Planet: Donwarr Log of Agent G: Still stationed on Donwarr. I'm beginning to really dislike this planet. I was assigned to try to make peace between M.A.N.T.I.S. and the Na Vohz. When I arrived at the camp, I had probably killed half the insect population underneath my boots. You haven't experienced bugs until you've visited Donwarr, I mean, It's really spectacular, the ground is almost a solid, writhing mass of bugs, like that one scene from that old Mantiana Jones movie. Really gross. On crossing the lines into the camp, I was acutely aware of the Sliver they had on guard. The giant bugs had obviously noticed the bug muck on my boots, and they were no pleased about it. Even with my State of the Art armor, I could feel the beat of their wings, I kid you not. More on the Sliver can be found in my last entry: Log entry 100253. Thinking ahead, I had skinned a surprisingly white lizard to use as a white flag. You think M.A.N.T.I.S. would give all of their explores one, but they don't so I had to make do. Well, another interesting fact about the Na Vohz: They are devout worshippers to Maloh, the great god whose stomach we apparently all live in. It's complicated. I found that out from my last time spying on the Na Vohz. What I didn't know, was that they believe that the physical incarnation of Maloh is the rare white lizard that lives on Donwarr. Needless to say, the peace talks didn't go well, but like any M.A.N.T.I.S. explorer, I took it with stride. Oh, one more thing about the Na Vohz: they chop down an area of trees, usually in a circle, build a stone wall with one opening, and then herd their prey into it, rendering said prey helpless while the Sliver riders attack from above. Rather ingenious. - G Note to Judges: The Green bug is reused, the red bug is new. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! Location: E01 Donwarr Tags: MANTIS, spying Double D's log 34: This week's mission was simple, and kind of hilarious. Octan had lots of small surveillance cameras in a certain sector on Donwarr. My mission was go to with Wheelie and stall their cameras and then paint them in MANTIS colors. A few hours later when Octan recruits came to check on them, they thought that we replaced all of their cameras with MANTIS ones, so they actually destroyed their own equipment! It was so much fun to watch, and it was actually kind of nice to have a more relaxed mission. ~ DD out

Location: F02 Lesser Drigo Tags: Spying, Spaceship With the MANTIS and Octan fleets both in orbit around Lesser Drigo, it was only a matter of time before MANTIS would capture an Octan vessel. The MCS Trade Winds, a Merchant Confederacy ship, was on a supply run to the surface when it was intercepted by MANTIS. The crew was kept for questioning and MANTIS command saw an opportunity to use the vessel to infiltrate the Octan spaceport. They put together a group to pose as the Merchant Confederacy crew in hopes to gain information on Octan's fleet movements. Note to judges. The Octan truck is reused and should not be judged. Hawk: You three stay here. I will go and scout the area and see if I can get into the control tower while they unload the ship. You guy wait for my signal. - Spec Ops1- Hold it there pilot. The base is on lock down. There are MANTIS spys everywhere and you need special clearance to get past this point. Hawk: Sorry sir. I hear those MANTIS guys are vicious thugs. Keep up the goo…. Spec Ops1- That's enough small talk. Please return to your ship. We will be performing inspections soon. Hawk: Yes sir. - Hawk: This is bad. They will be around soon to inspect the ship. They will find out that we are MANTIS for sure. Snake: I say we go in and blast them with our death ray blasters! Sue: Yeah! Hawk: Are you two crazy? Do you know how many of them there are out there? Chogg: Chogg have an idea. Chogg is master of disguise. Chogg: Mister robot man! Could you help me here. Robot: Affirmative. Chogg: Robot is needed in the control tower. Spec Ops2: Sure go right through. Hawk: Wow Chogg, I can't believe that actually worked. Chogg: Chogg given top secret spy gear from CEO - Spec Ops3: Don't move MANTIS scum. You may have been able to fool my partner some how but your not fooling me. Chogg: Chogg has good news and bad news. Hawk: What is it. Did you get the data? Chogg: Chogg got data but Octan got Chogg. Location: F02 (Lesser Drigo) Tags: Spying, Land Vehicle I’ll be at my destination in about 3 minutes, Scroggins. How you comin’ up there? Easy, Anders, I just got my tether secured. You’ve got 3 minutes then, to get those updates installed so we can start the calibration. MANTIS isn’t going to give us all day, you know. Besides, I’m dying down here, it’s so hot! No problem, Anders, I’ve already got the new filters in, now I just have to wait for it to reboot. Who knew that the atmospheric conditions around Lesser Drigo would mess with the algorithms Starstriker built into the Amplified Radar? Once we get this calibrated to the planet’s conditions, we should be able to keep tabs on Octan’s every move. Yeah, yeah, whatever. I didn’t sign up for a science lecture, okay? I wanted to learn to be a spy, that’s why I signed up for the Spydar™ program. Instead they got me drivin’ around in the friggin’ desert listening to Mr. Wizard here. Didn’t they tell you the Spydar™ program was maintenance of the radar programs we’ve put up all over Andromeda? Besides, work for MANTIS long enough, and you’ll be a spy yet. Location: F02, Lesser Drigo Tags: MANTIS, spying, land vehicle Double D's log 33: Upon arriving on Lesser Drigo I was sent into one of Octan's facilities that had many Octan servers. I was given a simulator device to put into one of the Octan servers that would then copy itself onto the system and then copy itself onto any other connected servers in a subtle manor. The key, invisibility. Of course, I had a sweet getaway vehicle, and it's the fastest one yet! ~ DD out

Tags: Spying Location: E03 - Ertauq This is Sergeant C.R.A.P. I've been decrypting Octan data for 5 rotations straight. My eyelids sqeak everytime I make a programmed blink. The encryption is difficult, but the captain has been a prisoner of Octan for a month now. This might be the first breakthrough we've made since that fateful mission. I am very close to cracking the codes for security cameras at a classified octan location. I don't jnow which planet this facioity is on, but that will come soon enough. Here comes the video. They've even taken the captain's glasses. And here comes the audio. "Mr. Pangolinus. You are going to reveal the coordinates we're after. There is no escape from here." Location: F02 - Lesser Drigo Tags: Land Vehicle, Spying Vedauwoo and I have been dispatched to Lesser Drigo for a quick spying mission. Our job is simple, ride out and locate Octan climate control towers and affix wireless M.A.N.T.I.S. tech which will allow us to track and even take control of the devices. Location: F02, Lesser Drigo Tags: Spying Log of Agent G: I can't believe this. I get back from my vacation, and they send me on a spying mission. On Pombe, no less. M.A.N.T.I.S. always has at least one spy on Pombe at all times. We would just bug him, like we usually do, but he doesn't wear any clothes. Oddly enough, this is not the strangest situation one of our Pombe spies has gotten into. But what could he be doing out on this abandoned walkway with a figure dressed in red...? I'M BACK! yay! Location: F02 Lesser Drigo Tags: Spying, Spaceship, Land Vehicle For being a desert planet covered in lava flows, it was amazing to Hawk that water was the number one resource on the planet. Mantis Command wanted info on how Octan gathered water on the planet and where it was located. A number of Octan moisture evaporators had been found with the information gained from the mining satellite on F03. Hawk was given a semi-autonomous Hazardous Environment Mining Drone from MANTIS command to help him hack into the Moisture evaporator. The drone had been developed for operations on the surface of Torresta, so not even a lava flow would slow it down. - Hawk in his Hornet Gunship lower the Hazardous Enviroment Mining Drone, or H.E.M.D for short into position. - H.E.M.D: Unit is ready to serve. Input Command. Hawk: Alright, cross the lava flow to the evaporator, and hack the controls. You also need to extract a data chip for HQ. - H.E.M.D.: Unit has received commands. Begin Execution? Hawk: Yes, begin - H.E.M.D.: Objective reached. Hawk: Good jod H.E.M.D. H.E.M.D.: Commencing Hacking. Activating laser saw. Hawk: Wait what? H.E.M.D.: Retrieving Data chip. - Hawk: Stupid drone. H.E.M.D.: This unit performed all of it's tasks given. Any error is in the controlling unit. Hawk: I suppose you did do everything I asked of you. H.E.M.D.: I detect two lifeforms approaching. Activating laser saw. Hawk: No wait. - Myserious Native1: Greeting MANTIS warrior. We represent