That looks great... Despite the wonky statue! I especially like the rear of the building and the clever use of parts (ie pickaxes and daggers!) to add interesting details.... Excellent work!

That is a fantastic looking building! The windows especially stand out with all the detail around them. Excellent stuff!

Thanks again for the kind words... This week our update is courtesy of the hit TV show "Where Are My Pants?" Broadcast weekly to minifigs around the world, the show is a mixture of comedy sketches, interviews with pant-less celebrities and special features such as "Postcards from...". In this segment, the show's host visits a popular tourist destination and describes some of the sights (while in the process of looking for his pants of course!). This week the "Postcards are from..." Ballabreek! Let's see what he has to say... "Despite it's rural location, Ballabreek is easy to reach thanks to the region's fast and efficient modern tram system" "The village grew from a small mining community in the 18/19th centuries. Now only one mine is still in operation, located just outside the village" "The village itself is home to several historic sites. Including the world's smallest church still in regular use" "Of course, if historic buildings aren't your thing, there' always the great outdoors. With many miles of footpaths and nature trails you can take in the fresh countryside air and enjoy the wildlife" "And finally, there's the option of just relaxing by the beach" "So there we have it.... Ballabreek, the perfect place to lose your pants!! Why not visit soon and see for yourself?" Thanks for looking... Comments are welcome as always.

Excellent stuff.... I have to admit that realistic looking cars are one thing I've never really tried (and if I ever did they'd never be this good!) But you seem to have nailed them perfectly... My favourite is probably the white coupe.

I do like a good boat model and this is an excellent one! Nicely designed it'd be suitable for modern or western era themes. Nice work!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures - The LEGO Movie Series Discussion
greg3 replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hi My local Toymaster store (in the Isle of Man) had them in today for £2.49 each. No sign of them yet in my local WHSmith though. -
Nice classic vehicles!! I think they're both excellent but I especially like the way you've done the bus' bodywork. Looking forward to seeing more!!

Something like this? Minion Cat Mrs Scratchen-Post can work fast when she wants to!! It's still a WIP (in fact you can see her Bricklinking blue arches on her laptop!) Any other ideas for cats are very welcome (no promises though!)

Thanks Here's a quick group shot I forgot to add to the first post...

Very cool!! I love the little hidden secrets but it's the little details like the little record player that make it for me!! Excellent work!

More pics of the cats (and any new ones that I, sorry, I mean that Mrs Scratchen-Post comes up with) will be posted here http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=91333

Hi I've been thinking of ways to include the Lego Movie sets into my current Lego layout and themes. Most sets/characters are ideal for Town or Superhero/Action Themes. Except Unikitty... How could I make use of a colourful brick built cartoon cat? Well, my solution was to copy the Cow Parade art projects you see around the world and have Unikitty as a bit of modern art in my town - designed by talented (and slightly mad) artist Mrs Scratchen-Post. But then I realised that one cat is hardly a parade so I've come up with a few more. My "rules" were that each cat should have a 3x1 arch brick body (wish I'd checked colour availability for this part first!!) and a 3 stud wide head. Here's what I've got so far... Snow Cat Sand Cat The Ship's Cat And finally, Stealth Cat (supposed to look like a stealth fighter from above!) I only planned to make a few but it's got a bit addictive and now I'm seeing cat designs everywhere!! Currently i'm waiting for more 3x1 arches before stating work on; Cop Cat Construction Cat Fire Cat Pizza Cat Postman Cat K.I.T.T Cat Pirate Cat Segway Cat (?!) The Loch Ness Cat SuperCat And whatever else I see that I think would make an interesting cat! (So watch this space.... Oh I could do Space Cat too!) Anyway thanks for looking... Comments are always welcome. Cheers

Hi This week we're off to Ballabreek's small park, where a new public art project is being launched. Similar to the Cow Parades you see in cities and towns around the world, Ballabreek's Cat Parade 2014 will involve a number of cat sculptures dotted around the town. Each sculpture will be decorated/modified to make them all unique. The idea is the brainchild of local artist, cat lover (and many would say, oddball!) Mrs Sratchen-Post. Here being interviewed as locals are invited to view the first few Cats. Mrs S hopes that the community will be become involved in coming up with ideas for more cats based on local businesses, as well as wider world issues and themes. Now a quick look at the first few examples; Unikitty is Mrs Scratchen-Post's first sculpture in the series and designed to represent the creativity of the imagination (or something like that!). But for many it also represents the chance to take another "selfie"... The rest of the first batch were all suggested by Ballabreek schoolchildren in a recent competition. Snow Cat and Beach Cat The Ship's Cat And lurking in the bushes.... Stealth Cat!! As you've probably guessed, this was a way of using the cat character from the Lego Movie sets but now I'm getting quite into designing cat characters so watch out for more Cats coming soon!! (I'll post close up pics of the individual cats in the Special Themes Forum later) Thanks for looking, comments are always welcome...

Hi After getting some of the Lone Ranger sets over Christmas I've been inspired to create my own Western town. Most of the buildings will be MODed official sets (either LR or from classic western) but I've a few ideas for MOCs too. This is my first, a Pony Express Relay Station... This pic has already appeared in a recent thread about my modern town of Ballabreek (my Western town will be called New Ballabreek and will have been built by settlers from Ballabreek) so here are some more detailed pics. The exterior is based on a picture I found online of the real life Ruby Valley Station. There were 2 types of Pony Express relay station... Swing Stations where riders simply swapped horses and Home Stations where they could also swap riders and then rest/eat. My station can fulfil either role. The interior is again based on internet photos, this time of exhibits in a Pony Express museum. You can see it contains a fireplace, bunks and other items needed by the Station Keeper and any relief riders staying there. The Station Master (here on the left) had to make sure a fresh horse was always ready and that the change over was as fast as possible. Being a station master could be a lonely and dangerous job and many were killed when their stations were attacked by hostile Indians. The rider himself carries the mail in shoulder bags - in reality it was carried in a mochila which was a special sort of saddlebag carried on the horss's back. He also carries a bugle to warn stations of his approach and a rifle to defend himself from hostile Indians, bandits or dangerous animals!! Thanks for looking. Any comments are always welcome...
