The only way I see an Acolyte set being attractive is one that includes Darth Plagueis - because of Darth Plagueis alone. But even then Lego has to take a leap of faith producing a set based on source material almost universally disliked, especially if required to include new moulds like Qimir's helmet.

The confusing part about The Acolyte is not that they‘re ignoring it now, it‘s that they decided to just outright skip it from the beginning :snicker: You can argue they dodged a bullet, but it‘s not like they knew about the reception beforehand. They‘ve done plenty of sets based on unsuccessful shows and movies, after all. (yet also managed to avoid flops like Soupgirl)

I still want a set with Qimir and Sol, but that‘s one rare LEGO wish of mine that I know will never be fulfilled. There‘s a higher chance one of my Ideas projects gets picked, Kirby becomes a theme, DC gets revived properly, and Indy comes back with every set containing a personal apology letter than an Acolyte set :hmpf_bad:

As for the Acolyte, regardless of what others think I do wish they'd covered it.

It's interesting how people's perception and perspective may vary based on their own beliefs and opinions. I think it hits the nail in the head right away. :purrr:

Well, if we go down that rabbit hole, there's like no coming back from it anytime soon. What about Tales... of the Jedi, Empire, Underworld, Maul Shadow Lord, proper Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor sets... The moment we're done complaining about sub-themes getting completely neglected by Lego, we would be actually missing out on the TIE Avenger release... that's how long it would take. :snicker:

By all means, that's like the lowest bar you could possibly imagine. I don't wanna jump to early conclusions, but it probably doesn't get worse than TROS.

I think an official Darth Plagueis minifigure is a viable option for the foreseeable future. However, I don't see it coming with a full force Acolyte themed set. No, I think it will be more like a Cal Cestis situation. And Plagueis too may come in the most expensive set of the anniversary line-up; 2029 would be the obvious timeframe for that.

The Acolyte deserves at least some of the flak it‘s getting. The twins do suck as main characters and everything to do with the cringey witches can go die in a fire, but Qimir and Sol are great characters that deserve better than this. Yord and Jecki were stand-outs too :sweet:

I still think a set with Qimir could sell decently since he‘s clearly the best thing about the show and even people who dislike it usually agree with that

Can anyone provide me the io file for the Boba fett 75455 set? Looking around and there is nothing so far and I would like to see if I can do a few mods including a Jango Fett design.

Even if someone can point me in the right direction, that would be helpful.

I mean that was sort of the point, he mentioned 'the worst piece of Star Wars media' and for me The rise of Skywalker takes that cake and I've seen every Canon Show and Movie, Read dozens of Canon books, several legends books, a fair few comics, The OG clone wars and even most of the toddler show and TroS is my least favourite of all. So we agree there!

I don't know if they've done it and I don't have the file but there is a section in the forums for digital Lego and they do have a thread for official sets built in LDD (it's probably slowed down with more sets relying more and more on post LDD parts, though fan updates do exist for LDD) and there might be a similar one for stud.io in that section too?

I mean I did mention all of those things as things that TLG had unfairly snubbed, partly thanks to the traditional set range being diluted by display sets and experiments. Acolyte was hardly even my main point it just got singled out because of it's unpopularity. (And while I still do like the shoe they did mess up big time on how they portrayed Vern in my opinion)

While I disagree with putting it above Acolyte, you have successfully highlighted the uh highlights of the film. Palps being there doesn't make sense but Ian is so fun as Palps that it's (almost) forgivable! And Babu is Babu Nuff said

Ha, the way you describe Episode IX, is how I see the Acolyte. Deeply flawed, but there were some positive aspects that could have paid off at the end, but ultimately didn't.

Old Palpy serves no purpose whatsoever other than being one gigantic member berry. It's just the wrong kind of fan service Disney is so susceptible to fall for. Babu Frik is a cute little fellow, though. Speaking of which, does anybody want to take him off my hands?

TROS is honestly deserving of every little bit of flak it got. So too does the Acolyte, minus the few promising protagonists and antagonists.

