I think there's a good chance we get a battle pack and/or another set. Though I wouldn't hold my breath for us to suddenly get our Shadow Lord, Ahsoka S2, etc stuff. (Ironically however January 2027 IS the window in which we'd get a TIE Avenger set if lego decided to make one after Andor released.) 42 minutes ago, BrickBob Studpants said: Yeah, releasing the obvious anniversary sets (i.e., the poster set and „icons of SW“) around May would make more sense, but you never know Star Wars Original Star Wars releases in late February, so if they're meant as tie-ins, January is possible. I don't know if we'd get tie ins for a rerelease, as momentous as having the actual 1977 version back is, but they are seemingly some very unique sets anyway so you never know. Quote

It's been a couple of years since I've bought any SW set larger than a Microfighter, but I've been excited for this one since the news first leaked. I still remember missing out on an (at the time, very affordable) eBay auction for the original, like, fifteen years ago, and I've wanted it ever since! Just hoping it lives up to everyone's expectations... Quote

Well, I mean even more rare than they already are in general I’m not sure how to explain it really, but Bounty Hunter Pursuit just doesn’t give me a January wave vibe. It feels like the sort of fun additional thing they’d throw in a Summer wave. (Coruscant Gunship, BD-1, etc…). Not the accessible/ versatile vehicle that they usually do (except for this year for some reason. Why wasn’t there a January starfighter?) Quote

In terms of vehicles, all you have are the twin-pod cloud car- which at least in the movie is a noncombat vehicle, making the likelihood of sets low- and Slave One. The latter used to be our safe bet for bespin-based sets, but between the last boba one being mando based, the smaller size they now sit at drastically reducing the figure count, and the Jango one we just got, even that is no longer a guarantee for some good Cloud City content. Hope you don't mind my late replies. As you can tell, I'm currently not too involved in the Lego Star Wars world, yet I don't forget about these conversations and return to them once I feel a little more motivated. You obviously have a point here. Lego Star Wars is not a very location-driven theme as a whole, but Bespin is. Giving Lego less incentive to create sets compared to other scenes of the Saga. But that mustn't prevent them to do stuff that is more compatible with their coverage on a more regular basis. Like you can definitely do a Carbonite Freezing Chamber every once in a while. Hope the next one finally gives us Cloud City Lando in a moderately priced accessible set. Grand Admiral Thrawn minifigure finally acquired. A fine addition to my collection and symptomatic for this year when I make myself comfortable with occasional single minifigures drops. Just skimmed through the last two pages. What's that "minifigures and bricks" jazz all about; can somebody give me a brief summary of what happened? Edited June 6 by BrickPrick Quote

It doesn't feel like a january set. (As for why there was no January starfighter this year, consider the following: Mando's N-1 still hasn't retired, and that's the only light side starfighter that exists in the eyes of 2026 lego, besides maybe the Fang Fighter, which just retired*. Maybe we could have gotten a clone V-wing in place of the Cobb Vanth set, but that's the only choice I see fitting into this year's set selection.) *Totally off topic but I've been doing some research for another project and I guess the Mando show Fang fighters canonically don't have rotating wings. That wasn't a mistake by lego, they just... don't do that for some reason. 5 hours ago, BrickPrick said: Hope you don't mind my late replies. What's that "minifigures and bricks" jazz all about; can somebody give me a brief summary of what happened? No problem, man, I get it. I think a Carbon Freezing Chamber at that $55 location price point could work out pretty well so long as it had some figure draws. If it was, say, Boba, CC Lando, Ugnaught, Han, Bespin Jumpsuit Leia, and Vader, I think it'd do well. CC Lando's the only one that I think could sell a set on his own at this point but jumpsuit leia would technically be a new variant and with the mech retired this would be the cheapest way to get an OT boba. Awesome, I assume the Ahsoka version? It's a great figure, much closer to his HTTE depiction than the weirdly azure Rebels one. It's a long story, but boils down to a chain of lego resellers having stolen about $200,000 in lego. The chain of stores is not affiliated with lego as a company, so it's not really relevant to the topic, but definitely interesting to look up. Another case where a young guy on Youtube ends up investigating something crazy that mainline investigative news outlets either missed or ignored. Quote

