What do you guys do to apply decals?
Robianco replied to PubHorn's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Waterslide paper is ultra thin so when working on a lighter torso the effect can be fantastic. A coat of clear acrylic spray to seal is a winner. -
DC Super Heroes - 76052 Batman™ Classic TV Series - Batcave

I've not had a chance to build the Batcave yet but when I do I'll put the tumbler next to it and photograph it if nobody else has. -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

Thankfully there's a good and bad traders list so you should be able to find out if someone is reliable. I've also never had a bad experience on BL either but I know other who have so maybe best to leave that there. -
4-Lom appeared as himself in a video around a year ago but there's no sign of him anywhere. I'd take appearances in these videos at face value and not automatically assume they're a sign of imminent release.

DC Super Heroes - 76052 Batman™ Classic TV Series - Batcave

This forum is certainly home to a few of those! -
I think the existing Hoth Leia is pretty much perfect except for the head change (20p on B&P) and maybe having leg print as someone has already stated. Besides that there's not much that can be changed on that figure. If Toryn Farr's legs appear on B&P then that would pretty much finish the figure off. I don't think there's any reason to pine for that figure when those two elements would update the existing version perfectly.

I'm firmly in the 'like it' camp. I already own it. I must admit that these individual threads for certain sets tend to be dumping grounds for unhappy AFOLs. I understand that's what a forum is for but I also don't really understand the need to pop into a thread just to say 'I don't like it. It's too expensive' or 'I like some of this set but it's way overpriced'. They feel like comments created just to add to post count and to ride the general mood of indignation at a certain set. There's so much to like about this set and I, for one, am happy that it's in one place rather than broken up into different sets. Maybe... just maybe, Lego didn't want another sub theme running with various sets alongside and competing for sales with the regular Superheroes line. Not when they've got Mighty Micros being launched along with the regular sets from this wave. -
Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

I've had mixed results with different brands and their hands. I seem to remember SY having decent hands though that fit Lego. Some are too thick though and will crack the arm socket. -
New Lego.com Shop Customer - Orders cancelled
Robianco replied to Distorted Vision's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Buying two of a set that has been on the shelf for a while isn't that big of a deal. It's entirely up to you if you build the sets and actually like Lego although if your interest in Lego dropped to just being a financial one then you probably wouldn't find much help on the forum pages with regards to orders made simply for resale. Buying up ALL of a limited item thus stopping normal buyers picking it up then hiking prices to create your own market value would be unfair and seriously frowned upon. If you've got a few thousand pounds spare, it's up to you how many of those sets you buy (as long as a retailer will sell you it). Not all sets shoot up in value though and I'm not entirely sure the Helicarrier will grow all that much. Tower Bridge has been around for years and is still available so how long that will take to go up in value is anyone's guess but if you've got the patience to wait and let them increase in value then fine. I'd add that your buying habits straight out of the trap must have certainly sparked some interest in their ordering system to cause an issue. By the way... one of those Lego stores you mentioned is my local Lego store so no funny business in buying up stock... -

Having a little more height is about the only thing the older sets had though. I've owned all of the Hogwarts versions and the ground floors were basically empty especially on the towers. I'm still not sure what people think they'll get with a 'UCS' Hogwarts. Diagon Alley was, according to it's set number, a UCS set but there's no height involved at all and is actually smaller than 4842 although Gringotts does fold closed to make a more complete building. I know this thread is about the possibility of us getting more HP sets but if they do make a Hogwarts then it will have some kind of mythical status until it gets revealed and people will still complain about the size, price and whether or not parts of it are similar to older releases. No matter what happens it won't be big enough. -
As another of the 'Return of Bruce Wayne' variations I'd have nothing against it. I must admit, even as an ardent fan of Batman, having the same figure in every set is a little painful but as long as they're a valid version from a good source then I'm OK with it.

I actually really like that design and it's better than I thought it would be. Pirate Batman never really existed in the way we picture it thanks to the cover of Return of Bruce Wayne but this design works for me.

I must admit I wouldn't know one constraction fig from the next but I'm sure you're right.