Anywho, following the aftermath of all these recent... updates, not upgrades mind you, I wanna make myself crystal clear: the 2027 summer wave better deliver some banger sets that we all want to be bangers... and better be beyond that. I want to witness an no-nonsense approach when it comes to the potentially sacred Bounty Hunter Pursuit modern makeover. The Ewok Village better be great as well, though given it's nature as a large playscale set, there's more room to screw things up, I think. But every risk can also serve as an opportunity to make the most of it. Other than those two sets, what's left that we didn't already know about and what will be released prior to that? There still gotta be quite a few question marks remaining and looming in the background, right? Or are we actually all set for the big Summer wave already?

Acolyte also has the merit of some fantastic lightsaber choreography. Best out of any Live Action D+ show anyway.

Alright, that's fair. As far as I'm concerned, though, maybe I would be wise to actually watch the whole thing, that being, sorry not sorry, the a-TROS-ity that is Episode IX, before making such claims. But based on everything I know and have seen of it, there's no world where I can even remotely imagine this ain't being the worst thing ever happened to a galaxy, far far away... But yeah, it remains the only widely available movie that I couldn't actually bother to watch through.

Yeah, no matter where you stand as  Star Wars fan, there will always be subject matters that got the short end of the stick in the Lego Star Wars world. Some are clearly more affected than others, but there will always sub-themes remaining with untapped potential.

That's so true... all of it. I would even go as far as to say that it basically edges out everything from the modern Disney Star Wars era. As the lightsaber duels from the ST are nothing to write home about either!

Oh wow... I just wondered why I suddenly couldn't find it anymore. I was following this project sporadically and just feared you couldn't reach 10k supporters in time. Now we're playing the guillotine game. What's the general ratio between eliminated and actually published Lego Ideas sets anyways, like 90:10?:enough:

I'm gonna say one thing: the only con I do accept for the Bounty Hunter Pursuit Re-Release is the obligatory too expensive asking price. Everything else better be up to snuff, though. :moar:

Definitely lower than 10% overall, closer to 5% in recent years. They usually pick 2-3 projects each round, and the minimum number of projects per round post-pandemic is around 50-60 I‘d say. The parking lot muddles the water a bit since they‘re carry-overs from previous rounds and thus harder to keep track of!

The trajectory of the TENG project was interesting to follow since it had very few ups and downs. It idly sailed to the finish line at a steady pace over the course of 14 months without any real boosts along the way :snicker:

My Umbrella Academy project on the other hand just received a huge boost (1.6k votes in like 5 days) and I still can‘t figure out why :laugh_hard: Must be them Tiktoks that the youngins are using!

Not trying to jinx it, but pricing aside, there‘s very little that can go wrong here. The minifig selection is pretty much guaranteed to be good with even the bare minimum (Obi, Ani, Zami) already being worth it, and the ship and speeder are going to be big upgrades of the 2002 versions by default. Probably one of the safest sets next year!

That said, watch it get cancelled :laugh_hard:

Oh, definitely. I was already talking about this more in-depth in here. Like you said, even the default minifigure line-up will be solid. They may only positively surprise us there. While the ships will greatly benefit from from some sleek new pieces and accompanying building techniques. Given the rather small size of both Speeders, we won't have any downsizing debates either, which will also work in favor of the set's stability. If anything, I could see them a tad too big in order to try justifying a slightly higher price point... similarly to this year's Cobb Vanth's Speeder. But yeah, as long as this thing actually exists and comes out next year as a regular playscale product, I'm gonna be quite relaxed about it. :moar:

If that actually happens, I will absolutely hold you, and only you, accountable for it all. :vader:

Kinda funny how these leaks work. Somehow we already know which poster is gonna be in a set releasing in 14 months, yet it‘s still unclear which January sets McQuarry Vader and R2 are gonna be included in :snicker:

Sometimes the leaker gets ahold of the poster assignment doc or talks to the poster assignment guy, but can't get locked down which fig is in which set because he hasn't seen that doc (or lego is still considering which goes where)

Also sometimes leakers just make stuff up or extrapolate from incomplete data.

