm glad to find out for myself that the negative reviews for the game are grossly exaggerated (as usual). ------ Sometimes I read people say that LEGO is cool but making MOCs or fan art can be overwhelming because of how many parts are out there. While that's true to an extent, I counter that while there may be a staggering number of ways to build the same thing, there are only a handful of ways to build it so it actually looks good haha. I think I got close to the original design here, and it doesn't totally suck, right? Tails Racecar [Team Sonic Racing] by Henchmen4Hire, on Flickr
  3. I like utilitarian MOCs like this, though we seem to be a small fan club Is the barrier around the transformer there to stop rogue shopping carts from hitting it? lol
  4. Looks like a prisoner transport ship to me
  5. Love me some Storm Boyz with Claws and Speed Freeks! I like how unpretentious Orks are, they're big and mean and they'll pound you with a rokkit until it explodes, and that's all there is to it. Excellent theme! lmao
  6. Finally revamped this ride with new parts. It's 1000% better than the old model I made, it actually looks like a car this time instead of a dirty red pancake with wheels lmao •The Wasteland Angel's car is loosely based on a beefy Mach 1 Mustang from the '70s. •The cylinders in front are supposed to be miniguns. •It's in-scale with all my other sweet 8-wide cars.
  7. I'd get rid of the soldiers, the shop machines are the stars here!
  8. If you put each piece in a piece of stocking and dip them like teabags, that could eliminate scratching if needed.
  9. Thanks bub. I've made like a dozen over the past few days, and while they seem to get little attention, at least theyre a nice change of pace from the cars I used to make.
  10. It's too monochromatic for my liking, but def a cool scene
  11. I like it, but I can tell you from having made a similar organizer that bits are gonna be falling off all the time, especially if you have an active workspace, very frustrating and distracting. In the end I went with very simple Technic beams and that was way more practical and useful.

  13. Haha, yeah, if only I could afford new bricks...or real bricks for that matter. Yep, I think these warrior type characters look better with some weathering.
  14. Needs a few stickers to add the graphics, but I'm happy with it. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/PmmGQ1
  15. Hera has refined French girl looks, so adding a nose felt natural. But the more I look at it the more it looks like a goblin haha. I saw someone use dinosaur tails for her...head tails, but I think these blocky ones fit the chibi aesthetic more. They're connected via a hinge plate, got the idea from a random search. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/lVVr9Y I've been posting an eclectic collection of Brickheadz MOCs the past few days, check my Art Station or Flickr gallery to see them all.
  16. •I used a lot of [1x2 Round Plates] to give Athena a "softer" vibe. •The "tooth plates" came in handy again to give her an hourglass shape and the vest. •Used the round plates to give her buttcheeks. Whatever, it works lol https://www.artstation.com/artwork/oOObBm
  17. Haha, I don't know what's up with the images, they're in funky places on my screen too. I'll repaste and see what happens. EDIT: Even using different links, it still looks weird :/ EDIT2: Ok, I removed all formatting, don't know why that fixed it but there you go I posted a link to my Art Station, you see the other pics there too :)
  18. Hey bub, you inspired me to make Brickheadz of the Dredd and Anderson from the latest movie. I really like the massive chin on your Dredd, but I had to tone it down on mine lol
  19. There are very few movies I like, and the most recent Dredd is one of them. •Tweaked some areas between the two figs to make Anderson look more feminine. Slimmer shoulders and jaw, some modified plates near the chest to give it a more hourglass shape, 1 plate shorter, etc. Since Dredd is taller, I could add a plate to give him a crotch lol •Rookie Anderson has Pearl Gold bits and fresh new Red trim, Dredd has Dark Gold bits and Rust trim. •There are clips in back to store a shotgun, baton, etc. All the pouches on the belt can also be modified of course. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/PmmmL1
  20. A slick layer of sealer definitely makes painted things easier to wipe clean, so even just for that benefit it's worth using.
  21. There we go, added the team I've made so far and thoughts on Brickheadz design in general
  22. No sealer needed, if you scratch something hard enough to damage the paint/dye, sealer won't have protected it anyway.
  23. (More pics at my Flickr gallery https://www.flickr.com/photos/96352782@N05/) Only 2 days ago I started looking into Brickheadz, and since it seems like tons of famous characters have already been made, I figured I'd make some unsung heroes. After a few of these builds I've already found things I would change about the standard designs: •From now on I'm making the legs 5 plates high as default. •If I need to lengthen the torso, I stick a [4x4 Round Plate] under the [4x4 Plate] connected to the legs. •I move the ears forward by one stud, I think they look weird in the official position. •I'm not a fan of how the official "buff" character arms are made, so I designed my own. (And they rotate!) •The 2 [1x4 Plates] at the neck can usually be replaced by a [4x4 Round Plate], the roundness looks much better on females and normal human chars like this. •You can make a bellybutton indent by using [1x2 Round Plates]! •So many ways to make boobs lol. The yellow on Raff's chest is meant to be a pendant, though I could definitely see this combo being used for a Batgirl.
  24. One of the many Ducans oppressing our heroes in the Relic Hunters Zero and Relic Hunters Legend games. They're cranky space ducks intent on destroying our past. •The eyebrows, arms, and tail can hinge/pivot. (I hope this is in the right section)
