  1. Honestly larger scale is the reason people not showing up in the OT makes sense to me anyway. A Galaxy is a damn big place. Personally I'd prefer recasting to deepfakes. On the set front, if they did do Ahsoka season 2 sets (which unfortunately aren't a given) I hope they'd do a moulded Loth-Cat
  2. This a great Modular, the bus stop is a fun addition too.
  3. Jokerised Clones pack yoke and joke NR Compforce pack Baroque and Artichoke (dip) Not a want but a need. I hope Rotta's resurgence means they might Slip young stinky in one of the obligatory CW jedi and clone sets.
  4. We want a 501st battlepack Smoke and Broke (actually I do like getting them but they've almost gone too far the other way) We want a Nightsisters battlepack Woke and Bespoke
  5. Amen to this. That trailer was insane, I am hyped. (The Loth kittens concept art was cuter at celebration then the actual models shown a D23 but I digress) The lack of Lego coverage is awful especially considering the Ahsoka season 1 wave was great (the only time I've bought a whole wave (minus the Chewbacca) at release but I probably won't do that again I'd got a bonus but even if I want a whole wave discounts are inevitable and so should be waited for!) probably too optimistic to hope for spoiler sets in the summer but I can't help it. Also did the guy in the snowy force vision look like Galen Marek to anyone else? I do hope this movie is leading into the previously announced 'Mando-verse' culmination movie but with Lucasfilms current track record that movie might not still be happening. Praying to the force they use Shadow Lord season 2 to correct this. Previous season sets released on Netflix season hype isn't a new tactic.
  6. I think they've more been lazy because they can, he's a guy in a suit and they have plenty of suits, but this outfit is different so hopefully if they did it they'd do it right. A green suit would be nice but both the Xaviers so far have been generic so not needed specific detail. Doc Strange MoM wasn't my favourite movie (and they should've used Ioan for the Illuminati) but they could easily make a green suit Professor X for that scene with the Picard head too. (Though knowing how much they like using the MoM Strange where it doesn't fit they might reuse the mansion Xavier) Vision quest looks fun, I hope Ultron is brought back fully. Vision might be the powerhouse Sam's Avengers needs I could see them hiding him from the doomsday trailers so as to not spoil this show? This probably is the better Doomsday trailer too but I can agree that the 'hell answers to me' line read feel off and there's less X-Men here but the new cast for the new film sounds promising.
  7. I think it could work, and if you do do a Jango be sure to share it here on EB!
  8. For the missing types, I believe there was a leak saying that next year we'd get smart play set with Riolu, Croagunk, Lavitar, The Scorbunny line and More Eevelutions. That covers fighting at least (but not Steel though Riolu is close because they get it when they evolve into Lucario).
  9. I've made a quick mock-up of what option 2 could look like to me, with the various Alt brands within sub forums of one alt brand forum (Obviously there'd be more than those 3, it's just to demonstrate how it could look) rather than more than doubling the number of forums with option 3.
  10. I mean that was sort of the point, he mentioned 'the worst piece of Star Wars media' and for me The rise of Skywalker takes that cake and I've seen every Canon Show and Movie, Read dozens of Canon books, several legends books, a fair few comics, The OG clone wars and even most of the toddler show and TroS is my least favourite of all. So we agree there! I mean I've been basing sets on books in the wishlist thread, I think an Acolyte set or two is more likely than those... And hey I've supported your ideas set (ignore that almost every ideas set I like doesn't make it, even if gets 10k is killed at the picking zone) I don't know if they've done it and I don't have the file but there is a section in the forums for digital Lego and they do have a thread for official sets built in LDD (it's probably slowed down with more sets relying more and more on post LDD parts, though fan updates do exist for LDD) and there might be a similar one for stud.io in that section too? I mean I did mention all of those things as things that TLG had unfairly snubbed, partly thanks to the traditional set range being diluted by display sets and experiments. Acolyte was hardly even my main point it just got singled out because of it's unpopularity. (And while I still do like the shoe they did mess up big time on how they portrayed Vern in my opinion) While I disagree with putting it above Acolyte, you have successfully highlighted the uh highlights of the film. Palps being there doesn't make sense but Ian is so fun as Palps that it's (almost) forgivable! And Babu is Babu Nuff said
  11. My whole point is that it shouldn't be an either or if they did less random experimental lines they'd have more resources to cover everything. (Also The Acolyte is 1000 times better than TRoS but this isn't the media thread so I'll look over that point) Yes, thank you I concur, though I still think the lack of shadow lord coverage sets a disappointing precedent.