It's the first live-action series they entirely avoided, but we're seeing that they are just ignoring some shows now, like MSL, which aside from being higher quality is objectively a much safer bet for sets. (Maul, Vader, and Mandalorians.)

As funny as it would be if somebody at lego was reading the showrunner's comments from years out and foresaw what would happen, I think most likely it's the one that didn't make it through simply because it was the first one not to star an existing character from the films. (Besides Mando, but that was not only the first disney+ show with a corresponding push, but the only pre-release set for it was an AT-ST). Just like how while it would be nice to believe there's a DC fan out there at lego who also hated how Woman of Tomorrow recontextualized Supergirl's divine fire angel wings as coming from a drug overdose, the real answer for why it didn't get sets is probably that supergirl's name is not Batman.

I hadn't even considered how cool Zam's speeder will look with 2026 bricks, even if I don't get the set it'll be a sight to behold.

Plus it's colorful, which always sets things apart in this theme.

My whole point is that it shouldn't be an either or  if they did less random experimental lines they'd have more resources to cover everything.

I agree with that, my ideal subtheme distribution in a year would be:

1 - Midi scale

1 - Diorama

1 - buildable character

2 - UCS/MBS

With the rest of the sets being playsets.

You got Midi scale for adults who are into ships/vehicles, Diorama's for adults who like specific scenes, buildable characters for adults who like the characters, and UCS/MBS for the big spenders.

For the longest, neither have I. This might be due to the original actually holding up quite nicely... for being a 24 years old set, that is.

Well yeah, welcome to the prequel era, I guess.

For me the problem with Acolyte is the very reason I cannot imagine a Lego set based on it: it is cynical, subversive, and sexualized. Jacked Qimir emerging from the water (similar to Bond girls...) and telling us that there really is no good and no evil, and the Sith are just as morally right as the Jedi... and the show is not depicting that as delusional or plain wrong, it overtly agrees. And the show runners did too.

There is a reason kids (used to) love Star Wars, and it is certainly not some post-modernist moral relativism. That makes it a horrible kids toy.

Yeah, that was really dumb, especially when you consider that Qimir isn’t toned down compared to other Sith. He has one of the highest on-screen body counts of any Sith, including mercilessly killing a teenager and calling her “it” afterwards, and they have the gall to pretend that he’s not evil and that the Jedi are just as bad? :laugh_hard:

When even the most “adult” show still openly keeps the basic good vs evil story intact that SW is and always has been without resorting to moral relativism, while you try to argue the Sith are just misunderstood, you know your Porg is cooked :snicker:

Yes, he will. Like at least $160 flagship set level of expensive just like Cal Cestis via the Star Destroyer.

I absolutely agree. There's too much optional, dare I say inappropriate... stuff kids have to deal with nowadays anyways. It's never a good idea to force the minorities mindset upon the majority.

Word up. I mean, there's a certain entertainment property which gracefully expanded upon this, while still retaining that very core of Good vs. Evil, but yeah... that's what it always was and ultimately should be. A fairly simple fairy tale in space. What you can do to keep it interesting and fresh is to highlight all the different perspectives from various factions throughout several timelines.

Exactly. Rogue One and Andor managed to introduce some moral greyness while still making it abundantly clear how evil the Empire truly is. If they did it like The Acolyte, the message would be that the Empire and Rebellion are equally bad or that someone defecting to the Empire would be justified :laugh_hard:

Criticising the Jedi can be done without justifying the actions of the Sith, because the PT did exactly that! And the High Republic was the wrong time period for that too since the Jedi Order was supposed to be at its best during that time. The cracks could start to show, but they went too far with it.

As for Plagueis: I don’t think we’ll see a minifig of his anytime soon, if ever. He’d have to be a central character in a show or a movie for that to happen.
