  1. I got Yoda's Jedi Starfighter a while ago as a gift from a friend. I normally make c-models of Technic sets, so initially I wasn't sure what to do with this after building the main model (other than a Tulip!). This set has a range of Technic pieces so it was familiar but also a nice change. There no ball joints that are usually associated with Lego mechs but I thought I could still manage a range of motions. I built the frame first using the Technic pieces before adding the decoration. In the end I managed to create knee, hip and shoulder joints and the model is reasonably stable and pose-able. The Mech is equipped with missile launchers, force blasters and can transform into a flying mode, allowing Yoda to soar over rough terrain. It can crouch down for easy access to the cockpit.I quickly settled on the design for the feet and arms which shaped the way the build turned out. The knee and hip joints were revised a couple of times before settling on the current version. The wings are actually an important part of the model to ensure it remains balanced.   2. My girlfriend gave me the 4260 Road Work Crew for the holidays (you can see her present in the back of the pictures). I thought it'd be fun to have a go at building a C-Model. I grew up in a rural community and combine harvesters were a common sight in my youth. Without further ado, this is the result: The model has the following functionality: The mower drives the conveyor The conveyor almost reaches the hopper The hopper can be disconnected Rear-wheel steering The model is more fragile than I would have liked but this is the best I could manage with the limited part selection. The colours, stickers and the anniversary brick work out quite nicely. Some more pictures can be found in the Instagram post.
  3. The C-Model of notorious 42039 24 Hour Race Car. Just like Bootleg Belle, the idea here was to build an oversized desert truck. While Belle goes with hot rod styling, Dream is a pickup truck that someone carved up to extreme extent, installed an oversized and boosted V8 in the back, topped it with preposterous wing and thus fashioned a beast to dominate any desert. It looks angry and ridiculous, because that's how I felt while building it - my girlfriend was reading a particularly bad - yet published by a renowned publishing house! - novel aloud while I was building Features: â–º V8 engine with moving pistons and twin "procharger" pulleys, ribbed hose headers and two exhausts, connected to rigid transmission with differential â–º radiator with cap & hood intercooler intake â–º individual front wishbone suspension & rear live Hotchkiss drive (dragged axle) with integrated bumper â–º steering connected to HOG â–º opening doors â–º cockpit with a (non-functioning) steering wheel, dashboard and seats â–º oversized rear wing, rear view mirrors, front lights, reverse lights and stop lights, two side fuel tanks with caps
  4. Yes, another C-model of the 42078 set In the last 3 months I enjoyed my spare time in building a C-model of the 42078 Mack Anthem. My truck is an 8x4 flatbed version, with foldable crane behind the cab. I worked a lot on the cab shape, as already mentioned in @grego18f topic, who was building a Volvo FH too! It has opening doors but no tilting cab and no fake engine (I preferred a better looking cab than changing the shape to let the cab tilt). The crane is functional (all functions are manual), knobs are on both sides of the model. Main problem is the absence of the turntable. The crane is quite stable, but of course cannot load heavy loads. You can of course mod it adding a small turntable Outriggers control knob is on the back: I added 2 attachments: fake hook with chains, to move a small container, and forklift to move small pallets. Video: Model consists of around 1500 parts (so you have around 1000 leftover parts - mostly small parts and Lego System bricks). I just found another great model made of 42078 "Mack Anthem" set by @MrTekneex, a well-known C-models maker: The features are: Tilting cabin Openable doors HOG steering with working steering wheel (ahh, another cabover truck with tilting cabin and working steering wheel ) Working 6L engine Rear "doubles" at the driven 2nd axle Front and 3rd axles steering The 3rd axle is also liftable (has no steering in the raised position) Roll-off and landing / loading the container in three steps, each is driven by its own LA (or rack+housing) Dump the container Locable door of the container So far it's only on this website, so hopefully, it might appear at the Rebribale as well...