  12. These plus a CMF for a few Missing characters and some TLoK characters would be a dream come true. Azula, Korra, Kyoshi, Amon and the Cabbage Merchant and all Musts! Suki, Ty-lee, Mai, Jet, Tenzin, Avatar State Aang, Roku and Zaheer could round out a CMF too but alternative outfits for the main cast are another option like thier fire nation clothes. And Considering the eclipse tomorrow, maybe a day of black sun invasion set too.
  13. Seen some more 2027 rumours 3 presumably legends set of an Oni Mech, A dojo and an earth mech. The Dojo sounds like the one that had grainy images leak?
  14. I feel like this is a bit of an overreaction. I mean people will definitely want this, kids especially which makes it a shame that it's in a set far from the pocket money section. Talking about money it saves me some for other sets too! I could be cruel and say that it's good because you won't be missing out if you don't shell out for UCS but really even if it's the worst movie it's still a bit of a bum move to lock a part of a collection like this in what might be a £1000 set. It's no skin off my back because I'm not intending on collecting the posters (though I'll probably end up with a few from the sets I want) but it's still scummy. I didn't mean that Andor and Book of Boba Fett had no sets I know they got some sets but that they also have major things missed. As for the Acolyte, regardless of what others think I do wish they'd covered it.
  15. I can't tell which thread is which anymore they're both discussing it and with at least 50% of the same people! Oh, well hopefully you still understand what I mean about the increased number of diverging set lines forcing the more traditional sets to focus on only the lowest common denominator. Another OT falcon is inevitable, unlike sets for things like Shadow Lord, Book of Boba Fett, Andor and the Acolyte where they should've struck when the iron was hot so to speak. Technically my OT falcon is a modded TroS one but it's close enough and I got it on a good discount and already had the OT Crew to go with it. I thought it was super obvious I used it ironically to drive home the point of how overused and meaningless it has become Maybe I should‘ve layed it on even thicker then Use it like the spacebar to show how it means absolutely nothing now. Probably too erotic for TLG.
  16. That almost is the problem for me. I don't care that were unlikely to see a normal new OT falcon in the next few years because I already have one and I can't help but assume a lot of us do... The problem to me that because TLG is using the rest of the slots on experiments and displays scale stuff that for actual regular sets they on focus on a very shallow puddle of the most iconic OT things and an even shallower pool of CW/Episode 3 things. If they won't even make Shadow lord or TBB S2/3 things where's the chance of Tales, Ninth Jedi or Visions getting covered. Live action projects like Solo, Andor and Ahsoka are missing major pieces and don't get me started on the Book of Boba Fett! It's the lowest common denominator type stuff we get, even some stuff from OT gets shafted, it's been 12 years since the last B-wing and withe Clone wars stuff they don't want to dive a little deeper to do new and interesting stuff and characters like the Nightsisters with thier sanctum or the Syndicates or the pirates with Thier tanks and saucers. If they can't even bother to do a set or two for current projects like Shadow lord or the Ninth Jedi then wheres the hope for other series like Rebels or games like JFO, Outlaws or KoToR? Also you can't call it slop, you've got to be the change you wanna see Call it trite or detritus or filth or rubbish or...
  17. Here I was hoping it'd be a set to go before the modular and bleed some figures like the X-Jet or the Gargantos set who both had all but one of thier figs reused in thier following big Modulars.
