So, @Fieldtest requested a device to link two of the large V2 pneumatic actuators together, end to end. this is what I came up with, and it is so potentially helpful that I thought it would be worth sharing in its own topic. Pneumatic Cylinder Connection by Saberwing007, on Flickr It's pretty easy to make, but it was a real pain to figure out, because Lego, in their infinite wisdom, made some of the dimensions not a whole number of studs, which is really odd for them. Thus, this build needed some very illegal connections in order to work and be stiff. Hi. I'm a Lego Technic MOC builder but when I got into Lego years ago I have got a lot of sets and made some... interesting MOCs. I'm considering to change up my display setup to make it look better, and I thought asking for advice and suggestions would be a great idea. Here's the collection as of now: The left shelf has my MOCs and the right shelf has sets and space MOCs. (The posters above are going to be removed) Left Shelf On the top of the left shelf are cars I made over 3 years ago. They're not pretty, and I probably won't be taking them apart for new builds since I'm giving my full time to Technic. On the middle of the shelf is some custom Bionicle figures I made as part of a weird story I made on the now defunct Lego.com gallery. On the bottom of the shelf is a... quirky house with a living room, kitchen, closet, bathroom, and bedroom that I made probably four years ago, broke, and rebuilt. It serves no use and its use as a display piece is kind of worthless, but it's one of the biggest things I built at the time. The playground on the middle shelf used to be connected to the right of the house. It hurts to remember having it on my dresser not playing with it because the house wasn't pretty. I should rebuild the house into something new but I'm keeping it as a memory and since all the pieces are a different color and I have no idea what to build. MineCraft Display A ton of MineCraft sets I got to connect to each other and make a cool display. Unfortunately I ignore it often and never got to my plans to put a MineCraft wallpaper up to make it look like a set box, but I'd like to. Right Shelf Just built sets and space MOCs I made forever ago. Top Shelf I expanded the shelf above by placing two poster frames and holding them up with a bar mounted in the wall, making it easy for removal and since I don't want to use a permanent structure. I like it but it's impossible to see items placed all the way back, so I don't know if I want to keep it or not. Here's the bar it was on... And here's the shelf I put the boards on top of. A lot of the items on the shelves are builds I don't have as much interest in as the large Creator cars I want to display here so I'm open for ideas. If this was your space to display your Lego collection, what would you do? How would you display creations you like and the ones that are not as interesting?

I was watching some of the E-races on youtube ad thought to myself, why not have competitions like that too. Just like the trial trucks, but with the focus on being speed and handling. Here are the basic rules I'd propose use either 2XL, 3L or 4M motors for drive, no RC motors allowed use any Lego battery box, the Li-Po is lighter, but has lower voltage, while the new AA battery boxes have no current limit use of Sbrick is allowed since it only controls the model the model can use a third function like a gearbox, or even a spring-powered boost mechanis, as long as it does not power the car directly use of pre-2005 bricks is not allowed to keep things modern and fair What do you guys think? Anyone wanna try it? Few more ideas: size limit - all cars should be approximately at the same size paneling - cars should be properly covered with panels, bare chassis is not allowed -
We did get Duplo circus sets, but I personally would love to see a sub-theme in a normal LEGO system set for either Friends or City with circus-themed sets including but not limited to: - Circus Cannon: a cannon and a "human-cannonball." - Circus Motor Stunts: ramps, two bikes, two drivers, and a generous employee - Circus Elephant Training: an elephant, a food pen, one animal tamer, one clown, and two employees - Circus Clown Car: a car with a clown face, some juggling pins, a unicycle, one child, and three clowns - Circus Train: a long locomotive in bright red, purple, and yellow, two cars for animals, one car for clowns, two tigers, an elephant, two clowns, a mime, an acrobat, an animal tamer, three employees, and a circus director - The Circus: a large circus tent, a tight rope, two rows of seats, a ticket booth, one tiger, two elephants, a tight-rope walker, three clowns, two acrobats, a circus director, a magician, two employees, an animal tamer, four children, and five parents - Circus Food Court (a retail exclusive): a hot dog booth, a pizza booth, a popcorn booth, a cotton candy booth, one clown, two employees, two children, and two parents I think it's possible for this to happen somewhere in the 2020s, or even 2019. Only time will tell. What do you think about these choices and what are yours? Warning: This is only a wishlist. -

