Hello! I would like to show you my rendition of the Chez Albert Parisian Restaurant :) There aren't many things in common with the beloved modular, I simply wanted to have my own idea about what a Parisian restaurant may look like. And the one from creator was simply too small.. So without further ado, here it is: It all began in January 2018 when we visited our family and they had this painting on the wall (reproduction of a fragment only): This served as inspiration to my build which of course was not an exact representation of that building, but it was a good start. It took me around 18 months to complete this party due to size, family obligations and some "great" ideas I had like including all interiors and a 9V lighting system for the ground floor and one of the rooms on the first floor. But I like the effect :) You turn the lights on and off by removing part of the awning which gives you access to old style 9V battery box: The building is modular: On the ground floor there is the restaurant together with toilet for the guests and restaurant kitchen. There is also a staircase leading to apartments upstairs: I also thought that including a part of build that no-one will ever see or notice is brillaint idea, here is the restaurant ceiling for you to enjoy ;) You can also see all the lights - 3 for restaurant, 1 for the entry and 1 for kitchen. Then there goes floor number one and first apartment with bathroom, corridor, bedroom and living room with kitchenette. First view from the top: and view of the kitchenette: Second floor has similar layout, just different finish: The attic is a typical place for singles ;) No dedicated bedroom... and a view of the kitchenette (a shot from a WIP): and last but not least - the roof! It was supposed to be flat, but since this is LEGO it bends up like a boat... I plan to complement this building with another one of similar size. Together they will form a small wall of buildings, a mini version of a street. This is already a work in progress that will likely not be finished this year. But who knows ;) I hope you enjoy this one for now :)

First up a mention to @Superfunk for their awesome mod which served as much inspiration, you can check out their fantastic Parisian work here. Modification project goals: Increase the width of the structure to the full width of the baseplate Make the ground floor symmetrical with the rest of the building Keep and and enhance the beautiful iconic French architectural style Add an extra floor Update and add minifigures Maintain stairwell access to the upper floors Not order any additional parts, only use parts on-hand (parts not included in the set are present but nothing new ordered) Parisian Restaurant is often one of the most acclaimed and loved Modular sets and is also a personal favorite of mine so it was important to tackle this with as much love and respect to the original design as possible. It was quite the challenge but I feel I've achieved a look that I like even more among the others as its no longer being imposed upon and also gives the gorgeous French architecture more presence. Enjoy! The updated/added minifigures: Maitre d, head chef, pastry chef (baker CMF), head waiter, wedding proposal guy, wedding proposal girl, artist, baguette guy (CMF), cool French guy, baby with oversized head The head chef says he's got tears because he was just cutting onions but he's a big softy and is upset the girl said no to the marriage proposal. Added some more accessories for the kitchen. Centered the wine cabinet with the front entrance and rest of the building. Don't let the waiter's prickly appearance deter you, its rumored he lost his eye while serving as an officer in the Foreign Legion which would explain his strong sense of discipline and great leadership surpassed only by his love of all things French. Second floor apartment. How could it be a French building without French Doors? Not sure who came up with this design first but I've seen it on a number of great Town/City and Train MOCs. Let the sun and fresh air in! Third floor has bedroom and bathroom. In Lego world minifigures take baths with their clothes on and get the 'water' everywhere. The the increase of size in the top floor art studio has allowed the artist to create some larger works. No idea how she'll get it through the door but oh yeah the side of the roof conveniently opens. And finally how it looks with some of the others.

Do you feel it? Feel these smells? In the air there is a quaint mixture of flavors of fresh baked bread, strong coffee, young cheese, spring flowers and of course the most fashionable perfume. Dear friends, welcome to Paris! I invite you for a walk along the Parisian pedestrian streets. In this set I decided to recreate a little piece of this beautiful city. A wide pedestrian street is divided into 2 narrow streets to simulate the winding streets of Montmartre. This project is called "Parisian alleys" This is the continuation of my modular pedestrian street. Like the first set this set has its own interesting story and plot for the game. This time the plot is related to with magic and dark forces. Behind the gloomy door there is the office of Madame Brochant, the famous fortune-teller and witch. Get ready to meet with ghosts and evil spirits! Inside the three buildings of this set there are: Bakery; Artist's workshop; Shop of paintings; The room of a young writer girl; Cafe "Green Windmill" Cheese shop; Fashion boutique. This is a very detailed set with beautiful interiors and buildings. Finally got some decent photographs of my town, ObiVille (named in honor of the true ruler of our house - Obi the Cat!) It's 'Standard' Lego build and lives on top of my two Ikea Malm draws in my 'Lego' room. I do have room for 2 more modules if I can find somewhere else to display my Death Star (which currently sits nicely in the corner taking up lots of room). And finally the great leader and Lego Chewer himself, Obi: You may notice in some picture 2x2 turquoise bricks - these are cat deterrents as they sit upside down with a few drops of Olbas oil in them which he wont go anywhere near! I coveted Pet Store for a long time but surprised myself when i finally got to a Lego store that I came home first with Palace Cinema. Then I got Pet Shop followed by Town Hall then Parisian Restaurant. I think Town Hall was the easiest and fastest to build as it is mostly building with less interior detail. Parisian Restaurant made my fingers ache and probably put my blood pressure up with the tension of building it right as it had so many smaller components. I think my favorite alternates between Pet Store (which just makes me smile with it's cuteness) and Parisian Restaurant (whose colours i love the most) I think the pictures came out really well today. It was a really dark dull day and the household energy saving bulbs make photos look yellow. I was taking photos with my Daylight/Sad lamp above my head (which is about 30x40cm and not lightweight) - my boyfriend thinks I've gone nuts!

Hi all, This is my second mini modular, after the mini palace cinema I posted a few months ago. I just cant wait to see the actual parisian restaurant, which looks like the best modular building lego ever released. What do you think of it ? Edit : V2.0 :)