  18. I mean Luke's exclusion in the falcon set makes sense. It don't make sense to exclude him from the overall crossover (so maybe there's another set) but Luke is less associated with the Falcon than Han, Chewie, Leia and Threepio because he's only really on the Falcon in ANH where's as the those guys are with us ESB and Even A little in the Sequels (at least I think Leia gets on it in the sequels, I haven't watched them as much because I don't like them as much). Though admittedly by that Logic R2 should be with Luke but maybe there actually is another set (shame to make the only crossover set an expensive one) and it's Luke V Vader. Maybe Wolverine Luke Vs Magneto Vader? Or if they want to keep the parentage thing Star Luke VS EGO Vader? Spider Luke is probably more likely as they seems to want the biggest star wars heroes as the biggest star wars heroes and EGO isn't that big anyway maybe goblin Vader? Or Thor Luke V Loki Vader that was keeps the relation a bit, and the redemption and you could even include Odin-wan Kenobi though them making that before actual Odin would be funny. Also why are people calling the princess Leia as Cap a Captain Carter Variant. Surely it's not Leia as Peggy as Cap it's just Leia as Cap. I do think Leia makes the most sense to be Cap too as she the original rebel of the OT Gang and the rebel symbol would look great replacing the Star on Cap's uniform. But look at it from the star wars side Leia is one of main heros of the OT cast and is very very popular. Gender swapping her would be weirder than swapping cap and matching the personality and vibe of the characters is more important I think. Anyway I get the idea that's it's like putting star wars characters in marvel suits with marvel powers because they have the iconic supersuits. Exactly. OT cast * Avengers probably wouldn't include Mando or a Random Z lister spider-sister. No kid is 'gonna go wow oh wow princess Leia is now Teresa Parker' if you think Leia has to mash over with a female spy character then black widow is right there! Though I still think Cap's a better fit. At least somebody watched it... 'of course I know him he's me' So when I saw i don't think there was anything inappropriate I speak from experience though Lego can inconsistent about these things and there something in it they wouldn't love. As for for the show itself it's alright, fun but nothing crazy mind blowing or anything. Yeah, I agree. That's what I was thinking of, like a BNW spoiler set of peters attic apartment maybe with the corner shop below it selling shark fire and flowers with the van as a sidebuild. Include some spoilers characters, reuse Scorpion and Spidey add in some ninjas and boom.
  19. I mean Hobbie was a bit of a break out star of 'Across the Spider-verse' it is a bit of a curve ball choice but one I can respect, he was very cool in that film. The scene were miles is trapped and everyone one else is just arguing over him and Punk looks at him and shows him the palm trick again *mwah* absolute cinema! Talking about breakout stars I hope Beyond gets us another Noir produced, yes he had the separate Live Action project but unlike Deadpool or punisher I don't think it's got anything too inappropriate in to stop another Lego Noir from being produced Though honestly after how prominent he was in Brand New Day I wouldn't be surprised if we get a Frank's Van side build(complete with Frank himself) in future modular or mini modular , though I still don't imagine he'd headline a set himself with his reputation. The Bugle figures is good enough for me though.
  20. I think Tan or light nougat take the cake for most ridiculous but how about another option for most evil. They bring back sand red use it only for the space suit (airtanks, helmet torso and legs)and never ever use it again. It's all in the eyebrows I guess! versus

  22. I like this! She comes together very well.
  23. Hi, I wanted to take a closer look at one of the Lego Pokémon sets, I’ve not called this a review because it mostly isn't. Part 1 - The build. The first thing you build is (unsurprisingly Eevee) who takes up just 1 bag. At this point in the build I wasn’t sure how good Eevee was gonna look when finished but lego (and specifically designer Joel Baker) really pulled it out of the, like tey do most of the time! I was tempted to leave out the smart tags when building as I have no real interest in smart play and the tile designs could make for nice decorative parts for other builds, in the end i left them in because they’re readily accessible and not deeply buried in the build, so if/when i change my mind i can easily rip them out and sub in a more common part to keep the thing stable. One slightly silly and pointless thing I thought to try at this stage was building Eevee an alternative hairstyle as you get plenty of small spare parts in the right colour, I think it looks rather dapper on him but I didn’t keep it. I only really thought of it because it is a feature in the game Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee, but hey it’s an option. There is one more thing you build in bag 1, the treasure map, which