Hello people, as i have seen some topics made by some members were they share their creations, modifications and ideas, i thought it was a good idea to start my own topic about that, this way i can avoid filling other topics with too many information by saving all that information here and just posting small texts in those other topics. To start, i would like to share some creations which i worked on: Model Team Nissan Frontier. This is one of my oldest models, i made it even before i knew about Eurobricks, and i would like to share it with you because you might like it or modified it: This model features front independent suspension, rear leaf spring suspension using 5.5 axles, HOG steering, working doors, bonnet and tailgate, 5 seats and a towing hitch; its very possible that some parts are with wrong colors or there could be outdated building techniques, but i think that is not too bad for one of my first LDD models (i am no sure, but if i have enough time and inspiration i could make it in real Technic parts), The LXF: http://bricksafe.com/files/imanol/nissan-frontier/Nissan Frontier.lxf. Model Team Paramount Group Marauder MRAP. Again, one of my oldest models, it is made at a pretty small scale but it could still be considered as "model team" (i think), it has pendular suspension in both axles which are damped by cross-axles which act as leaf springs, it has HOG steering, working winch and doors, a spare tire and 2 turrets that can be mounted on the roof: The LXF: http://bricksafe.com/files/imanol/paramount-marauder/Paramount Group Marauder.lxf Technic Unimog U500 Long Chassis (I have called it UNI-MOC) You might have seen it in the latest posts at 8110´s Mods topic ( http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/topic/57543-8110-unimog-mods-and-improvements/&page=78 ), it is a 64 studs long and 24 studs wide model which i started to make because the modifications in the 8110 got to a too high level and i wasn´t satisfied with the whole model, i created this new model to hold all of my wanted functions and details, this model has some designs from other builders: Madoca´s Tatra 2-speeds gearbox (slightly modified to fit in this new chassis), Efferman´s planetary rims, a modified version of Didumos knob gear driven axle and a 3-side dumping system and dropping sides inspired by Kumbbl´s modifications, it was also made by some help and inspiration by Pat-Ard: This Unimog has 4 M-Motors, 2 L-Motors, 2 XL-Motors, 3 IR RC Receivers, 2 AAA Battery Boxes and 3 PF Switches (brick-built with ugly colors), why so many motors? well, as you might know, the 8110 had only one M-Motor inside it, which was meant to drive the 3 main functions of the set (front PTO, rear PTO and the pneumatic pump) the problem was that the functions couldn't be used simultaneously, you couldn't power front and rear PTO´s at the same time or with the pneumatic pump and because this system uses a gearbox and axles to engage and transmit the power to the different parts, this results in a lot of friction and power losing (other of the reasons of why i started this MOC), other thing that bother me about the 8110 was the proportions of it, it was very tall with lifted wide axles, but very thin cab and bed which made it look silly, the chassis had no space for all the functions that i wanted, i couldn't place enough motors or functions on it, and the axles were another problem, the steering pivot and angle was a disappointing, the tires couldn't steer too much with the half pins, and if you removed them, the mudguards and the surrounding elements needed to be placed far away from the tires to avoid them from colliding, these are few of the reasons of why i started to make my own version of this UGN class of Unimog (which are U300, U400 and U500). Some of the good features of this model are: Improved steering pivot (2 studs closer to the wheels compared to standard portal hubs) Wheels and portal hubs can handle more torque without jamming parts The axles are more compact (less tall), so the chassis can move even lower for a more realistic performance Front steering by L-Motor Rear steering (By M-Motor) with the same axle design as the front one Anti-roll bars in both axles, which help a lot to handle with weight and give a lot of stability, and they can be easily removed for serious offroading Remotely shifted 2-speeds gearbox by M-Motor Directly driven pneumatic pump (L-Motor) and PTO´s (M-Motors) for less power losing 3-side tipping 37 studs long 23 studs wide dump bed with dropping sides using a V2 large pneumatic cylinder Drive by 2 XL-Motors So, these are some of my models, i hope you like them, and i hope to upload more of them, i will try to do my best with all them, let me know what you think about this topic and the models, and any suggestion is well received Thanks. -