  6. Hi guys and gals, first post here, been following the forum for about 3 years now. Got bitten by the Technic bug with 42046 and here I am today. Recently bought a 42106 for cheap in Bulgaria and after building 42070 earlier the sloped panels got me thinking - there is a truck hood in this. Sooooo, let's make a truck C-model out of 42106! Full size pictures are located here:https://imgur.com/a/wOlijkp The aim of the C model is to be able to tow trailers like the MACK Anthem's one. M Longer inspired me by his 42075 terminal truck. We'll see if I manage to implement it somehow. The chassis is the same from 42106's pickup truck, then reversed a bit. Track has been widened by 2 studs, fenders made wider as well. The rear has dual tires which for the contest will be swapped with a single one just as the front axle. Currently they are a placeholder and proportions tool... I've seen how long the rules topic is so I had to put this text here... Initially it began as the chassis above, trying to figure where to stick the cab: Then after I figured out its placement came time to adjust where the doors would be. Which happen to be the ramps from the trailer. After some further shaping of the fenders and color swaps until it felt right - I got this below. The blue pins protrude for now as everything was just in sketch phase. Makes it easier to disassemble... Final shot of this for now is this: Further will come soon.   7. Hi, all, After lurking around the forum for a bit, I decided it was time to post my first MOC. This is a Star Destroyer, made from the parts in 42028 Bulldozer set. Overview: I started this MOC while experimenting with different frames and connections between parts. After some trial and error, I created a triangular frame with the sides bent in. Having just seen The Last Jedi, I was obsessed with all things Star Wars and decided to attempt an ambitious build for my low skill level- a Star Destroyer. Given that I am not the kind of person who likes to mix their sets together, I eventually settled on the 42028 set to create this MOC from- not only because the low parts count would provide a challenge, but also it would be kind of fun to see a yellow... Banana Destroyer? The frame was primarily constructed of beams and perpendicular connectors: (Note that this construction, while fitting together properly, created some stress on the parts- portions of the front push each other a bit owing to the tightness of the frame. But it's the best solution I could find given the space/ parts available. ) After that was complete, I built the engines and the distinctive cabin and attached them: Features: Authentic body shape Posable turbolasers Built entirely from parts in 42028 Bulldozer set Detailed engines and cabin More Pictures: I hope you enjoyed my MOC!   8. Lance's Plane & Trike My 3rd alternate model of Lance's Mecha Horse. The plane features a spinning propeller, working missiles, opening cockpit and detachable shield. The trike rolls on the ground and uses Flamethrower's mohawk for aiming the arrow gun. Both the models are surprisingly solid.
  9. It's about a time, since I've been ended my dark ages and now it looks like my way will be rather smaller attempts and "projects", then bigger and more sophisticated ones. My older builds had their own topics here and here, but I don't think that all of my next builds will be suitable for separate topics, so I decided to make this one, where I have intention to add all of my publishable builds. And for the beginning, here is my wip small manual buggy. Buggies are favourite Technic builds, there are many of them in all sizes, shapes and qualities. This one is intended to be small and simple, all manualy working. Now it has front and rear suspesion, openable cabin, steering and rear wheels conected to fake engine. I'd like to improve rear axle suspension, add HOG and steering wheel and some details here and there. And finaly adjust color scheme, although I'm not very disturbed with this clor vomit in this type of vehicle.
  10. I was recently given a 42060 road work crew set with the challenge to build something dancing related with it. The Swing-out is a staple of the Lindy hop dance style. It basically resembles a highly eccentric orbit like a comet, where the follow comes from arms length to close to the lead, is turned about and then moves away again (this can be repeated until either party has had enough). My question is what is the minimum parts to achieve an 'orbit'. So far my attempts require separate mechanisms for the in-and-out (using the tracks as a conveyor) and the round and round. The set has ample orange parts with which to build the dancers who keep one hand linked the entire move.

