[PORSCHE] LEGO Technic Porsche of Your Dreams
CollinsLegoTechnicDen replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
, Interesting the size regulations correct me if im wrong but I do not think there are many creations of cars bigger then that being as most 1:8 scale cars fit nicely under the limit -

[MOC] 1:7 scale RC model of old Unimog 401
CollinsLegoTechnicDen replied to Tamas Juhasz's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You impress me ! not the prettiest thing but a similar remark can be made for the original ( allthough I can imagine how annoying the front wheel fenders must be , to readjust after every little knock ;) )- 26 replies

42056 - Porsche Speculation
CollinsLegoTechnicDen replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hmmmmm , I am now wondering what is still to change I hope they make the wheels bigger they are far to small and a bunch of other nick knacks in the body work and interior that i'm no fan of The steering wheel could be a bit bigger too , But who knows the ones sent out for review could be the unfinished version but with the release date a mere month away I feel Sariel's review can only be a matter of a few days away now . As for the difference between June and August release I would Imagine no changes would be a bit unfair if you had to wait 2 months for a better version of the model. I know Im buying one to mod , but then again you cant improve on perfection -My thoughts Collin- -

Technic 2016 Discussion and Speculation
CollinsLegoTechnicDen replied to Ondra's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
No your about right there but TLG has done stuff with coca cola before with set 4071 the studios set and they did something with Lego harry potter back in the day too I just cant remember what ( but this was all many years ago and I would imagine TLG would avoid anything that might spike controversy ) . On a less political note ;P is there any confirmation or really solid evidence for the Porsche being Fully RC ? -
[MOC] Working Elevator
CollinsLegoTechnicDen replied to legolifty's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The perhaps most useful one to you would be part 879 electric sensor ( Touch sensor ) I think it is RCX or something I dunno much about these ones :) -
[MOC] Working Elevator
CollinsLegoTechnicDen replied to legolifty's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
you seem to know what your doing but on sifting through my old electronics I found all the old electric touch and such sensors perhaps these could be off use I would need someone better processioned in that area to confirm though -

[MOC] Working Elevator
CollinsLegoTechnicDen replied to legolifty's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
A couple of things to point out for your benefit dude - If you use an SBrick and bluetooth you can completely conceal the receiver and operate from a longer distance - It would be difficult but not impossible to devolep a gearing system to stop at floors without the use of NXT and the same goes for opening the doors It could be done Both of these would take some work to get working smoothly but I have a rough idea and It would save you a few bucks ,Oh and lastly the roof bit looks epic mate ! , tonnes of detail Sincerely - -Collin -
Technic 2016 Discussion and Speculation
CollinsLegoTechnicDen replied to Ondra's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Everyone seems to have a decent reasoning on the anti military licensing crisis but in saying it they made sets like the Sopwith camel (a plane that killed thousands of people ) so CAT indeed seems possible but not with out a push TLG got a push for the volvo because a set designer new someone at Volvo and the Acrocs because of past partnerships on the unimog . The Porsche brand name has been featured in Lego with Speed champions and as far as I know TLG has pretty much ripped off claas directly with all there lime and red so 5 licensed confirmed sets by late March seem justified . On the axles strategy everything seems expected as stated we have had axle color changes in the past with the 2L notched axle ( Black to Red ) and other color changes too allthough I must note that changing a part to a whole new color for slight color matching is not a phenomenon that happens to often at TLG so there is probably many more reasons perhaps moving away from LBG / black as a heavily used color . On the Porsche your dead right but the porsche shall most likely remain silent until something biggg drops maybe final design Parts list ? or something that will probably be in a month or a bit but who knows . Looks like im not even bother with 1H this year but just keep saving for 2H ( although the volvo does not appeal at first glance ) just my random thoughts - Collin - -
1:8 scale Technic Ferrari 488 GTB [wip]
CollinsLegoTechnicDen replied to CollinsLegoTechnicDen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
yeah I know what you mean dude but I have been doing this sort of thing for like 5 years and yeah the patience is another big factor but that and the savings I also have so I feel it is worth a shot :)
