[Factions Ep. 3] [Bouncers - P11 - Ruusan] [P11 - Ruusan - Triumvirate] Recce on Ruusan
Ross Fisher posted a topic in Factions Archive
*Your entry has earned 3 XP* Leaving Mimban, I was hastily re-routed to Ruusan. Apparently the High Council had a deal with a smuggler out of Fort Nowhere to ship back some artefacts. I was to act as the courier. I was about as unimpressed as you can expect. I'm a career diplomat, not some hick freight hauler! But since the Triumvirate were paying the bills, I could hardly refuse. Still, I didn't exactly want to spend a whole lot of time there. Smugglers are rarely good company, and the Native Ruusanians are inbred yokels to boot. About the only thing on Ruusan that did interest me was the "Bouncers" - adorable little green globular beings that look exactly like the kind of thing you'd see at the other end of a target range. Apparently they're sentient, so I resisted the itchy trigger finger, but it was not easy. I vowed to myself that if ever there was a war on Ruusan, I would do my utmost to make it to the front line. -
[Factions Ep. 3] [Bouncers - P11 - Ruusan] [P11 - Ruusan - Triumvirate] Recce on Ruusan

Thanks. The build really didn't take me long at all. Literally just putting plants in a field, so I wanted to have a few extra details to raise it up. The Bouncer is one of my more unique builds for this episode, I'm proud of the way Fnab's rifle sits on his back, and the scope effect worked nicely as well! -

[Factions Ep. 3] [Mimbanese - O12 - Mimban] [O12 - Mimban - Triumvirate] Mission to Mimban
Ross Fisher posted a topic in Factions Archive
*Your entry has earned 2 XP* Well, it wasn't all going to be sunsets and cocktails, I knew that. Still, when the first job I got was a recce mission to Mimban, I wasn't exactly ecstatic. That mud-bowl has been hit as hard as anywhere by the Star Wars: The Mimbanese fought for the Republic against the Separatists and for the Rebellion against the Empire (and the exact same troops they fought alongside nine years earlier). That meant I couldn't really go around identifying myself as an officer of the Triumvirate. Sinking my feet in the clay pretty much confirmed my fears. This entire world is a meat-grinder that could bog down a fledgling empire like the Triumvirate. The Mimbanese are borderline isolationists, and have absolutely no time to be part of anything bigger than themselves. Letting go of this planet after Jakku might have been one of our biggest mistakes. There was still some hope, though. The Mimbanese weren't the only indigenous race. I didn't manage to gather much information about the "Greenies" during that mission, but I knew that they managed to stay out of the wars. Archive files regarded them as subversive. But, it seems likely that this attitude was formed in consultation with the Mimbanese. My recommendations to the High Council were: 1) To avoid military invasions if at all possible; that planet consumes resources that could be better used elsewhere. 2) To consider empowering the "Greenies", who would likely be better-disposed towards an Imperial remnant than the Mimbanese. 3) Hell, High Council should've considered just re-routing the Nanth'ri Route from Zalonis to Fabrin. Honestly, in the end it might've taken less time and effort, and fewer lives and credits than what actually happened. -

Dear Brother, You might've heard that I'd recently been incarcerated in debtor's prison due to a misunderstanding over upkeep on a fort I'd commissioned. Well, the good news is that I'm now at liberty again. It seems Monsieur Gallo was able to clear up the book-keepers' errors and restore me to freedom. Of course I'm still livid. How can this be allowed to happen to a patriot and a devout follower of the Aplynacian Brothers? Even worse, some Corlander rapscallion was somehow able to bluff his way into my quarters, and insult me. You wouldn't credit it was possible! Anyway, I am currently regaining my health in the small house Monsieur Gallo is renting on Acropolis. I have a mind to set the world to rights, but for now, I must rest. The Underlord guide your steps, Jules. Letter from the Abbé François to the Viscompte François, dated October 619. After building the Chateau D'Ouennes as a Maltese Fort, I wanted to give a nod to the standard Maltese house front, which is very commonplace on the island. I will be submitting it as a small residence. Hope you like it!

Alas, that ship has sailed. Those bricks are now back in the box from whence they came. The Abbé doesn't attend debauched drinking festivals. I'll see if I can send his opposite number. What time does the challenge end? -

@Captain Genaro Abbé François' response: To those responsible for defence and/or military honours, I have just spent several months in jail. This jail was built into an Oleonaise Fort. A fort that I commissioned and paid for with my own money, in order to better fortify our own colonial waters. A fort that cost me so much in additional payments that I was forced into debt. A debt for which, I was imprisoned for several months. I have given much for Oleon: blood, gold, and effort. None of these things I begrudge. I can renew my stock of each should I intend to carry out my duty. But time, gentlemen; time is something I do not have a renewable supply of. And what I really don't have time for is pretentious local governors refusing me an audience because I have recently left prison. Therefore, what I want you to do is restore me to grace. Grant me whatever honour it takes to cancel out the disgrace of sacrificing your good name for your country. I am a patriot and a devout Aplynacian. I will not suffer further delay. If I cannot restore my reputation, I will be forced to cut short my mission to the Brick Seas, and return to Granoleon. Be sure that I will make it my job to thoroughly investigate those who held me back. Yours in faith, Abbé Jules François -