Hi there, after thinking a while about a possible c-model I found one that needed just about two hours... the main idea was to build a smaller sized version of the dump truck which is included in the 42055 set (very similar to the 42035). The dump truck runs in a double wheel made of eight annular gear quarters. It is driven by the XL motor. The big wheel can rotate in both directions, so the little truck will drive either uphill or downhill - just like a hamster in his wheel. That's all. No gearbox, no gimmicks, no intricate mechanisms. Just for fun... might be a rate of about 3 % of the 3,900 parts... so there are enough spare parts for some more modifications and additions ;-) (maybe a gear box after all, or a more sophisticated array for the counterweight). http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=569964 (One of the biggest challenges in this c-model was the fact that there are only three tan-coloured axle pins - but the truck needs four wheels. So I used a dark red 3L axle with stop for the rear wheel on the right side (not visible on the pictures). ;-)
  12. Finally, I got myself to build a 42050 C-Model out of the second set I bought purely because I liked the A-Model too much to tear it apart. Had some general ideas, but couldn't decide between a Hot Rod and Dragster, so I built both in one package. It has a hidden function of "adjusting the stance" which is purely for style and, if exaggerated, makes the car, uh, "un-dragable", but some moderate amounts of adjustment make for nice change of style. Features: â–º V8 engine with moving pistons â–º twin carb adorned with velocity stacks + hood tach â–º radiator + cooling system + front lights â–º ribbed hose headers and dragster-style Zoomie exhausts â–º rigid transmission w/o differential â–º steering connected to HOG â–º cockpit with a (non-functioning) steering wheel, dashboard and gear shifter â–º adjustable "stance" â–º wheelie bar (adjusted with stance) â–ºnamesake "Lightning Rods" in the back of cockpit for decorative purposes
  13. Hello! msk here. This model is my second 42055 C model so I named D model. First here. Harftrack vehicle with rubber band gun. I can't write long so let's start. Conneced car with stand. Don't have any physical connection so can disconnect easly. Just lifting car using hand.   15. I would like to present my latest MOC. This is a claw loader C model of set 42075. This has been built using only the pieces from this set. It features: - Hand of God (HOG) steering via the knob on the top of the cabin roof. - Front arm lifting via the black leaver in front of the cabin. This also has a lock to keep it in place. This is required as due to a lack of LA's and no worm gear included, it would not stay in place as it went up. - Manual claw opening, this uses the shock absorber to close it. I had built a winch for the rear but this didn't look "right" so I took it off. You can see in the last photo the parts which were left over after I finished this. I spent about 7 hours over the past few nights building this. I had to go back a few times and change parts used as I needed them for another parts of the model. My building process was: Chassis Lifting arm Cabin Body work Overall I am happy with how it worked out, it ended up better than I was expecting.   16. I'm not sure if this MOC belongs in the Technic or Star Wars forum, but I'll post it here and let the moderators decide. I recently picked up set # 75532, Star Wars Scout Trooper & Speeder Bike. It's a very nice set, but has no alternate build, so I made a C-Model (or B, I suppose) out of it. Here is what the original looks like: Endor Walker I built a Star Wars-themed walker as the alternate model: Functions: Opening cabin Tilting cabin Pivoting feet and legs Features: Cabin with seat Twin cannons Turbine engine under cabin The legs and feet can be set in many different poses, with each of them moving independently.   