Thank you so much for stealing the picture (in low resolution) from my Flickr stream (link in my signature). What a nice guy you are!

Eurobricks Event 2016 - Sign-Up Topic
L@go replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Alright - sign me up! I'll probably be arriving late Sunday as we have our Norwegian LUG event from Friday to Sunday and I'm one of the organisers - but when I get there I'd like to participate :) And Cecilie: I'll pick you up on that chalet offer! Edit: I see Cecilie already explained that thing with the Norwegian event. So much for being in a hurry to sign up and not reading the entire thread... and yay! WhiteFang and Belun, you're coming back! Brilliant. Looking forward to another... shall we say, interesting experience in the store... :D -
I don't think so, I think they've just been delayed for some reason. I was in Billund last weekend and was told by somebody who should know what he was talking about, that they filmed the bank video in the studio in the Idea House last Thursday (so I'm a bit surprised it isn't out yet).

That is just quite simply amazing. The amount of detail you've crammed into such a massive building... I can see how that took you a year! Fantastic stuff. And with lights! I'm definitely going to pore over this at BRICK... I'd heard that there would be an impressive theatre, but this... this is on another level. Bravo.

If you go to Brighton within the next couple of weeks... you might find my spaceship in the community window! :D I haven't seen it in there myself, but I hope it looks nice.

Yes, he is. That's what it's supposed to look like!

This is just beautiful. It's definitely on of the best modulars I've seen in a long time, and there are a lot of them around! At first glance, the window sills and the grille tiles used on the roof catch my eye, as well as the section with round tiles on the pavement in front of the main entrance. And the tower itself, of course. And the base really sets it apart. So well done. Now I'm off to Flickr to drool some more :)

It's not an office - as she says in the beginning of the video, it's the Idea House, a museum not normally open to the public, but a place where the LEGO employees can go to get inspired by the LEGO history. It's a very interesting place, and it's located inside Ole Kirk Christiansen's old house in the center of Billund. And the legendary Vault is in the basement right underneath it :)

That is quite shocking indeed. Best of luck with the rest of the event! I had to go home to do something called 'work'. Rest assured it wasn't my idea.

You have to temember that the LEGO Movie sets had lots of torsos and head prints that were only in one set. I don't think the Fabuland torso means that we will see a Fabuland comeback... but I'd love to be wrong :)

The arms are on backwards - the print happens first, then the white mark on the neck tells the machine that this is the front, so the arms don't get put on the wrong way. Which means this is very strange...

I'll repeat my praise from Flickr: It's absolutely stunning. And properly scary. Not that any of those two facts surprise me the least considering who's behind this, you two create some of the maddest MOCs out there. It's a brilliant collaboration and, I repeat, it would be so great to be able to see these together at some point (even if it's probably never going to happen). Good job, both of you. This is the kind of stuff that makes people who are not into LEGO realise just how creative it's possible to be with these bricks!

Wow! That looks great. Really looking forward to this. It's right in the middle of a very busy event season, but it's now been two weeks since my last event, so I'm having withdrawal symptoms :D Two down, three more to go before Christmas...

Now you've got us wondering.

I'd imagine getting any kind of factory tour without either a) being in a bigger group going on one of those RLUG tours or b) knowing somebody inside the company would be extremely unlikely. So I'd definitely say the RLUG option is your best bet. The Idea House is not open to the public; you have to be invited to see the exhibition inside. It's not intended as a public display, it's there mainly for the employees to seek inspiration and to teach them about the company history. The Vault is even more restricted, only a very select few employees have key cards with access. But keep in mind that the LEGO House is scheduled to open in 2017. You say you're planning a trip in 'a year or two' - if you end up going in 2017 that will most certainly be worth visiting!

So you're Paperballpark! Nice to have met you. As I told you in Swindon, this thing is very impressive - I bet it was popular with the crowds!

Hugo Santos is not French, he's Portuguese. I know him well. But contacting him won't help, as he didn't build this - he just posted it to Rebrick (just read the description). The building was made by Mr_No - who IS French... ;)

That's a very nice conversion indeed! I've got one of the original small ones of my wish list, but God knows when there'll be an opportunity to get one... I like your stickerwork, those sets look lovely on the shelf. And I'm glad I could inspire your pick-a-brick wall :)

That's a very funny coincidence. Prolific builder Karf Oohlu posted this earlier today, and I thought, what kind of piece is that black thing? And the answer pops up here only a few hours later...

This is a really, really well-designed modular - like lightningtiger said, it looks very official, it could very well have been a set. I love your colour combinations - there's some surprising ones here, is that black and dark green for the awnings at the back? I wouldn't have figured that could look so good against the dark tan - and I'm actually glad you didn't go for masonry bricks all the way around, but restricted it to those limited spots on the facade. It's just enough. I also like the way the access to the top-floor apartment goes through the building and around the back, externally, that's brilliant. And your interiors? What's not to like there...? :) Again, really, really well done. Applause!

If you look at the biggest version of the picture, you can read it - it says Point Dume, Malibu, California. It doesn't appear to be a real building, but it's certainly similar to houses that are located there.

Have a look here. Order the bricks. Build yourself a copy.

Now, I love your crooked houses - but I think I love this even more. And could you possibly have chosen a more different architectural style? I don't think so. But it's certainly a brilliant way to demonstrate that you can excel at pretty much anything you put your mind to. This is astonishingly beautiful. Now I'm off to Flickr to have a closer look :)
