What do you need it for? -
About the gearbox, if they were using only 16t clutch gears then I would not have built it that way (with the two visible 16t regular gears located where they are). Try building a simple 2 speed gearbox with those gears and you might see what I mean. However, if there is a new size of clutch gear then that IS how I'de build it. Hmmmm.

If you fit a car into a box by compressing the suspension and leave it there for a long time, it may permanently damage/deform parts, so I'de say it's not allowed.

All of these designs are amazing, All of the instructions for them are amazing, The fact that you can buy all the bits from a fan made store is amazing, It's all made by the fans, it all works together beautifully and it's all amazing! Thousands and thousands of hours of work by all involved, and it's all there to enjoy. I love this community and this is a wonderful display of it. Best in the world!

You can look at how the arm raises/lowers from 8480 space shuttle or from 8292 cherry picker.

This is great. Normally I do not like RC, especially in official sets, but this could be an exception if you decided to make it RC.

Ah, well why not use the new 1x11 pneumatics with an auto pump to motorise them? It would be all Lego, they have a slightly longer stroke than the large LAs and they would look more like the right dimensions as they are thinner. That would be good for a 1:1 scale car!

How long do they need it to be? Would these do? http://evolutiontoys...ators-c-39.html

LAs come in two sizes. There is no way to mod each size. The large one can hold an enormous amount of static load with no motor connected. They are a screw thread so don't require anything to hold a load in place. The smaller one however, although being a screw can slip in the threads.

I guess it's because they are so new that they have to make sure they have enough for all the 42043 sets first before they stock up on the spares, or it could also be to increase the percieved value of the set during it's initial release. if they are going to include those parts in the sets for next year, like the volvo excavator, then they will make sure they have enough for those sets as well before selling them individually. Or, it could be that they have no intention of selling them individually. Those are my guesses anyway.

Correct, it's not Technic but it does make me wonder what level of functionality an official Technic version will have. A rotating bucket wheel with lots of buckets that can actually "dig" and drop it's load onto a conveyor can only be built so small. So to have that functionality the whole model would have to be very large. Can TLG justify such a large model of a BWE? As much as I love to see them making something new as opposed to yet another crane truck or whatever, I assume a BWE is not as recognisable to kids as a fire truck or an excavator. We may have to accept that it won't have that level of functionality to avoid disappointment, but I hope I am wrong.

AHA! A riddle! Ok, these models perform well on stage. Stage is an anagram for gates. Gareth Gates was a runner up in pop idol in 2002. The year 2002 started on a Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon was a hit song for the Moody Blues. Moody Blues have the initials M and B, the same as Mercedes Benz. Mercedes Benz always gives us amazing new parts. OMG do you know what these means?! Amazing new parts! YIPPEE!!!

That's great news, though you are gonna need a week off work to get it all done for Dec 1st! I know they are only smaller sets, but there are a good number of them this year and there's the time it takes to film and edit the reviews. So I just want to wish you and sir Hamington Hamston Pickle the 3rd good luck, we're all counting on you!