17. Hi Eurobrickers, I really like the idea of the TC 25 shrinking contest, but unfortunately I won't be able to participate. This contest will give us a lot of creative mocs. In some cases the participants will choose the same set, which will give the opportunity to compare and appreciate the entries. Nice! Back in 2017, I built a simple small C-Model of (part of) the BWE set 42055: A shrinked version of the mining truck which was included in this set. It was also available as a single set (42035) some time before - rather this is the colour scheme my little C-model corresponds to due to the yellow panel. The main challenge was that it needed 4 wheels (= 12 t bevel gears), but 42055 includes (hard to believe...) only 3 pins for that purpose (tan 2L axle pins without friction tan). ;-) So the fourth axle ist a brown 3L axle with stop.   18. Hey everyone, CrazyKreations here. We are proud to present to you all our new alternate builds using the Lego set 42126, the Ford F-150 Raptor. This would be the 5th alternate build model that we have designed from the Ford Raptor! As always this model has a variety of features and detailed instructions on how to build this model. This model is a 1970 Dodge Charger and was inspired by Dom's Offroad Charger from the Fast and Furious 7 movie. The movie car featured an offroad modification of the traditional Dodge Charger for an offroad scene in the movie. We were inspired by this car and decided to remodel it using only the 42126 Ford F-150 Raptor's parts.   19. Hey everyone, its been a long time since my latest addition to the forum in form of a MOC, as ussual. This time i took a different path for the MOC and started to play around C-Model concept and targeted the new 42128 Tow truck. This model has plenty of parts, interesting features and functions which can be reworked into something new and something different. I chose concrete pump truck due to lack of them in this comunity, i never saw any exept upon googling them directly. My model has similar dimensions and number of functions to the original model, exept they are filling very different role, and mainly to complement the 42112 concrete mixer which they fit together nicely i must say. About the development of the model itself, it was difficult proces to start with, since my expertise in C-model world is nothing extraordinary and its more difficult that it may seems. and i strugled a lot with many functions that i expected to have on this truck. many features were redesigned over and over again. About the looks, i tried to match the colours as best as i could but there is a still space for improvement on my side, also the cabin is bit colourfull on my taste, but i was not able to find different solution to fit this case. about the functions you will find below list.   20. RC Rock crawler. Features AWD drive without differentials using 69730 "Large angular position motor"(As it has realy good torque), Steered by L-motor, and springless suspension (concept by superkoala). Lack of differentials gives nice off-road perfomance, but the crawler has big steering radius due to that.42114 C-model.   21. Hello all. Here is my LEGO interpretation of a circle-track dirt Modified, which is popular in the United States. Several similar versions of them race under different sanctioning organizations, the most popular being IMCA and UMP. The car is a C-model of the 42039 "24 Hours Race Car", and thus uses only the parts from that set. 21 studs wide between the hubs, 23 at the widest part of the body, 50 long, and 14 high from the center of the wheels. Has the fake V-8 engine mounted toward the front, but fully behind the front axle, as in the real vehicle. Front suspension is independent double-wishbone, similar to the A-model's design. Rear suspension is a reasonably accurate approximation of the live-axle 3-link with panhard bar that is used in many (but not all) of these cars. Uses a "hand of god" style steering with the finger knob on the roof, but is also connected to the working steering wheel in the left-hand-drive cockpit. Thanks for looking!
  22. C-Model for Creator set 31085 (Mobile Stunt Show). An oversized hot rod for stunt shows, spewing fire, going fast and loud and getting some nice air time after jumping from ramps. Features: - individual suspension for each wheel (hard front and softer rear for crazy landings) - minifig-scale cockpit with steering wheel, gear shifter and mock gauge - small but openable and functional trunk (set's wrench would fit, or maybe two pizzas?) Pictured is the render of exact .io model of the physical build (aside from the rubber band for the rear suspension) - I don't have enough space and proper lighting to make some good photos.
