I registered for the mstery raffle almost imediately. This was before avatars were needed to be the size they are ment to be. I did not check back on the mystery raffle page untill today to find that we had to change our avatars to the guidlines. So will the admins allow me to change my avatar now? (given that I was unaware of the situation)

No, it doesn't have to be 100x100. That's just the maximum size. So anything under or equal to that is fine.

Unluckily I missed that event and consequently didn't sign up . So I'll have to look after these events next year more precisely.

Ahh, but you've answered your own question! The avatar rule is not new; it's just that I realised I needed to remind people or otherwise I could end up with either a blank calendar and/or one with 24 2000x2000 images. Thus it's not really a new rule, I just described it that way as I didn't want to give away why it mattered.