uses the first of the set’s 4 included stickers helpfully labelled as sticker 3. The stickers have some nice designs on but with pokeball symbols and Magikarp as well as sideways hearts which I have to assume (legally have to, I signed a contract) are meant to resemble Luvdisc. To my knowledge ( which is relatively extensive where Pokémon is concerned) these graphics aren’t really based on anything from the games or the shows or anything else, the magikarp carving is nice though. What is the opposite of a shame is that no stickers are used on either of the pokémon themselves. You get another smart tag in the next build, which is for treasure, and a missed opportunity for a gimmighoul reference. When you finish this build you get a little shipwreck build and a raft for Eevee. The idea is for there to be something for the pokémon to interact with, you can knock over the mast to lift a rock to reveal the treasure. It’s the set's only real play feature and not a very interesting one, but play features like this are clearly aimed at younger builders because this is ultimately a kids toy. And here is that next build finished. It does not do anything for me, but it does have some nice useful parts including a few that are new to me. You might notice I did the stickers wrong, I rotated the flag’s sticker 90° relative to the intention as I think a vertical banner is a much more ubiquitous use for the part. The lovely magikarp carving sticker I left off entirely not because I dislike like it (I rarely call things I dislike lovely) but because that stickered panel would be less that the sum of it’s parts, so I saved the sticker to apply elsewhere and left the panel untarnished to use a different elsewhere. This whole build I will scrap for parts very quickly because it isn’t why I bought this set, and I doubt that that’s a unique experience! There are 1028 pokémon and 1026 of those loveable critters weren’t included in this set and they definitely could’ve used the parts for this for another pocket monster instead, there’s even a smart tile in this so definitely doable even within the smart play system! There's plenty of mons small enough with bodies and simple enough design to work in the smart play pokémon stylisation. Now I know I say the shipwreck is something to add an interaction and play features for the kids but I can assure you that almost any fan of pokémon (be they adult, child or sentient glob of mercury with a hex nut for a head) would have preferred a third monster and another pokémon would’ve provided way more than the one interaction the shipwreck has. But this is a tangent, we know the set has only mons going in, so we don’t need to focus on could have beens or what ifs. Oh and there’s also a berry in the shipwreck section, but I had a look at the berry section on Bulbapedia and none really match it. After the superfluous shipwreck we get into the real meat and potatoes (mmm potatoes) of this set with Lapras the transport pokémon. I did take some in progress pictures of the build but honestly I don’t know if anybody wants to see them and I don't have much to say about them so I’ll skip to the good part and call out some interesting parts in Lapras. Primarily I want to take a look at those eyes, I think they could be reused for another pokémon, namely Nidoqueen Here she is for the uninformed, Nidoqueen has very similar eyes to lapras as well as a similar head shape and colour! It’s perfect! I’m almost tempted to try my hand at it, but I have far too many projects on the go as it is!( Watch this space for Asda) Maybe this was intentional from TLG and they have a smart play Nidoran♀ evolution line set planned but personally I kinda doubt it as she is not the most popular mon. I know this photo of the Lapras smart tag is out of focus and I’m sorry, my camera didn’t want to focus on it for whatever reason, but anyway the reason I want to talk about this tag is because Lapras is a dual typed pokémon, she is an ice type as well as a water type and both these types are printed on the tag next to her pokedex number, but the ice type symbol really doesn't show up very well, honestly it’s more obvious in my terrible blurry photo than it is in real life. Not anywhere even approaching a big deal but since I’m looking at this set I thought I should highlight it none the less. A couple more parts in Lapras caught my eye, more for their colour than anything else. Buried in the build there are 2 1*2 tomato soup coloured plates, the tomato soup colour is pretty new to me and I have very few parts in that colour so they caught my eye but what caught it even more so was a round 2*2 jumper tile in one of this year's new colours, namely what they are calling blue violet. See these 1*1 triangular prism parts used in Lapras’ head? Are TLG calling Lapras the opposite of a bog brain? How cruel! I might as well mention here that her nostrils are also printed, you can set that in the set images anyways but I'd be remiss to ignore it when talking about interesting parts contained within the build of the transport pokémon here! Part 2 - the completed models Ultimately this pictured here is