  23. This year has seen me move away from Technic C-modelling into using system bricks. In between the various lockdowns I picked up quite few Friends sets to C-model due to their very low price per piece on the second-hand market which gave some good practice. I saw the Velocity Racers set on my only trip to the Lego Store this year and the part balance made me think this set had a lot of potential for alternate builds, so I picked up a brand new copy (on sale). Having quite a few Technic pieces in the box, helped with my decision. Over the few months since then, I've managed to produce three different C-models using only the parts in set 71709. I'd share with you this collection of Velocity Boats, Fighter Plane and Trike. The race for the Key-Tana can now take place by land, air or Sea. Also Hauser can now put a bit more of a fight, having some vehicles of his own rather than just a hoverboard. Velocity Boats: Velocity Fighter Plane: Velocity Trike:
  24. This model was the result of a choice I had to make. I could either come up with an entry for the Eurobricks small car contest, or I could enter the TLCB Lockdown Competition. I really didn't feel inspired to make a small car, so I went with making a C model. I chose 42098, largely because of the fact that it was the only set I hadn't started to mix into my large collection. Initially, I was going to build some kind of wheeled vehicle, but then I hit a real builder's block. At that point, I was looking at the small wheel arches, and thought that it looked kind of like the bottom parts of an attack helicopter cockpit. After I realized that, I made the cockpit section, and got going from there. This helicopter is ultimately a nonesuch, and combines design elements from a number of real and fictional helicopters, including the Hellhound helicopter from Patlabor 2, and a design I found on Deviantart called the Fujin, which was designed by MeganeRid, The rotors spin, obviously, but they also have collective pitch control, which was very hard to implement given the parts available in the set. 42098 includes a shockingly small selection of gears and other technical bits, so I had to get very creative. The rotors are at their lowest position in this picture. The collective does not use a turntable, but instead uses a brick built solution that hearkens back to the very first Technic helicopter, set 852. The actual control for this function is a lever with a red bushing, on the right of the photo. This is the blades at maximum pitch, which better shows the collar that is used to simulate a swash plate. The second most major function is the complex landing gear. A 12z gear at the end of both wings controls this function, which uses worm gears to prevent the gear from collapsing. The first pic shows the gear retracted for flight, the second and third show the gear down for landing. The last set of functions relate to the gun pod, mounted under the fuselage. The pod can be traversed 90 degrees to either side, and will clear the landing gear towers. This is controlled by a 12z gear located behind the air intakes. The gun will also elevate from horizontal to almost vertical, using a knob on the back of the pod. An underbelly view, showing the gun pod, as well as part of the rotor drivetrain. The rotor is spun by the 2 12z gears on the tail. The gun pod, up close. The rubber connectors on the forward fuselage are actually a travel lock, and can hold the gun in place when not in use. Maximum elevation. Or is this depression? I can't decide how you'd define this. On the tarmac. The landing gear do work, but I also built a stand so that this heli can be posed as if in flight, with the gear retracted. Some up close pictures: This detail is actually important. As most of you have probably noticed, this helicopter has no tail rotor, and is not coaxial, so what gives? My vision is that a real version of this helicopter would use a NOTAR system, which uses a ducted fan to effectively replace a tail rotor. That's what the large vents on the tail are supposed to be for. Now, in terms of scale, this model is quite large. CamelHog the hedgehog and Spam for scale. One last beauty shot: The color scheme may not be very military, but I'd chalk that up to this being an airshow/display team livery. All in all, I am quite happy with this model, it was a real challenge to make in the limits of the parts I had, so much so was actually running out of 3L pins, but it came together nicely, and the color scheme actually worked out a lot better than I expected it to. Now, on to the contest. Stay safe out there, folks. P.S. I'll give a shout out to the first person who is able to guess where the manufacturer's name of this heli came from.
  25. Dear all, With the arrival of the new Volvo set, I felt like rebuilding my old 42030 front loader. The problem was that I still had a MOC built, standing in the cupboard since 2016 :s So I finally built some instructions for it (available at Rebrickable), and made a short video. Here is a presentation. The C-Model is a Jeep-like car (with Volvo colors ;) ) As the A model, it is fully motorized. The L and XL motors are connected to the transmission, and the servomotor ensures the steering (with Ackermann geometry, and working steering wheel): The two driving motors are connected by a differential, which allows combining their rotations. If we note x = 220 rpm the speed of the XL motor and y = 390 rpm the speed of the L motor), we can emulate 4 gears: L forward, XL backward: V = y - x = 390 - 220 = 170 rpm, XL forward, L off: V = y = 220 rpm, L forward, XL off: V = 390 rpm, XL forward, L forward: V = 390 + 220 = 610 rpm. The differential is also connected to a V6 fake engine, and the rear axle is pendular: Finally, the M motor is used to power a crane: Here is a small video to show it in action: Hope you like it!