Yes, it would be a good get. While I already own the 2016 Freezing Chamber, I would definitely double dip this one for Lando alone, just like I did for 2024's Dessert Skiff. And like you said, it would be one of the very few fitting opportunities to finally include this unique Leia variant. 54 minutes ago, Mandalorianknight said: Awesome, I assume the Ahsoka version? A family member, pretty casually minded, got gifted this set primarily for receiving Ahsoka and had no desire for the remaining figures. So I got Thrawn (in exchange for another duplicate basically for free), which was my clear main draw of the set. Finished my wave of Marvel mocs, so no longer a reason to have my mando in the marvel character's suit. This one is what my "real" mandalorian helmet looks like. Exactly. Cloud City Lando easily has the market to sell a set like that, and Leia would be a good bonus. We could even throw in a new Chewbacca with C-3PO on his back. Nice. The Galactic Marines are showing up in the magazine, right? So you guys in Europe should be able to get your hands on them pretty cheap. Quote

With the TIE Bomber retiring there will literally be no dumb villain starfighters come August. If we do get a TIE Avenger next year you should do the same list but just have it be "should have been a UCS/microfighter/midi-scale/etc TIE avenger" The joke was that the only normal sets we got this year were mando or a few clones, so the only options would have been hero starfighters from those factions. (Because lego villain starfighters are comparatively rare anyway). Obviously on a realistic level there's a million starfighters we could have gotten, it was just a jab at lego only recognizing one show and one faction. 5 hours ago, BrickPrick said: Oh yeah. If only Boss Nass encountered Din Djarren or the clones at some point, he would have had a set by now. Absolutely. I'm hoping enough BL sellers will try and import some that the price will lower a bit- right now aside from one entry at $15, the cheapest US ones you can get all hover around $20-22, and while that's not the worst thing in the world if it was a single character, it's not something I'd want to buy a squad of. At $6ish, I feel like even with the cost of importing them they should still be able to get the price down a good deal. 34 minutes ago, Darth_Bane13 said: I agree except I would've put all the Smart Brick sets in the bottom tier Honestly I think the "smart" falcon is a middle-tier set even with the smart integration. RyansRebuid Posted June 8 Posted June 8 The Smart Brick Falcon is a relatively neat set. (As is Mos Eisley, in my opinion.) I keep a loose eye on the Smart Brick Falcon to see if it ever gets a steep discount when Lego gives up on this stuff. (I hope.) I've never owned a Lego Millennium Falcon. Big plan for the weekend was to rebuild my 2007 Sith Infiltrator (#7663). But kind of got busy with seeing friends and some Pride celebrations (happy US [global?] Pride Month) that I didn't get to it until late Sunday. Then, I remembered that it's one of the dustiest sets I dug up. It must have sat exposed in the attic or just out on a shelf for a few years. The Lego activity of the weekend ended up being cleaning the pieces off with some Q-tips and soapy water. The pieces are sitting and drying now. Hopefully, I get to it next weekend and can bring it in to work to swap out my 75301 Luke's X-Wing. Found that 2007 Maul figure as well to complete the set. Neat figure with the chrome lightsaber hilt. Joints seem a bit stiff. I've been trying to move his arms and legs around to fix the stiffness, but maybe that's just what happens to old figs? I also much prefer the hooded Maul to the silly little crown piece they give his figure in some sets. (Like Duel on Naboo 75169.) Quote

Even with the holes you have to plug because of it, I still think it's a mid-tier set. Without the smart integration- using the budget of those dumb stickers and coiled figs to plug the holes, smooth out some of the rougher bits, and maybe add a fig- I think it would have been one of the best we've seen at it's price point. As for the figure count, it's unfortunate but seemingly the norm. $100ish ships are rare in this theme, but the $140-180 ones often only include 5 or 6 minifigs. The last of the last $100-120ish ship sets (The two-packs and the Scythe) mostly came with 4 minifigs, the only exception being the $110-at-the-time Ahsoka starfighter dual pack. 4 might be lower than we'd like to see but it's pretty much dead average with what we've been getting for half a decade. Really intrigued to know if we’re getting both Microfighters and Mando-speeder type sets from now on, or if the sub £10 set was a one off for this year or if Microfighters will get replaced after Luke’s X-Wing. Preferably we get both (or two sub £10 sets) from now on as kids are always going to need a cheap entry point. Quote

SW definitely needs more allowance-friendly sets like battlepacks, microfighters, and the returning $10 sets. Out of the three, the third is clearly the hardest to pull off since the other two have been established for 19 and 12 years respectively, and there is a lot more potential for them. There’s a bunch of factions to pull from for battlepacks and a sheer infinite number of ships they could turn into microfighters, but $10 sets are pretty limited in their options. Small speeders or tiny location sets is the best they could do Regardless, I hope they’ll keep all three around! Quote
