Exactly. Especially with the cases where the influencers try to essentially outsource the purchases-to-increase-price to their followers, you're then dealing with young people who likely have little to no seller experience and will get frustrated when their relisted $300 fig doesn't sell within a week. And if you're a big store with the capital to do it yourself, why would you bother buying up all of, say, revan, who only has like 6 used figs sold a month, when you could just buy a bunch of bulk lots, part out the figs from official sets, etc? There are more efficient ways to use your capital, and if somebody gets big enough that they actually HAVE the capital to buy all the revans, they normally know that. 4 hours ago, BrickPrick said: I already did this morning. Yes, while I can't imagine this to be anything else than a beefed up version of the previous 2020 promotional set, I'm curious how vibrant the color palette is gonna look like... as well as this Bespin based Christmas Luke. It's from the graphic novel Watchmen, which is kind of an early attempt at doing a counterintuitive superhero story. The main villain monologues only to reveal he already completed the plan he was monologuing about, and essentially wins in the end. It's not my favorite comic, but certainly an interesting read- and always funny to think about the fact that the cast are all technically DC characters despite the tone of the story. Thank you, that's very kind. There are a lot of things I want to see in terms of what they do- I could see the main antenna pole Luke clings to becoming a christmas tree, for one. And yes, Luke's figure will also be interesting- will it just be a red recolor of his suit, or will they do something more unique? So many awesome sets we could have gotten out of Ahsoka S2, and yet not a single one on the horizon. If any do come it seems like they'll be a minimum of 6 months after the end of the show. This is movie-scale stuff- I don't think we've seen anything in live-action TV on this level before for star wars. Even the 'retaking of mandalore' was like, one cruiser. These battles look to be full on galactic civil war scale. It is interesting that they're using the Mole Miners here- I would have expected Filoni to keep that for his HTTE movie, but maybe that's dead in the water. I hope not- and I hope Thrawn isn't defeated this season, that would be disappointing. In any case, the way they adapted them is smart- Thrawn has access to the Nightsisters, who fulfill a similar role to the spacetroopers in the novel as shock troops that can easily clear out fleet crew. But I do wish they'd held those in reserve for a film or at the very least not shown them off in the trailer- their usage in the novel is a genius twist and the first real masterstroke we see out of Thrawn, so the trailer basically going "look, he's got boarding pods" implies it won't be a twist in the show. That trailer was insane, I am hyped. (The Loth kittens concept art was cuter at celebration then the actual models shown a D23 but I digress) The lack of Lego coverage is awful especially considering the Ahsoka season 1 wave was great (the only time I've bought a whole wave (minus the Chewbacca) at release but I probably won't do that again I'd got a bonus but even if I want a whole wave discounts are inevitable and so should be waited for!) probably too optimistic to hope for spoiler sets in the summer but I can't help it. Also did the guy in the snowy force vision look like Galen Marek to anyone else? I do hope this movie is leading into the previously announced 'Mando-verse' culmination movie but with Lucasfilms current track record that movie might not still be happening. 3 hours ago, ArrowBricks said: We still need Shadow Lord, that’s a huge miss their end as people loved that show and there was plenty of new and exciting things to chose from. Kaijumeister Posted yesterday at 11:09 AM Posted yesterday at 11:09 AM I love how the theme has reached the point where you get these incredibly visually striking shows and Lego will just flat-out ignore them. Again, you do not see other toy companies ever doing this. I wish we could have had three sets for the show in a similar format to 2023’s debut wave; a dogfight set (in this case a NR vs Imperial set also including NR / Imperial Pilot, Ezra, Enoch, and a Nighsister too), a large ship (T-6 at the Ghost’s price point maybe) and a smaller set (something based on Peridea). Maybe it’s not too late and we might get something next June or August, the leakers haven’t explicitly confirmed the show is being ignored so perhaps there is hope. But after Maul Shadow Lord I find it so frustrating we get another show with lightsaber wielders, cool ships, and interesting locations (all things that are perfect for Lego representation), and Lego think it’s untenable to dedicate at least a single set to it. The Starfighter teaser is also floating about online, it’s only a minute long but I’m excited! Glad we’re getting some sets for it. Quote

A skip would upset me more than all the above-mentioned movies and shows together Yeah I guess it’s a trade-off. They fail to strike whilst the iron is hot with a summer release for tie-in sets, but it also means they can include more stuff in them. In retrospect, most tie-in sets for Star Wars shows have lagged behind the shows anyway. Most of the Mandalorian S2 sets released ~10 months after the actual season premiered, the Bad Batch Shuttle released 3 months after the premiere, Obi-Wan Kenobi similarly 3 months too, and Ahsoka around 1 month. So it’s not exactly unprecedented for there to be a delay anyway. I’m in the same boat. Initially I didn’t care too much because a lot of the playscale and some of the display stuff sounds pretty great to me for next year, but after seeing how much *new* stuff there is in the Ahsoka trailer, the lack of any Lego would utterly bum me out. If August 2027 consisted of Bounty Hunter Pursuit, Ewok Village, 2 Ahsoka sets, and the Captain Rex statue, that would be quite reasonable IMO. But hey, maybe we’ll get Ahsoka stuff in June. The thrawn campaign looks amazing, but both can be good. I think they deliberately obfuscate Baylan in this trailer, but from what we do see, at the very least they've got the look down. I’m in the same boat, it just gets the fantastical and mystical side of Star Wars to a degree that no piece of content has in such a long time. I know people regularly cite the fifth episode of the show as a highlight because of the Anakin parts and whilst I agree they’re great, the scene that best encapsulates the show for me is the end of that episode when Ahsoka communes with the Purrgil and they begin the jump to hyperspace. It’s one of the best moments in Star Wars, period, for me, especially with Kevin Kiner’s score (The Hyperspace Jump). But yeah, let’s hope for some coverage of Season 2 this summer. As always it will be amusing seeing how every other company will be pushing merch for the show come December / January whilst Lego will remain silent. Again, it really shouldn’t be this impossible to dedicate two set slots to the show. Edited yesterday at 07:14 PM by Kaijumeister Quote
