  1. Just follow the instructions carefully and don't peel the sticker off completely so it can't drop and attach somewhere you don't want it to... then rub down the sticker as it sticks to the canopy with kitchen roll or a cloth of some kind and you should be fine. I'd have sent this via PM but you don't have enough posts. Sorry if that was slightly off topic.
  2. Just absolute quality. So many nice elements to the build as a whole and to each room featured. The projection room is great! I'm assuming they're showing the Lego movie on the screen? :)
  3. Smyths Toys in the UK are listing the new sets but have them only available in store but are sold out until the 10th December. http://www.smythstoys.com/LEGO-The-Hobbit-!WSCAT1250-subcat.aspx Well there goes any advantage they had...
  4. I must add that this decal is a mixture of the image supplied and the fantastic custom for sale on eBay by Muddy River Figs. The Dr Strange for sale on there along with Clara are top drawer. I'll be buying the pair very shortly!
  5. I kind of agree and disagree on the detailing. We all have emotional attachments to certain things... and those things resonate much more with us than other versions of the same item. I much prefer the old Kenner SW figures for how they make me feel when I see them but just compare the Rebel Pilot figure with those that have been released in recent years. The old one looks rubbish. I think the Jedi Luke from the Ewok Village is a great example of how Lego have pretty much aced that figure... compare it with the old version with the black torso and white wrinkly lines to give the impression of fabric. I think the new Rebel Pilot Lego figure is superb and makes the older version look extremely dated (although the version in between looked fine until I saw this version). I hope they keep the Snowspeeder pilot and X-Wing pilot different on purpose. One of my favourite figures though is Greedo. Even though he's form the time of yellow rather than flesh everything about him is just right. He doesn't need changing at all. I also like the newest Boba Fett and Dengar.
  6. I couldn't decide whether the torso was Blue or Dark Royal Blue... so I did both
  7. So much personality in such a small build! Looks great! You can really get the sense of the figs using the shed!
  8. I agree... I've seen some customs that have potential to be decent figures... ie... the subject matter is good but it's either let down by the design or the printing quality. It's why I only have customs from one or two people. It's their quality I trust. I'm both a collector and a builder... although the building side is coming along... I spent a looooooooong time in the dark ages and my childhood wasn't very Lego focused so I'm coming at this from a relatively fresh AFOL perspective. I'm thinking the poster's fears are unwarranted on this as I've said. If they look like the real thing then they probably are.
  9. Say nothing. Smile widely.
  10. Welcome from the UK!
  11. I was tempted to pick up the Sheng Yuan figures simply for the Iron Man figure and the Black Superman. I was wondering how noticeable the difference would be if using the Chinese fake torso with official Zod legs? Those angled toes on the Chinese figures are distracting!
  12. I'll get onto this in the next could of days. Do you need the face print?
  13. The shape is nailed! As much as I, and many other like the lime green, I'd love to see it in the classic red!
  14. I didn't really appreciate the scale of it until the image of the two of you standing next to it came up. Absolutely fantastic work... it looks amazing!
  15. I've not been able to get hold of any of the sets yet as I'm in the UK but I think MEA is essentially an army builder, almost by definition... so for $35 it's the kind of set people will get more than one of and mod to create a larger structure to centre a battle around. The environment has taken a clear second billing to the figures but almost universally here people stated they would get 2, 3, 4 or more of these to create their Elf Army... well that gives a lot of the right kind of pieces to modify a structure that is more suitable.
  16. I don't think it will be entirely OT but I don't think we'll see anything ROTJ related. The last waves have pretty much taken care of that. The feelings of disappointment that some have felt at certain figures missing or other features not being quite right on a PT level for these I've managed to avoid... but I'm increasingly excited about the growing prospect of some great Cloud City or Mos Eisley related material in the summer wave that if it doesn't materialise I'll feel the same way about them.
  17. That was the thing that stood out to me on this... Those beams on the ground floor of the building are quite lovely!
  18. Well seeing this thread this morning before going to the VIP event pushed me over the edge to buy this set today... and before building it I already know I want to expand it! I think I'm going to need a hearse parked up on the drive though... and a few graves dotted around! I know you've said that you don't have a huge amount of lego lying round for MOCing but I'm guessing this took quite a chunk of additional bricks and pieces?
  19. I've actually just bought this set today so I'm also very interested in whether you needed any additional bricks to create this fantastic conversion. I'm guessing by the pavement being obviously different that you didn't add too much to make it fit it? It looks superb... I've been really tempted to expand my Lego into modular recently and things like this are pushing me closer!
  20. I've looked on the Argos site and while they're listed every store I try and pick them up at comes up as no stock and you can't order them online. Looks like they're showing them but it isn't possible to actually get them from there. I'm going to keep an eye out on Tesco and John Lewis as they're probably going to be the best places to get a discount from release. If nothing is happening there then I'll go straight to the Lego store and pick them up.
  21. I don't think they had them at any UK store today... the staff at the Liverpool store said they had none in stock and had a pretty strict embargo in selling sets early. Looks like it will be next weekend then! I can wait... A week doesn't make much of a difference.
  22. I've just got back in from our event too.... PAB box for purchases over £25, 40083 Winter Truck, poster and wristband... 10% off with orders over £100 so I decided to get the Haunted House to make getting up early worth it! The person I took was looking to get some Chima stuff for his son... fortunately he didn't get the larger items as they weren't reduced and lucky for him as another toy store has 35% off them today anyway.... they also have the Attack of the Wargs for half price so I'll head up there to pick one of those up!
  23. The only thing that would stop that is that there's normal some unique printing to make the book more attractive. I'm not sure if buttoning up Hans shirt or printing brown flesh into the neck area is enough of a change. It certainly is an option though... not a bad one! Probably the one incarnation of the 'A-Team' that I didn't think of.
  24. The moulding on the outside of the building is fantastic... those upside down legs are genius! I also really like the flippers as roof tiles. Makes me wonder why you had 1000 flippers lying round! :)
  25. Argos having them now in the UK has got me really hopeful I can get them at the VIP event this Saturday. For the sake of a week anyway I'd rather pick up the VIP points on them.