the Flamosian Resistance. Ever since the ones you call Oktann arrived on this planet, they have been setting up their poison machines and driving us from the surface of the planet. Hawk: You mean the moisture extractors? Mysterious Native2: Yes. What you call water is a deadly poison to our kind. Thousands of our kind have perished. Ever since MANTIS has arrived, we have observed that your kind is dedicated to the destruction of the Oktann. We would like to aid your warriors in this effort. Hawk: I wouldn't say dedicated. Location: E02, Jurin II Tags: MANTIS, spying, water vehicle No Escape by David FNJ, on Flickr Double D's log 32: Well, I think after this week Octan will finally get the message that Jurin II ain't theirs anymore. I followed the new recruits from last week and noticed they were checking a lot of small island equipment. So, I took a team with me and we followed them from a distance. Of course, it wasn't too hard with our spy tech - the stealth technology is fully integrated into many of our vehicles and computer systems. Our watercraft being a type of airship helped too because it is nice and quiet. Once we overheard the Octan recruits say it was "finally, our last stop," we made ourselves known. It was hilarious, they scrambled and ran into each other, making the confiscation of their weapons easy. After sinking their small watercraft, we then proceeded to let them know that we had followed them for the day and hence knew where all of the (unguarded) islands with that type of equipment were. We even let them be first-hand witnesses of what a few MANTIS blasters could do! We left the island and the two recruits on it. We told them we'd be back for them in 32 hours just in case Octan doesn't look for lost employees. ~ DD out ----------------------------------------- One cool feature of the airboat is the bomb-deployment. Just push down on one of the engine-looking things, and a bomb drops. The bomb is held in place quite well.

Nav system is recalibrating...hmmm. That's odd... What? I'm picking up a lot signals on the scanner, but I don't see anything out here...not a ship in sight. They're not submarines, are they..?! No, the signals are too weak to be any kind of a ship...it must be... Oh no! Kill the engines! What's wrong? We're in the middle of a minefield. That's what all these signals are! Location: E02 Jurin II Tags: Land Vehicle, Civil Building, Spying Continued from part one here. - Hawk: HQ, the base seems to have seen some sort of fighting. There was no sign from out side. Whomever did this must have been good. HQ: Go to that terminal over there and override the security systems. - HQ: Alright Hawk, the upload is complete. We have basic door controls, but any data will take a bit longer to retrieve. While we do that, there is a room that is showing abnormally high energy consumption. We would like you to investigate further. Hawk: Sure thing. Point me in the right direction. - HQ: just follow the opening blast doors. - Hawk: Any idea what happened here? HQ: We're still working on it. Just focus on the mission. - Mysterious Scientist: Welcome MANTIS drone to my lab. Hawk: HQ what is going on here? He shouldn't be able to see me. Mysterious Scientist: What is going on here is I can see in many different spectrums that a normal human cannot due to the gifts they gave me. My hearing is also enhanced many times. Worker 1: Don't listen to him!!! Mysterious Scientist: Silence! There is no need for violence. Let me introduce myself, I am Sebastion Osmium. I have set this lab up with the goal of creating the perfect subjects. Hawk: I am beginning to see where this is going. What is with these two? Worker2: Don't let him turn us into one of them... Sebastion: Silence! These two will become my next subjects. Octan needed more troops for their war effort, but when they saw my plan, they cut all of my funding. Fortunately for me, the Zoids were more then willing to hear what I had to say…... HQ: High command has given the green light to eliminate the scientist. There will be a bomber wing incoming so I suggest you move fast. Hawk: Well that escalated quickly! - Sebastion: Gah!!! - Worker1: Thanks Worker2: Yeah thanks. I thought we were done for. HQ: Just got access to all security cams. You have a group of hostile contacts incoming. The route to your speeder is cut off. You need to find a new way out. Hawk: Are there any transports nearby? Worker1: My hover tanker is on the