  1. Nice work! I like the half-timbered construction, as well as the garden outside. +1 on both claims.
  2. Really terrific series here! Great work! Your snow designs are perfect, especially the heaps around the path. All these scenes are so excellently built, it's amazing.
  3. Very nice job! Although the sail might have looked better with more plates, you used just a few to make a very nice effect. The repeated red and blue stripes almost completely disguise the joints in the sail, and the plates over the mast work great to add some depth.
  4. Thank you! It really is a fun technique, both to control the lighting and to add some depth. Thank you, Gabe! You're right, that would be a better idea than a border. I've seen what you're talking about several times, and it looks quite good.
  5. Yeah... Some of the guards have grown dimwitted from long hours of duty Thank you! Thanks!
  6. This rockwork is excellent! It's detailed and angled enough to be interesting, but not super-textured. Very nice work.
  7. Thank you! Thanks! I'm glad it looks so "cinematic"! Thank you! Unfortunately, I'm flat out of light green leaves, and the dark green looked too gloomy to me. Pretend there's more tree further up Now that I look at it again, I see what you mean about the grouped flowers, but I was modeling the landscaping after Mark of Falworth's latest, The Temple of the Twin Jaguars. I'll give you a call Thank you! Thanks!
  8. Thanks! I'll try that next time. Thank you! Thanks! Thank you! A friend of mine, Gilbert Despathens (of Avalonia), is a huge castle and medieval history buff. I had to make sure everything looked accurate
  9. Could someone please sign me up for de Gothia's plague prevention force, please? Thank you!
  10. I was thinking maybe the wave reaching to the surface around the triangle, as though it was splashing out onto the floor. The smooth curve just seems to clash with the cheese slope water without any texturing on the end. Oh, and +1 for the UP credits of waves and minifig posing; I have to agree that the flowing water category would be better as a stream, though.
  11. Thank you, everyone! Thanks! I'm glad those details came out well
  12. UoP +1 on all claims except waves. The waves just don't seem very noticeable to me, compared with the rest of the build. That said, the scene is hilarious, as are the replies
  13. Character Intro- Kashifa ibn Mu'adh This counted as my character intro- however, I only photographed the lower portion for my intro post in the guild thread, posting the entire build under a separate thread. Am I able to count this for freebuild points?
  14. +1 on the three credits. Very lovely architecture!

  16. Really great review. I haven't been too interested in this set, but it's really looking a lot better than I anticipated
  17. Thank you! That's precisely the look I was going for Thank you! Thanks! I thought about adding a layer border to transition into the sandstone, but it looked too clashing to me. A green border is definitely a good suggestion.
  18. @SkaForHire: And you even got a new member! Kashifa bint Mu'adh, treasure hunter of Kaliphlin, signing in!
  19. Kashifa bint Mu'adh is a treasure-hunter from Kaliphlin. She was kidnapped as an infant and sold into slavery, and was raised by a merchant from Sultan's Gate before escaping at the age of 13. Today, she earns a good living exploring both in ancient archives and throughout the wild lands, finding long-lost treasure hoards from the centuries before the great wars. Although her red hair obviously doesn't flow from Kaliphlin blood, her true ancestry is lost in a mist no explorer could pierce. In a long-forgotten tomb on Gorr, a vast treasure was once concealed. After careful research and searching, it has at last been rediscovered. Above, a hired worker waits for good news- of treasure, or of a return to civilization. It hardly matters to him anymore, after a week in the jungles. The entrance into the tomb. The title of this thread is actually the wrong character name- I just found out that "ibn" means "son of", and "bint" is the Arabic word for "daughter of." Whoops Thanks for reading, and constructive criticisms are greatly appreciated. Have a nice day! EDIT: University of Petraea credits: +1 Dense foliage landscaping +1 Lighting +1 Interior Design +1 Life in Kaliphlin
  20. Very nice! I like the detail at the base of the mast, and the subtle angles in the yardarms are perfect. The flags flapping wildly are a very nice detail, too. I think the mast might look better if it was another plate thicker, though, so as not to be a plank. Also, if you have the pieces, I think it might look better to have more of a splash at the end of the giant wave, rather than leaving it hanging in midair. As it is, it seems a bit too smooth to be realistic. At the prow, what are the two poles the captain's holding onto supposed to be? Finally, the sailor bailing with a pot is a really nice detail
  21. EDIT: I just remembered I haven't posted my intro yet. Never mind.
  22. No, it's cool. What I should have added is that I've heard that from people on MOCpages
  23. Cool. Thanks, guys GoH definitely seems a lot less restrictive than LCC so far. Also, are you free to change sigfigs and/or factions (though the latter would be frowned upon)?
