  1. Question: I like to build very detail-heavy, intricately-lighted sets, usually focused on getting one excellent shot instead of building a complete building or an even border. I know I'm supposed to have red and dark blue in Kaliphlin builds, but is it OK if it's a red/dk blue flower, for instance, instead of having a random flagpole in the middle of a jungle?
  2. Thank you! I've heard from several people already that I should have covered the headlight bricks with 1x1 plates. Thank you, Gideon! Maybe I'll go visit sometime Thanks! I'm glad that detail turned out well- I felt like it was too square without the window frames. I assume you're referring to the interior of the wall? I see what you mean about the symmetry, and Gideon was a major inspiration for this technique. What do you think I should do to make it more solid? More larger pieces mixed in?Yes, all this good feedback is definitely making me more interested in GoH
  3. Thank you! Thanks! I'm kind of leaning toward Kaliphlin, though Thanks!
  4. Thank you! Thanks! Thank you! I meant the moat as covered with thin ice, so that's probably why it's shallow. I'm glad you like the cross-section- it's a fairly common technique, but this was my first time trying it. The roofs are actually angled slightly forwards, but I forgot to get a good picture of the slope. That's a good point about the snow's weight
  5. Really nice shaping and landscaping on the barge!
  6. Terrific fig designs! Those combos look terrific!
  7. Terrific sloping on that ship!
  8. Despite its remote location in the far north, Ofdor has faced determined attacks in days of old. However, the city has resisted every attack since the first erection of its mighty fortifications. The walls are wood pilings, set around a thick core of crushed and compacted stone. Outside, a moat encircles the city, broken only at the gates. The putlogs set into the top of the wall and jutting outwards serve as mounting points for hoardings, temporary scaffoldings that improve the defenders’ field of fire. The stone layer measures over 5 feet thick, running through the entire wall. Although lightly guarded in peacetime, the gates are always manned by members of the city guard. They quickly stop any intruders from entering the city. “Hands up!” Two of the city guard stand watch outside the gate. I'm thinking about getting involved with GoH, so I thought I'd post a recent MOC to see how much feedback I get. Larger sizes of these images are available on Flickr. Thanks for viewing!
  9. The color of the swamp looks really good!
  10. Great work on the curved path and the undergrowth! Killer monkey-
  11. Beautiful job on the layered walls and the FP! The color scheme looks really nice here!
  12. Nice work on the tower and the irregular base!
  13. Just been looking through all these new pictures. The Sea Cow looks to be far out of reach for my wallet, and despite the minifigures, Benny's spaceship doesn't look especially well designed to me. However, that police dropship is definitely at the top of my list right now
  14. This thing is awesome! The story is told perfectly through the pictures!
  15. Those figs totally rock!
  16. Nice job! My favorite potion is the tailgate, but I also like all the goods hanging off!
  17. Great opening photo! I think opening this to everyone will be all right, because it will still be largely Kaliphinites who participate.
  18. Sounds like we are close to opening the university! All we have left to do, it seems, is to get the picture of Gabe's lecture hall for the announcement, update the wiki one last time with the recent suggestions,, and decide how to run a board of appeals.
  19. Would Nocturnus treat troops from their foreign allies kindly, or, given the high proportion of monsters in Nocturnus, would they ridicule/ try to eat them? Or would it depend on which Nocturnian?
  20. I'd like to build for the university. From what's on the wiki, it seems pretty close to completion.
  21. Thanks! I'm hoping to learn a lot of new building techniques from this group.