After watching some youtube videos I noticed some trucks had some weird suspension on them... It looked something like this: So naturally I started investigating and found that this is a type of setup called a twin beam suspension. So I tried to replicate one in Lego. To explain the concept behind this hybrid, here's a series of stages leading from live axle suspension to the double beam setup: In order: Yellow setup is a live axle Red setup represent the change from dependent suspesnion to independent suspension By extending the half axle lengths (blue) we get a lower change in wheel angle relative to the drive surface (camber) And finally by extending the swing arms PASS the center point we get a double beam suspension And here's a version with drive and steering: So what are the advantages compared to the live axle? - Its independent, which as name suggest aloows the wheel to work independent from each other - Lower unsprung weight - Less moving parts - to keep a live axle in place you need several linkages. Here the axle pivots around one central point And disadvantages? - Complex design, the axles have to be made to travel pass each other without interfering. - A need for a CV joint which needs to allow the axle to slide in and out - Not as robust - Hard to implement portal gears without making the wheels slide sideways excessively - Camber changes are still present I also made a video explanation of the principe. You can skip to 4:30 to see the final version in action: So the final question. Is it useful? Fo me as far as the Lego version goes....no. The disadvantages outweigh any possible advantages. Also lately I have been working a lot on long travel double wishbone suspension which outperform any other previous suspension system in almost all categories. The only usefulness in this design I see is realism, if you are building a replica of a truck that has such suspnesion. I wanted to share a project that I'm doing which I think will be interesting to the members of this community. I've recently purchased the Lego Architecture Studio set, and I created a personal challenge to build 30 models with the bricks from this set in 30 days. Each day, I create a new building challenge to try and build, and I've already completed 9 models so I'm almost 1/3 of the way done! I hope that others will take the challenge, either by doing the same 30 challenges I've done, or expanding the idea with new challenges to try. Ok, here is a gearbox I made. It was made to be realistic, so it only has two shafts, one for input, the other for output. I had to make two types of gears myself, a 20 tooth clutch gear and a 24 tooth clutch gear. The 24 tooth clutch gear was cut off of an old type differential, and the 20 tooth clutch gear was made by hollowing out the center of a regular 20 tooth double bevel gear, cutting the teeth off of a regular 16 tooth clutch gear, and putting the 16 tooth inside the 20 tooth. The gearbox is a 6 speed + 2 reverse gearbox, so 8 gears total. These photos were also taken on my mobile. I'll take more pics of the front axle later, the model has already been disassembled, but I kept the front axle for future projects. The vertical 6L link is for suspension. This model has all-round floating solid axle suspension with transverse torsion bars. As you can see, this new front axle has caster angle. I couldn't get the shock absorbers to work correctly, and I wasn't satisfied with the suspension travel, so that's why I switched to torsion bars. It works very nicely. The caster angle is achieved by simply moving the upper links backwards. The front suspension is a triangulated 4 link type, and the rear suspension is a 3 link with a bionicle ball joint. This model has no fake engine, as the main focus of this model was steering and suspension. The center of the model is held together by the floor and "doors" entirely, forming part of the central body, almost like a unibody construction. Oh, and here is just a strange mechanism I made. I don't have much space to use and the servo motor needs to be lifted from the bottom and up totaling 90° radius. The servo needs to be lifted with pneumatics. I've built this model in SR3D Builder to show you guys. It's not really many pieces so anyone could build it IRL and try to make out something. It should be easily recreateable from the pictures. I'm pretty clueless and I don't know of that many different mechanical solutions with 4 different liftarms or so, so I'm asking for help in hopes that someone would help me -
