  1. Ok, I will close this topic now. Thanks everyone for the amazing entries. The quality of the buildings is very high. I think voting will be difficult for everyone... The voting will start in a few days, more details will follow.

  3. Well, Jim is on holiday right now, so I don't think you will get a reply very fast and certainly not a new competition/build-off
  4. Entries Here is the list of entries. You can see the entry number, the author and the main image. The image links to the full entry, most of the times with a lot of extra info, images and the file (so you can download it and take a look if you like). So, please, click some links and look at the amazing buildings everyone has made. A lot of them have a lot more details in- and outside that you can't see on the first picture 1. 5. Very nice model. I also love the picture on our Flickr with all your recent sculptures on 1 shelf.
  6. Well, except for food and clothes, I buy almost everything online. I'm quite lazy... Here in the Netherlands, there are 2 great hardware related sites (tweakers.net and hardware.info) which have a database of products (and the product information) and webshops and it shows the prices of the products for a lot of webshops. Especially the Tweakers one is very good. It's worth taking a look, although it's Dutch. Go the the webpage and click on "Pricewatch" at the top, the rest isn't that difficult. There you can search (for example) your RAM, sort on price, amount of GB, filter on speed, sort on review score etc. etc. I use it a lot. Hmm, sorry, it looks like a messy post. I always write messy posts in the morning...
  7. The deadline is at the end of April the 15th (because 24:00 is the end of a day and 0:00 is the start of a day), so there's still some time left.
  8. Well, since the beginning of the contest, it says: What exactly have you done? It doesn't look like you changed a lot? If you wouldn't have said anything.... EDIT: Ah, wait a minute, I see where everything and all the confusion came from. The entry thread has the old version of the rules, where the line "except for the rendering category" is missing. Oops Well, uhm, this is getting complicated.... On one side, I should disqualify you, but you actually did follow the rules (at least, the ones that were there). On the other side, if I would allow you, it would be unfair to the ones that already entered with the new rules in this topic...
  9. Apple Their products are not bad in terms of hardware, but their software and the company itself are just.... Well, I don't like them... I will never buy an Apple product. But, if you are satisfied with it,that's nice
  10. That's also a nice version. How does it know when to stop? Or doesn't it and just stops at a certain time?
  11. Nope, as it says in the specific render category rules, you may not edit the picture in any way. The render image should be the image that comes out of the renderer.
  12. You may edit your entry until the deadline So, of course you can add something in the lxf, but the voters will (porbably/mostly) vote based on the image, so it's up to you if you want to update the images.
  13. Well, it would be nice if you could submit (and make pictures of it) as 1 file, but don't feel too pressured by the deadline, I will also accept it as 2 files
  14. 1. As long as it is buildable in real life (and won't collapse when breathing to close ) it is allowed. 2. Well, then you need to buy a new computer. No other solution possible Nah, you may submit it in 2 files. Maybe someone could merge the 2 files? I don't have that knowledge of LDD (i'm more of the LDraw side), but maybe someone like bbqqq can merge the 2 files
  15. It would be useful if you would give an example of such an empty file
  16. Fun to have, although I (and probably you) can;t read anything of it... Anyone knows how it's oging with Lego in Japan? Is it quite well-known, or you do have to make a Sherlock Holmes case of it to find a shop that sells it?
  17. Nice mocs! About the Flickr sizes: to get another size, click on the three dots on the right sidebar, just under the little slider that shows other pictures of your stream. It's super annoying, because then you need to choose "Download/all sizes" and then "view all sizes"... A lot of extra clicks compared to the past

  20. The lens flare is fine. Post-processing is after the render, so photoshop and that stuff. You may add the F1 car, as long as you render it all and don't cut and paste something in there
  21. Just a fun reminder for everyone here: Tomorrow is the 4th birthday of this topic
  22. Well, that's up to you, it's a free build. Only exception is of course the scales smaller than minifg, they belong into the the micro category and should follow that rules.
  23. Are you talking about the RCB render in the render category? Well, maybe that's not very clear, but the render category is about the rendering and you can pick any model (as long as it fits in the topic) to render it. Of course you need permission from the author (if it's not your won model) and it may not be a model submitted in the contest by someone else.
  24. I love those Tiny Turbo cars. In fact, I was planning to make them all in LDraw (although most of them are already made by C3POwen in the LDraw topic) and render them all and make a big poster of it and print it (on a real poster size). I started and already got like 5% of the poster, but then I didn't had enough time anymore and I forgot it...