what you end up with. Both Lapras and Eevee look very good and the other bit also exists, I have pretty much nothing more to say about it. Now Lapras does have a strange point in her neck where it goes in a bit too drastically where it meets the body, this is something I immediately clicked as looking rather odd when the HD official set images dropped, in hand however it really doesn't bother me and is hardly noticeable. Whilst I'm on the topic (A Hazelnut in Every Bite) of hardly noticeable there is the teensist tiniest sliver of blue that pokes through Eevee’s ruff, I haven't circled it in the picture because (I’m lazy?) i wanted to show that it’s not obvious so you have to find it if you want to see it. It is so negligible that it doesn’t bother little old me in the slightest, but if it did subbing out the offending plus part with tan would be an easy fix. I’ll take one last chance to dog on the side builds because why does Eevee need a tiny raft when Lapras is literally the TRANSPORT pokémon? So with that in mind I took the above picture of Lapras carrying Eevee, I did have to remove one of the bumps to get Eevee to sit, but that doesn’t compromise Lapras’ looks at all so all is fine and dandy! This is also the only picture with the tablecloth in if I recall correctly, so enjoy that while you can! You might be wondering (since Lapras is a surfing pokémon that swims above the waves) does she float? The answer as the picture has already spoiled is yes! So long as you place her on a transparent support and then pretend said support doesn’t exist then yes Lapras floats… Oh you meant like on water? I didn’t want to do that just for a gag, sorry. On the subject of gags, I think that is probably the only reason you might want to put Lapras in this pose. But here Posing is concerned there isn’t much you can do with these two. Eevee ears move which could be good for displaying emotion, only there’s only one expression available on the faceplate so that doesn't really work. Lapras does have 5 ball joints, one for ecah flipper, plus the tail. Theres only so much you do with those options that makes any sense, these clearly weren’t made with poseabilty in mind but that’s oka. I do think they’d have probably had a rotating head or at least some more articulation that this if the smart bricks weren’t a design concern. Looks like Eevee can float too with the help of a psychic type (Why is a non-lego Mewtwo here? All will be revealed in time!). Now a few of the finer details have been lost here due to the size, scale and level of stylisation, such as Lapras’ ear swirls, that is to be expected and is as I have a said absolutely fine, but there is a is detail about Eevee’s tail I would like to go a fun little tangent about! Now you may have noticed I’ve been calling the Eevee a ‘he’ and the Lapras a ‘she’. Well both of these pokémon can be either sex ( unlike Nidoqueen who I briefly mentioned earlier who is always female) but Eevee specifically does have some gender dimorphism. See the very tip of their tails are a different colour? Well the are where the colours transition is different on male Eevee compared to female. Males have a more jagged transition with more sections, whereas the females have fewer sections with more cured edges. It’s a very subtle difference and not really noticeable at the scale and level of detail that this Eevee is built at. I personally think this set’s Eevee looks more like the male tail, but it could definitely work for either. In fact it’s kinda somewhere between the two, it could a hermaphroditic (Or Intersex to use the human term) individual, like my sister though her rabbit was (he was just a boy, the vets just didn’t notice that at first because, like Lapras, rabbit kittens look about the same for boys and girls). Part 3- Scale and Silliness Both Pokémon and Lego are known for inconsistent scaling so this section is really just for fun. There are a few intersing comparisons I would like to make and for that I need to bring in some non lego figures and Figureines. The first picture I want to show has absolutely no Lego in it whatsoever. It’s to demonstrate the scaling issues of pokémon. Here are 2 Pokémon Scale World figurines of Red and Brock and alongside them are 4 differently sized figures of the pokémon Fuecoco. Asking which Fuecoco is correctly scaled to the 2 trainers is a difficult question because pokémon sizing is very very inconsistent, even EB users who I know to be Pokémon fans like @BrickBob Studpants, @LegoDakin or @Meaf might struggle with pokémon scaling! I know I do and I've been a Pokémon fan for over 20 years which is a majority of my life and almost as long as I’ve been a lego fanatic! You see the issue is that they have their sizes as seen in the mainline games, in the animes, in other shows, in pokémon Go and other spinoff games, in the pokedex and in plenty of other depictions like the TCG art and various mangas and these sizes do not always align! Especially for earlier projects! Here’s another naughty legoless photo, it shows all the pokémon that Lego has made as for this smart play line in scale using the scale world