South Dock. if we could get to it I could drive us out of here. HQ: Cams are showing that the route is clear to the south dock. I will try to keep them off of you, but there isn't much time. - Sebastion: All Zoids, they are going to the south dock! I want them all alive! - Hawk: They are almost on us. Location: E02-Jurin II Tags: Building, Vehicle, Piracy, Spying Job: Explorer After a long vacation, MANTIS had another mission for me. Un-like most of my previous missions, this one involved infiltrating an Octan base and gathering information about a chemical that accelerated plant growth. I was thrilled to find that two of my good friends, Isaac Redsyn and Massi Editoro, were also on the same mission, as well as a MANTIS commo. Isaac was of course assigned to be the driver, which was to be expected. What wasn't expected was the vehicle he would be piloting... An Octan hoverplane. So, you're sure you know how to drive one of these things? Of course I do! I've driven tons of rigs! ... Apparently not enough though. Could you get this thing right side up for once?! I'm trying, I'm trying, but it keeps going every which way! Where are the brakes on this anyways? Hoverplanes don't have br- Massi to helicopter, are you guys ready up there? We might be, if Isaac knew how to drive this... Almost, we're getting into position. Stand by for signal. Roger. In position, proceed with distraction. Yes sir! Here you go little plants, drink up! Go, go go! What was that?! I've got it! Go up, go up! Mission accomplished, good job everyone. Now to take it back to the lab for the scientists to test and analyze. Get to the Computer you're supposed to hack, and find out where their Holding the captain. Big Sal also needs to know where some Octan sub is operating over on Jurin II. I hate cramped spaces. They’ve had about enough, I reckon. You’re right, they’re surfacing fast! Now remember, we don’t want to add to M.A.N.T.I.S.’s image problem, so try not to kill anyone. There’s no hurry; it’ll take them days to fix the damage to their engines, so just knock them out or throw them overboard. Ugh, PR takes all the fun out of life. Ready to board – go, go, go! Location: E02, Jurin II Tags: MANTIS, spying, land vehicle Spying in the Lab Ruins by David FNJ, on Flickr Double D’s log 31: I was continuing my main mission about make things difficult for Octan, but this part of the mission was more subtle than last week's. Ocean seemed to be moving its weapons around the planet, and I was to find out where such weapons were being moved to, and why. I came across an inexperienced bunch who were leading a small automatic cannon that used Octan maps and sensors to move and fire at targets. Ha, obviously their scanners aren’t that great when trying to find MANTIS spies. I followed the presumed new Octan recruits through the ruins of a MANTIS lab that was destroyed when Octan first took Jurin II many months beforehand. It provided nice cover, and even creeped out the Octan recruits! “I feel like we’re being watched” “I know the feeling, but it’s by Octan satellites, so we’re safe…” “But MANTIS agents are everywhere!” “I haven’t seen any, have you?” “No, and that’s what worries me! We’ve never seen one, and they’ve slowed our operations down more than we expected!” “Well, if everyone does his part and brings our weapons to the more fortified locations instead of trying to mine in many places on the planet, not even the MANTIS spies will be able to stop our advance. Plus, our fleet is waiting on E01 for when we finally take back this planet from those bugs.” “But what if we don’t get all of our weapons back to the fortified mining facilities? Our fleet can’t penetrate this system until we have a secure place to let them land!” *scratching noises* “Um…wait! Did you hear that?” “Stop teasing me!” “No, for real this time!” I fired up an old generator that sent an eerie hum throughout the ruins, and the sound could not be traced back because the noise bounced off of the broken walls and equipment in every which direction. *eerie humming noises* “Let’s hurry and get out of here! My mission was to infiltrate a plant where the fruit was washed and introduce the mithril solution to the water supply. I managed to hitch a lift into the plant with two agents hidden in barrels… --- Well, I guess now I know who M.A.N.T.I.S. buys its doors and air con units from… Now remember: when I say ‘Octan’ you’re to pass the mithril solution out to me.
