  1. I write like the look of that. It's for kids and it'll have the usual slapstick comedy dotted about but that's kind of expected on a cartoon based on a toy aimed at 6-12 yr olds. The new female Jedi looks quite cool actually in her design and it being completely OT based is also promising with regards to the addition of other characters. With the potential for this, Rebels and Rogue One to add long overdue characters it's quite exciting to see act they'll bring us. Imagine if Rebels actually brought us a Ponda Baba or Dr Evazan figure while Freemakers gave us Zuckuss or 4-Lom along with Dengar?
  2. I can design something for you but I don't think you'll find anyon that will print one figure. Chances are you'll have to order five as a minimum order. PPM on eBay will do five of something for you too.
  3. If we have the same promo over here it will be £50 threshold.
  4. It normally depends on a couple of things. If I need it quickly then I'll go for a seller in the UK. If it's much better value then I'll go for a seller abroad. I have no issues with doing either and I've had parts arrive from the other side of the world.
  5. Colour consistency is something that will occur wherever parts are made as, has been mentioned in another thread, that different countries have specific restrictions on sourcing plastic ad dyes from within that country so it's almost to be expected that there would be some level of inconsistency... It happening on one figure across two parts like torso and legs does seem slack with regards to quality control. That said it still doesn't address the issue raised of things cracking. All of the things above, however slight or seemingly more obvious still don't talk about cracking, something I've never had on anything other than a second hand part, which incidentally wasn't a 'chinese made' part. I think I've only noticed one arm of a figure being a looser connection (odd how it was one arm and not the other while a second copy of the same figure was fine) but besides that I've never had anything that has been noticeable but then again I'm not interested in testing almost imperceptible tolerances on clutch power if they make no discernible difference to usage. On your last point I think Lego have made a few those 'scarred' design choices lately including figures from Lone Ranger and the new Hoth Luke.
  6. Sell all clones and forget anything George Lucas did after 1983 ever happened.
  7. I'd love to see the evidence of how promo figures crack or break more than other figures rather than it being anecdotal evidence. I've never had a 'Chinese made' part, be it minifig part or brick, crack or break... in fact I've never had a part crack or break wherever it's made from. Unfortunately I've only got around 500-700 minifigures and over a hundred or more sets so maybe I don't buy enough Lego to be able to tell. I've picked up every promo figure from Star Wars and Superheroes to date and never had an issue whether they've been in a polybag, limited release cube, DVD insertion etc...
  8. You can order as many as you like from different retailers but Lego limit the buying up of stock of large sets for obvious reasons. If you go into store then just give them the email address your VIP account is registered to and they'll add the points to that. I lost my first card a few years go and they even managed to switch the points from the old card to the new one based on the email addresses.
  9. Mine was sent yesterday as the Paypal payment went through as an e-cheque for some reason.
  10. To be fair... it was actually around £6.50 per figure when I've looked back at the auction. I think I offered £5 at first. eBay seller in Mexico that had a few listed (no gun or full backpack). One eI'd seen that the poly was out at the NYTF with no real street date yet I thought it might be worth it. I'll BL the backpack parts anyway. If it comes out a later date in the poly then I'll just sell that on.
  11. As of today the Lego store in Liverpool has the Batcave in the storeroom but have had no instruction for a pre release to VIP members. Looks like we'll be the 1st March unless there's a very quick change of instruction.
  12. Well... I've got two coming from eBay for around £5 each so If I get a third one as a promo then I'll be fine. Best to keep all bases covered just in case.
  13. I just popped in to the Liverpool Lego store and they have this in the stockroom but don't have any instruction for a VIP Prerelease so it's staying in the stock room until the 1st March unless they hear anything different. They've also not heard anything about Mr Freeze being a promo bag for it so unless they hear different in the next 2 weeks then it may be out later in the year.
  14. I'm not bothered at all. I just recreated the artwork from preview image of the SDCC figure. I put it on Flickr so people could make some decals. It's not my design so I can't complain if someone prints it.
  15. That's definitely my artwork for Arsenal. Is there silver for the straps or is it just white?
  16. I think it's actually much larger but it's down to not just being one building... that said my Arkham Asylum is still boxed up until I have the space to display.
  17. I've actually sold all the Hoth sets I've bought from the Wampa Cave to the Battle Of Hoth. Some of the figures have been good but nothing that really tells me to keep hold of it. Now with this set it's like they're putting them all back together and giving me a chance to pick them up again with the addition of some nice figs, both updates and new. The Snowspeeder matches up with last year's single release speeder with the main pilot and the rear gunner so having Luke/Dak makes sense now we're being given Wedge/Hobbie and we've wanted Hobbie for a while as well as an update for Wedge. It doesn't look like Wedge is too updated but the helmet does look like there's a bit of wear on it so that's nice. All in all the figures are really nice with K-3PO, Major Derlin and Toryn Farr although I think this was a great opportunity to give us the giveaway Han but in blue this time... that would have been a nice touch. I think if they'd even just added some of the elements from the 7879 Echo Base in this such as the Bacta Tank and expanded the ops room out a little it would have presented so much better and been received with a little more warmth. As I moved on the Hoth sets it means that buying this set wouldn't mean replicating anything and would remove the need to go to the secondary market for the figures. I'm thinking the 8 updates/new figs would be enough on the secondary to make buying the set a serious option even at a seemingly exaggerated price. I might sell the Wampa on to get a little something back and having a second Tauntaun for Han to accompany the one I already have for Luke is also a plus. If I can pick up a used 7879 without the figures I'll certainly go for that to expand this set and make it the set it probably should have been in the first place. Maybe a £20 BL order for some white slopes to expand the outer area might also be in order at some point...
  18. Well that Xinh Arsenal uses the artwork that I set up on Flickr which only Decool to this point have released. Interesting that half the figures in this wave have slightly rounded shoulders on here... just look at Harley, Ghost Rider and Silver Surfer compared to Lois Lane. They're actually much closer to genuine Lego torsos. I thought it was quite funny that the article states that Decool has proprietary torso fixings... 'Proprietary'... are you sure that's the right word for a bootleg?
  19. Sounds like you've fallen foul of someone at Customer Service. I think maybe being patient and getting back in touch in a week or two might be in order.
  20. Why would Bob be part of the Rube Moderator's Club? I've never seen him be rude to anyone... He's nowhere near as rude as the rest of the mods...
  21. I'll have to upload the OT 'Despecialised' editions to enjoy the original theatrical films in blu ray quality for you! The room looks fantastic!
  22. Not every piece in each set is listed.
  23. No wonder it's not referred to as Echo Base as it's definitely not that. It makes the recent £20 set rather odd in that all the figures from that are available in this. Disappointing that the Snowspeeder doesn't have an updated and more accurate canopy piece. I'm interested to see how updated Luke is so we can really see how many unique figures there is in this set. The older Echo Base set would actually help to complete this as 'Base' with the Bacta tanks etc.
  24. I'm not sure we need an Imperial Snowtrooper BP to be honest... There was three in the AT-AT, two in the Snowspeeder and one in the current £20 Hoth set... and there'll be more in the UCS Hoth base.