collection figures (well the ones that I have anyway so a few are missing and I swapped out the Eevelutions for ones I have as all the Eevelutions are about the same size). Now compare this with an image of all the smart play line pokémon (I will have to steal someone else’s photo for this as this the only Lego Pokémon Smart play set I have) (from bricks by mind, I had though I might find a better picture of just the pokemon lined up and with Bulba closer to Eevee but oh well) There are some interesting and obvious discrepancies, no? Eevee is a lot smaller in comparison to the others and Bulbasaur is quite a bit bigger. I would’ve liked to do a direct comparison with the smartplay bulba but his set was sold out on Argos where an excellent Nectar offer made me bite the bullet on these smart play sets). You can see where some interesting compromises had to be made, like with mew who had to bigger than squirtle in the smart play sets because that’s a more complicated body to capture the likeness of. Now let's bring Lego back into the mix fully. So here’s that same lot of scale world pokémon, the ones that I have with smart play equivalents plus the 2 subbed in Eevee evolutions, but this time I’ve mixed some minifigures and scale world trainers into the mix. You can see how some of the scale world pokémon, whose game sizes don’t align with their actual sizes in the pokedex that the scale world collection uses, look pretty well scaled next to minfigs rather than the figurines that actually scale with them. Next I’ll bring the actual set this topic is about back into the fray. Here’s three Eevees, with the third new one being a Minifigs.me custom print ( I used to be too much of a purist for that but times have changed!).I do think the official lego Eevee made a better choice when is comes to colour and also by not being diglet shaped. The smart play Pokémon are clearly too big to be minifg scaled, but pokémon does have a couple size changing mechanics that most major of which being a british folklore inspired one called dynamax. When a pokémon dynamaxes, red clouds swirl above their head, so I quickly slapped together a tablescrap of the 3 red clouds to pop on poor Eevee’s head. I don’t think it quite works size wise here, Eevee is big compared to the fig but not big enough. Now I think we’ve already established that Eevee and Lapras aren't quite perfectly scaled for each other (which isn’t actually a problem as the two still look good together and scale id a difficult beast for both lego and Pokémon so a combination of the both is defiantly gonna have scale issues) so I tried the dynamax look on lapras and I think it works so much better here than on our pal Eevee. Now we know the smart play Pokémon don’t scale with either the scale world collection or the lego minifigs, so who will hey scale with? How big would a smart play human be? Well here’s some action figures, technically they are at different scales and the Cyberman should be taller than General Skywalker but they are near enough for my purposes. Honestly Eevee looks a little too big here but let’s try Lapras Lapras is the transport pokémon that trainers use to surf across seas and oceans so here is Anakin riding the Lapras, I think he looks pretty good. He is perhaps a little big on it I suppose but then again most of the trainers we see riding them in the Pokémon series aren't fully grown but master Skywalker is. Tangent, this new shrub piece from the Snoopy set reminded me somewhat of the tall grass from the Celebii scale world figure pack.. Also judge is still out on the berry, i wanna say either Persim, Razz, or Spleon ? none of those feel quite right though. Shrub does work as tall grass, the scale world Eevee is also about the sized of the upcoming lego minifig 'scale' eevee part 4 - Closing thoughts Q&A Is this a cool set? Yes, I love the Eevee and the Lapras. Getting pokémon lego still feels surreal 9 now we just need Avatar, Fantasy Era, DC and Doctor Who BACK!) Is this set worth the price? Not to me, hence that I only bought it with £25 back in nectar points. Would've pick up other on the offer too but quite a few of them were already snapped up! Do I have more photos I didn't share? yes see imgur (I used to use Flickr which is better without vpns too but had trouble embedding them here recently) Did this make sense? Hopefully, that's for you,the reader, to judge. What colour is Lapras’s underbelly? The correct one, matching the neck tone, except for a tiny bit near the smart brick attachment point. Do you think the pokémon smart play sets will sell well? I do, but almost despite the ‘smart’ aspect rather than because of it. I almost wouldn’t be surprised if these smart play stylised pokémon outlined the actual smart play aspects. Do these sets prove the star wars smart play sets didn't have to be so ugly? They really kinda did. Here’s one last photo with all the different scales I’ve discussed in it. Thanks for reading!
  24. He was pictured alongside USA Gent(leman) and several Dooms in the slide from the leaker.
  25. What's the most evil unused colour? I guess dark red because of it's love of breaking?