So yeah, been thinking and working on some ideas for some cool Agents themed sets... Warning: contains spoliers. SPOILERS! SPOILEEERS. Possible ideas that popped up in my mind: "S.H.I.E.L.D. SUV Pursuit" A Shield Black SUV, a Hydra soldier, agent May or a shield agent as the minifigs. Kinda of a small, $15/$20 set. "Attack on the Fridge Tower." Inspired by the scene where Grant Ward, John Garrett and HYDRA raid the Shield prison known as "The Fridge", and are attacked by a SHIELD helicopter. A Black S.H.I.E.L.D. attack helicopter with flick-missiles or stud shooters, a section of a building meant to represent the Fridge. A Hydra agent, Grant Ward (not in SHIELD uniform), Garrett and a SHIELD pilot/agent would be included in the scene. Helicopter could be similar to the one from the Jurassic World set, but a bit bigger and with weapons. Average set, around $30/40. "Vanchat's Arrest." Inspired from the part in AoS's premiere where Ward arrests criminal Vanchat, would include a SHIELD Helicopter, bigger than the one in the set above, kinda like a Huey or Black Hawk, two SHIELD agents, Vanchat, Grant Ward in SHIELD outfit with a logo on the chest or shoulder, and Victoria Hand. A $40/50 set. "Attack on the Playground" This would be the biggest set, including FitzSimmons's science/medical lab, a hangar, a Quinjet and a landing hangar for the Quinjet itself, and a SHIELD SUV. Minifigures would include Fitz, Simmons, Coulson, a SHIELD pilot, and Calvin Zabo (Skye's father). This is the biggest set of them all, and would depict the scene where Calvin Zabo takes the "Super-soldier" serum given to him by Jiaying, and attempts to kill Coulson. "Mojave Desert Incursion" Includes Skye, Raina, May (if she's not included in the SUV set), Coulson, a desert building with Raina's mind-reading machine and some control panels, two soldiers working for the Centipede, a small/damaged desert building, SHIELD unmarked car. Meant to resemble a scene where Coulson's team attack the Centipede's facility where Coulson is held prisoner. What do you guys think? I have built the SHIELD helicopter which could be similar to the one in Vanchat's arrest, built the SHIELD SUV. Will update with pics soon.

Some time ago I saw a WIP of a Toyota Prius (yes RM8, another yota) and was fascinated by this project. It was an LPE+buggy motor hybrid but it was not finished and it is still not done. The link is here: So in maybe august I converted my HOG trophy truck chassis into a hybrid with a V2 LPE + an XL motor, but sadly this project was a total fail since there were a lot of gears slipping. So no pics or vid I was wondering if anyone has ever done something similar or is planning to ? Epic Technic -

Requirements: Needs to be as small as possible (Fewest bricks). Best colour match as possible. All pieces must e available in pick a brick. If a deign is used I will of course credit the designer. After some recent interest in the MKIII decoupler, it made me think should I put it on Ideas ? Would it stand on its own, or should I group it with other track items or lighting ? If you look at what TLG has said over the years, that automated controls/lights and other stuff which would turn our train layouts into proper model railways is not going to happen. If you look at the interview with the designers of the 2014 trains in issue 15 of Railbricks magazine, you'll see the reasons why. So alone it is. I have no misconceptions that this very easy design could match the great models this program has produced (Ghostbusters, Exo Suit etc..) That's not the point, I'm glad they changed its name to Ideas, because this is one that fits the definition. Throw in a railroad minifig and you've got an Ideas Polybag ! Hello! This is an idea that I haven´t seen before, and wanted to share. It is the 81.6 x 38 balloon tires stretched on the unimog rim. They are 10 studs in diameter and 5 studs wide. The tires will stretch and become unusable on the normal rim after some time! -
Hi everyone! This is my first post, so please bare with me... I would love to make a model for Lego Ideas, but need a good theme; idea. Maybe have any ideas? I would like a theme; idea that the Lego community in general would like. Something that can earn a lot of support. Maybe some old theme that I can redo, or maybe even something totally new. It should also be something that wouldn't have a lot of copyright issues, etc. so that it wouldn't be to hard for the Lego Group to actually pass it through if it ever got 10,000 supporters.
