Post Your Superhero Minifig Collections Here!

Only the torso is unique on that Supes and there's a perfect bootleg of it. You probably couldn't tell it apart from a real one. -
Let's not do a rumour and speculation thread to then feed a fact and discussion thread. This basically should be the fact and discussion thread anyway. We have enough good sources here to base discussion on which then gets official confirmation to be true or occasionally not.

I feel your pain. I must admit I wasn't going to go down that route but I actually picked up a couple of them really cheaply and I'd already picked up all the Batman and Robin variants so it felt like a natural route (especially as I've sold most of my Marvel stuff). Even yesterday I took the risk of paying £4 for a 'custom' printed Scarecrow with a torn paper decal for the torso on eBay but it turned out it was an original head, hat and legs so I've ordered the torso from a seller on eBay. I even managed to pick up an original Robin for around £7 and I think the original blue Nightwing cost me around £17 which is pretty good compared to some prices. I've made a BL order for several parts and I'll be listing some custom Alfreds from BvS to cover the costs. Hopefully in around a week or so I'll be able to post new photos of the Robins, Batman etc and then break up the others by character such as all Jokers, Catwoman, Riddler etc. I've got a Christo New 52 Reverse Flash coming too along with an 'Arrow' Slade Wilson so I'll have several Arrowverse figures to photograph together. -

I must admit I'm close to completing my DC minifig collection now and just need a couple of parts from the original Batman line figures. Once I get those I'll probably update a lot of my DC photos and post them in full. I've also got a couple more Batman variants from Christo on their way so it'll be good to get those in the family photo.... then there's the Summer wave figures to have to do it again... it never ends! -

I've got the Arealight Boba Fett backpack and it's excellent... It really finishes off the UCS Fett figure. I wouldn't have any concerns about the quality of their stuff. -
Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

I think that Mystique is a copy of Phoenix Custom's figure (although also close to Christo's version). Wolverine is OLS even down to the white lines in the torso print. -

That plastic doesn't appear to be their usual matt stuff. Maybe a change in manufacturing? -
I'm also thinking she's far more closely related to Han in terms of personality than Rey. The 'Wannabe tough' tag that someone lumped them both together in was ridiculous. Rey was never wannabe tough... she was independent but emotionally damaged due to being abandoned but just got on with her life until ultimately becoming a bad megablocks as her force powers developed... Jyn just seems like she's been a trouble maker most of her life and in the thick of things. Far more Han-like.

MCU Punisher Custom - advices?

I'd only use that for Punisher's awkward 'Shaft' period... but he doesn't like to talk about that. -

Is that the old SY version? The one with Batgirl etc in it? That set is one of the best they've done with regards to quality of print etc even if none of them were unique figures. It really showed that with the right artwork they could produce very high quality figures. -
Is this for the Symbiote Spidey? I'm not sure about the full MRM figure anymore as they're no longer available on his eBay site. Getting the head from Firestar might be good for now at least: https://www.firestartoys.com/Shop/Minifigure-Parts/Minifigure-Custom-Design-Heads/30684-Custom-Mini-Figure-Heads-~-Spiderman-~-Black.html You can always contact him on his eBay account to see if he has one? I know a long time after him seemingly selling out of Dr Strange and Clea I managed to pick them up from him although Strange had no cape.

I must admit that my standards are very high with regards to custom minifigures so I don't like to 'settle' for something simply because it's cheap. With regards to this thread I think it would be better if it were moved to Community as it already has subject matter relating to bootleg parts. I'd definitely go for the pad printed custom route over bootleg when possible. If you're going for Marvel then definitely pick up MRM's Symbiote Spiderman as a priority if you can still pick one up. I stand by what I've said in my quoted post with regards to the others. One thing about the 2011 SDCC Batman figure is that all versions of it I've seen have had poor print... Badly aligned in parts and just general poor QC. The bootleg torso is just a clean and well printed alternative. Maybe one day if I find one at a reasonable price at the same time as having the money to spare I'll pick an original up but I'll stick with the version I have for now without too much worry. It's a rare case of a copy possibly being better than an original.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

If that's not dual moulded then they've done really well with that printing on there and the hair moulds definitely look like they're also well done. Red Hood and Deathstroke look a little iffy to me and I'm not keen on Aquaman's face design so I might want to change that out but the others look like decent efforts. -
Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

It certainly is... but I think that goes to show how many missed opportunities there have been since that point. Brickforge did a Super Soldier pack which had the helmet and shield... simply adding that bootleg torso and a pair of dark tan pants gave us a perfect first mission Captain America. Since then we've had many MANY iffy Wolverines and Spiderman. When I think about it I realise that they're just going for the lowest common denominator most of the time but there have been moments of genius along the way. I just wish they had a few more of them. -

Ha! I always try and credit you as my inspiration in these, mate. I just couldn't get the jacket to work! :) I must admit... With regards to the quality of bootleg figures over the last 6 months there's basically only been Red Tornado that has been top notch with regards to super hero figures. GL Batman from DLP was close but needed a genuine head, cowl and legs to bring it up close to TLG level. If I look back at some of the stuff we've had in the past there's been some great items. The torn brown leather jacket from SY for Captain America is perfect in design and print and no customiser has come close to it (or needs to). Some of the Lego copies continue to be good and recent SW figures from even Xinh and Dargo are largely excellent but I'd love them to give us something new. This thread started because of Decool's FF figures as they were such a popular and different option (no customiser had pad printed them at that point). I suppose I'm just a little disappointed that the quality or diversity hasn't really moved on like I hoped it would. Maybe that's because brands such as SY have gone on to clone many Lego ranges such as Ninjago and Chima to the Nth degree and also got fixated on mechs etc. S brand gave us the Falcon Commandos around a year ago... Arguably the best printed figures I've ever seen (except for the head designs) but very little since. It's great when the bootleggers kick into gear and this thread sparks to life as you never know what'll get released as anything is possible and I look out for a torso or accessory that'd be usable on a TLG quality custom and I'd just like those moments to happen a little more often as opposed to a poor Antman clone. -

I also used one of the wrestler torsos for Namor. Custom belt painted gold along with gold vambraces and painting the ears flesh on an elf hairpiece with black hair and it came out pretty good. Added in a Legolas face I think to Finish it off. Then I sold it when I started getting rid of my Marvel stuff. -
Tony's torso design and print on that figure is fantastic. Definitely one of my favourite custom designs.

Digger has reviewed the SY Iron Man set and I admit that looking at them they're a bit bland and really look like they've been knocked together in 5 minutes! -
I'd want Kilowog as a bigfig before Atrocitus but that's for another thread. Seeing a bigfig repeatedly always gives me the impression that it's on the table at Lego... that it's at least being considered somewhere down the line.

The Dargo set with Dr Fate got released a while ago didn't it? I ordered a Dr Fate on a single sale although it was pretty bad to be honest.
