LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I noticed that on the AT-ST box as well. I wonder if the art was done by LEGO's graphic designers or if it was supplied by Lucasfilm? I wouldn't be surprised to see the same shield appear on Hoth themed Star Wars products across the board.

Took no chances this year, ordered 6 the moment they dropped last night (along with the Ahsoka brickheadz). Probably should have just stuck to 2 at that price but I needed to reach the free shipping threshold somehow.

Likely supplied by lucasfilm, if it was done by lego's graphics team I'd imagine the troopers would be minifigures. I can't think of a scenario where LSW has had exclusive, non-legoized images.

I guess your reward for waiting weeks later than the rest of the world was a higher purchase limit, over here it was a max of 3.

Did anyone in Australia manage to get a Snowtrooper battlepack last night? It’s already sold out on Lego.com.

I had it in my bag as I was buying some other stuff for my son's birthday but figured they'd be readily available at some point at discount so didn't bother as I was already at the free shipping threshold.

Built the Hoth ATST during the cricket the other day - really enjoyable build (the only other ATST I have is the smaller one from the Endor Bunker set), although the Probe Droid is a bit fiddly and broke apart a couple of times during construction. The driver and Dandruff Chewie are great minifigs too.

I know, we need a more accurate helmet for the new boba! I still don't think we'll get more than one or two BB sets since, well popular, it wasn't as explosive as the mandalorian, or even clone wars S7. I do think we'll get SOMETHING if for no other reason then what you mentioned, that they can essentially just do a ROTS vehicle and have the figures be BB figures.  I'm pretty excited for the new list too, I'm hoping there's a proper ion cannon or shield generator, as well as for more BOBF and something, anything for Kenobi.

Agreed! Now that the summer Ninjago set list has been released by Promobricks, hopefully this means lists for other themes will follow suit. The Bad Batch show was fine I felt, the premiere episode and some others were fantastic, but the rest of the show was quite bland in my opinion. More than anything, we need some bad guys for the Lego batchers to fight!

On the topic of the art badge thing on all the Hoth-related set boxes, I wonder if we’ll get these for sets based on other films and shows too? Lego’s new box art style is so much better than what we’ve had since 2019!

Yes, I’m dying to find out what the summer waves for Star Wars and Marvel will be! (Indiana Jones too if that theme’s revival rumor pans out.) I generally agree on The Bad Batch too by the way, though I did warm up to it quite a bit once I was able to binge watch the whole season instead of waiting week-to-week.

I’m also wondering about that art badge thing. I thought it was really cool when I spotted it on my first Hoth Battle Pack box, and it was also on the Hoth AT-ST box. I got the Razor Crest Microfighter too and there was no badge on that set, though that could just be because it’s a Microfighter. I guess we’ll find out when we see the boxes to the March sets, or if they just did this to make it really apparent that these sets are a part of the “Hoth Collection”.

UCS Falcon, ISD and Tantive IV all had similar symbols on their boxes and instructions that I haven’t seen used anywhere else.

Just to put the leaked prices from before alongside some of these:

75321: $529.99

75323: $159.99

75332: $29.99: 87 pieces

75333: $29.99

75334: $49.99

75335: $99.99: 1062 pieces

75336: $99.99

75337: $139.99

75338: $69.99

75340: $44.99: 329 pieces

75242: $39.99

75243: $59.99

$30 for 87 pieces? Perhaps a new format of set with very specialised pieces, or a 4+ set?

The website specified which sets are 4+ (for example for Jurassic World), so judging by it it's unlikely. Maybe it doesn't specify for sets that release in 2HY tho.

Interesting. Perhaps they're increasing the price of battle packs by another $10?  Seriously though if the price for 75332 is indeed correct it'll be interesting to see why it's so high for a piece count so low.

It does, as the 4+ Mickey sets have been found as well

87 pieces for $30?! *huh* What the **** kind of set is that supposed to be? :laugh_hard:

This is outrageous! It's unfair! How can you be a $30 USD LEGO set and not have at least 200 pieces?!

Apparently it‘s a 4+ set after all :shrug_oh_well:

Noooooo
I mean, good for the kiddoes

Mostly, yes. For some reason, the Star Wars 4+ sets never seem to include new minifigs, in contrast to the 4+ range of other themes, so they‘re not as interesting to most collectors

Jesus, what's with the prices this year? Even if the rancor is molded, that's absurd. I think that's as bad as the souless one set!

What? Even for a 4+ set that $30 one is ROUGH, and the advent calendar price increase is upsetting. On the contrary, unless the 1062 piece set is comprised exclusively of 1x1 studs, it should be a pretty good PPP value.

No way in a world of battle packs, minfigures packs, and Microfighters, 4+ sets exist…

Sigh, what a waste. I’d love to be proven wrong, though.

Ah. Maybe it's just a thing they're doing for these big collector sets (again showing the new hoth sets are direct tie-ins)

There is a difference. Battle packs and minifigure packs are to get figures for cheap-ish, whereas 4+ sets are usually low-complexity, simple-to-build versions of iconic vehicles kids would want. The only real overlap is the microfighters, which still have a pretty major difference, being that microfighters are tiny, but still detailed, versions of ships, where 4+ sets are very simple, but still much larger than microfighters, and usually have more figures and base/terrain builds to have a bigger play experiance. Look, 4+ sets clearly aren't made for you or me, it says it right there in the name. That doesn't mean they're a "waste", they're meant for little kids! Now, the pricing is REALLY bad on this one, and I don't see what could possibly be in this set to justify it, but I don't see how you could say the mere existence of a 4+ star wars set is a waste.

Isn‘t the Rancor supposed to be included in the palace set?

Yeah, isn't that the boba fett set, or are there 2 unrevealed sets we know are boba fett? (In which case the price of this one is even worse)

There are indeed two: 75326 Boba Fett’s Throne Room, which is coming in March, and 75325, a set scheduled for June :classic:
