But more seriously, reckon this is a kinetic sculpture?

It's a normal harvester, not a forest harvester:

Yeah the JD 9700 is a forage harvester

This could lead to some interesting color combinations.  Perhaps even some cool color transparent or other elements.

If TLG continues this trend this could lead to some neat developments. There can be some interesting elements in space exploration vehicles.

That sounds interesting

42167 Mack LR Electric Garbage Truck - 503 pcs - $34.99

42168 John Deere 9700 Forage Harvester - 559 pcs - $42.99

If true, Mack LR would be made with smaller tires than 49.5 a d Deere would have max. 81mm tractor tires at front and 56 at rear; something like shortened 8274; we will see when the time is right...

Looking at the price and number of pieces of 42171, I have a feeling it could be motorized?

Also Space Technic FTW.

Have we ever had 13 sets in just first wave before?

Or a bike, same as 42159...

TLG really is aces high and goin' all in with the John Deere licence! Judging by the part count, the 9700 might be more in line scale-wise with the 9R.

More Mack stuff, yay! And that tiny dozer sounds cool as well. I'm most curious about the "Space Wheel Loader", though. Like the ZEUX, but built for Mars? Cool stuff!

Still too many cars, and no Monster Jam? TLG, are you for serious? That licence had limitless possibilities!

After a few crappy years, though, this lineup is looking totes amazeballs!

This is a hugely important model as it is the first automata-like model to come out after the Technic series logo design changes to its current one.

Technic is getting a new logo?

EDIT: Sorry, misread your comment.

From this

To this

1000x800p.jpg?1657660872.8285966

And I tried to search every technic set and surprisingly this is last automata-like set in technic lineup.

If we didn't count bionicle/slizer, universal sets, star wars, some competation things and expansion set like motor sets.

Hell yeah, VTOL spaceship - Lego getting the scoop on all of the secret technologies at Area 51 :alien::alien::alien:

wait no nvm, i totally misunderstood your comment lmao. Yeah seems to be, I wonder whether we could get a JWST one day with its unfolding bits and bobs, or even some other Martian rovers

I would more like to have the old Blacktron series continued or some of that era - no fckng licences needed, as they just increase costs for customers and limit creations to be somehow realistic (and maybe less functional in the end)..

edit also there is no real VTOL spacecraft available irl - so I would hope to just be fantasy scifi

Interesting to see TLC possibly making an orrey. They're relatively popular with MOCers though earth-moon ones are rare.

I found an Ideas user with two MOCs on the same concept, which might give us an idea on how they might function. Lego's version probably won't be as detailed since it's in the Technic theme, though:

With that PPP they might use prefabricated sphere elements.

lies, open your eyes sheeple

but yeah it'll be sci-fi, like the BMW R 1200 GS's B-model

I find the LT78 and LT81 names interesting, they seem to be completely original. I wonder if they could be intended as partner sets? The vehicle choices and the corresponding piece counts make it seem possible...

It looks very strange, especially the space theme, and these are definitely Technic series models, and not City?

more like fake...

Is it true? A technic set that isn’t a vehicle? That has to be the first in FOREVER, right?

Nice list though. But we’ll see if the sets are as nice. There does seem to be once again another $220 42096 Porsche RSR reskin…