I know what Hink meant though. We've had a few threads that have gone south as they've just been slanging matches and the moaning does tend to drag on regarding certain sets. Something being 'controversial' though is different and I hope your video highlights that. There are different reasons for something to be controversial... such as a violent scene a set may be based on and it's suitability for release based on Lego's values. It's funny that we have maniacal serial killers such as the Joker that kids can play with and that's not considered 'controversial' but when it comes down to it we can all have a good moan at how rubbish the Golfcart of Doom was.

Agreed. It would make sense that it would be a smaller set based on the other items rather than a part of something larger. There we have it. All of the parts sourced from their sets. I'll definitely say that C is just random stuff rather than part of a set although the Millennium Falcon cockpit piece might belong to other parts in the box.

A is from the Sith Trooper v Republic Trooper set: http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Republic-Troopers-vs-Sith-Troopers-75001 Not sure about B C just seem like random parts as the long curved slope bricks don't appear with Dark Blue and Dark Grey in a single set. The other parts looks like Bionicle pieces except for the small Microfighter Millennium Falcon cockpit piece. D is a Batman Batwing Polybag: http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-Heroes-Comics-Batwing-Polybag/dp/B00IJZBHUK E looks like its part of the TIE Fighter from the Death Star set: http://thebricklife.com/wp-content/uploads/Lego-Death-Star-10188-Tie-Fighter.jpeg F is Anakin's Jedi Interceptor Polybag: http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-Star-Anakins-Interceptor-30244/dp/B00HS9CLS0

Fantastic Beasts 2018 - Speculation & Future Set Discussion
Robianco replied to Ookami's topic in LEGO Licensed
The Clock Tower, Courtyard, Wonky Bridge (that I had a Butterbeer next to only last weekend) and the greenhouses are what were really missing to make 4842/4867 more complete but that would make a huge set. -

The old sets were all designed to work together though hence Hogwarts being placed on top of the Chamber of Secrets. As a standalone set 4842 is larger than any of the previous Hogwarts sets. -
Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

I can't see a single reason to pick that set up... except maybe that particular version of Cap's helmet. -

I think we got a pretty good Hogwarts in the last wave and if you put 4842 with it's extension set of 4867 then you've got a pretty big and healthy Hogwarts set with 16 figures (I've not included the second Harry). Those two sets are bigger and more extensive than the 10217 Diagon Alley set. I've got the 4757 Hogwarts which is OK but not as good as the later version although it's a different part of the castle. I'm tempted to just sell this one on and BL the parts of the castle that are unique such as the clock dish etc. I'm not sure what people would expect with regards to a 'UCS' Hogwarts. -
Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
SY must have a ton of those Black Widow figures from their vehicle 4 pack left over. I must admit even if I was still buying Marvel stuff most of it looks pretty bad for Civil War. I do collect Cap based stuff though so I might pick up the Black Panther set and then sell Black Panther and the vehicles... either that or pick up Cap with his new head/hair and Winter Soldier on BL. -
Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
It's only the first civil war figures until the sets are actually released then we'll see every bootleg manufacturer release them. Multiple times. Then maybe the DC figures. Maybe with one new figure dropped in occasionally. -

Having some new sets based on the wizarding world would b great and I echo others here in hoping that the other houses at Hogwarts are represented in some way although I'm not sure how long Newt spends at Hogwarts during the films. I've managed to pick up all of the final two waves of HP over time and thankfully at prices that were normally less than their RRP. It would be great to make some additions to those. -
Yoda Chronicles basically gave us Momaw Nadon and the Imperial Protocol Droid and now Freemakers gives us a new Dengar. It's very possible.

[MOD] [MOC] [WIP] Carbon Freezing Chamber
Robianco replied to Richpepperell's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Love how you've added the claw section to this. A few years ago I build a very large MOC of the freeze chamber... long before joining EB... but this is much simpler, and nicer, in it's execution. I like how you've added the platform on is but I'd actually really like to see the tunnel section Luke walks through added in... even if it was only short, I think that would work great.
