Gladiator Race Truck

Very nicely done front suspension. The whole truck looks like it came out of a mad Max film and the video is nicely done too. -

Pneumatics General Discussion
allanp replied to 9v system's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well, I guess they are v2. V1 was single acting, v2 was double acting and had some different sizes and colours. So I guess pneumatics have been v2 since the late 80's, it's only now that they have started calling them v2. -
Technic Ideas Book 8891

Have added the parts to build all the models to rebrickable if anyone wants to know if they have the parts to build. http://rebrickable.com/sets/8891-1/idea-book-8891-technic-technic-1991 -
Well, like I say, we have never had the 2h sets leaked this early, not by a long shot. But if this list does include 2h then I'de like to see new, accurate tyre treads on the Claas Xerion 5000 TRAC on red rims and possibly smaller version of these tyres on the volvo, and that should be pneumatic of course . Re the ultimate IP car, could IP stand for intellectual property, meaning licensed? Could it be the ultimate Aventador or something like that, a real supercar after 17 years?

Well, I'de like one like this: Basing the crown wheel on a 36t double bevel gear gives a much better 3:1 reduction and allows it to be driven by a bevel or by a spur gear. The design of the 20 tooth bevel gears that goes onto the axle drive shafts has a full 1M thickness for strength and really helps to eliminate the issue with the axle sliding out the gear causing loss of drive. Also, by having 4 inner gears as opposed to 3, and by having them all have a full 1M thickness, this greatly increases the torque capacity to over three times that of the current differential, by my guesstimation. Flagship sized cars having large diameter wheels and no reduction after the differential place lots of stress on the differential. This differential would allow for motorised flagship sized supercars and offroaders. I would also like to see a new larger 8880 style low friction CV joint to go with it.

I would not switch them. In real life the rear ones are harder to carry very heavy loads in the bed. When the bed is empty the rear suspension is way too hard, it's a compromise. So unless you intend to have very heavy loads in your 42043 bed, id'e keep the suspension as it says in the instructions. This set does have more weight on the front wheels that it does on the back when the bed is empty. -

I think customer services will help but to be fair, this wasn't TLGs fault. You may have to pay for it or if it is not available you can buy any blue hose from bricklink that's the same length or longer and cut it to length. http://www.bricklink.com/browseList.asp?itemType=P&catString=530 -

Look at the bevel gears that are on the shafts the lights are mounted on. One should be above it's mated gear and one should be below. It's just like how 2 differentials need to be opposite to turn the same way. -
Nah, just have it so the servo mimics the position the control stick is at. Then have a direction switcher (like the current one), and two possible extra controls would be a trim and a sensitivity. you'de use the trim setting to make something steer straight for example, and you'de use the sensitivity to control how far the servo moves in relation to the stick. I think the sensitivity control would suit your needs, yes? Edit: Another idea, just have one stick on the remote or "segment" with the direction, trim and sensitivity controls. There would be no batteries or transmitter in this segment. That would be it's own "base" segment that you would plug in these individual stick segments. These segments would be square, say 4x4 studs with connections on all sides so the sticks could be mounded in pretty much any configuration. You probably wouldn't need the direction control, just switch the segment round. Also available in black Edit 2: Over time there could be additional segments released, like d-pads and so on. So, who wants an RC pneumatic JCB licensed backhoe with 13 remote segments!

Would a proportional transmitter be better? One that is absolute, not relative like the train remote.

Don't worry about the left over parts, I had about the same after bag one and I was also missing the same piece, but I have plenty in stock and for such a small piece I didn't bother calling customer services, however if you want to call customer services they are very good and will send you a replacement piece asap. -

That's not pendular suspension. Pendular suspension is like what you get on the rear axle of 42030, the axle doesn't move up and down, it just pivots about a fixed axis of rotation. The arocs has live axle suspension.
