  1. The first time I saw the Tim Burton Batmobile I thought it was incredibly beautiful so I was tempted to go for that but I actually think the utilitarian design of the Tumbler beats it now... so it's 7888 for me. I actually think the 76001 Tumbler is a very poor alternative to the 7888 beast.
  2. Asda Hunts Cross has been cleaned out and nothing left there. Smyths Toys in Speke has the Attack of the Wargs back in and although it's marked as £34.99 it's actually £24.99 as stated on the website. Once you get to the till and scan it the price will show as the lower.
  3. Aren't both versions of Luke's black suit from VI already available in the Rancor Pit and Ewok Village? I'm thinking Dagobah or Poncho if I was a betting man.
  4. Unlike Rook I don't think anything Gungan should ever be made. Ever. :) The Nebulon B would be great although the scaling would be odd, as Rook said, as it's such a huge ship that even UCS would be Microscale. I would like to see some Shadows of the Empire stuff made such as a Prince Xizor figure and his ship, The Virago.... this also includes Dash Rendar and The Outrider as listed above. Zuckuss and 4-Lom to complete the Bounty Hunters.
  5. Well I've never actually bought or built a Technics set so I can't say anything from that point of view but Monster Fighters had some nice builds... especially the Haunted House.. and I like the hearse although it's hugely oversized when parked next to anything. Most of the sets are reduced now so it would probably be a good time to pick them up... except for the Zombie Cemetery... that's just going up and up after being retired very early.
  6. I think it looks beautiful. I never got a chance to buy the UCS Falcon on it's release as I was just coming out of my dark ages and didn't appreciate what you got for what seemed like a lot of money. From reading several threads it looks like BL'ing the Falcon is getting harder and more expensive so I'll be holding out for a revised version in a few years (The UCS X-Wing has given me hope). If that happens then I'm sure I'll me modding it similar to yours to get those extra greebles, pipework and plating to make it more accurate. Excellent work!
  7. Welcome!... I bet you're looking forward to Benny's Spacecraft from the Lego Movie line then?
  8. Cheers! I'll pop in tomorrow and see what they've got!
  9. Not a Super Heroes fan then? :) Welcome!
  10. If they made Ten Numb they can make Wuher, Ponda Baba and Dr Evazan! Let's not mention B'Omarr Monk, Kithaba, Ree Yees, 2-1B, Zev Zenesca or even General Riekan who all have less screen time than the cantina trio!
  11. It would hurt in the sense that it would be disappointing. I got back into Lego due to my love of Star Wars... I try and pick up as many OT sets as I can and obviously as I've only been out of the dark ages for 3 years or so I've missed many, MANY sets. I think the cycle is inevitable... it generates a collectibility for certain sets while offering an opportunity to pick a revised set up after a few years... it keeps things quite healthy and not just a secondary market of marked up sets. I don't own an AT-AT... or ISD... or a Cantina... or a system scale B-Wing so I'm very happy about the forthcoming wave... and I think they'll continue to upgrade sets for many years to come either by better building techniques, more accurate designs or simply different or upgraded minifigures. As I'm a fan of minifigures I'm all for them being upgraded and updated so add to the TLG SW line... and attract new fans to keep coming on board. If anyone is happy with what they have and feel they don't need any new figures or sets then that's great... it's all part of personal enjoyment of a hobby... but I just have to look at how Luke in his black Jedi duel robes used to look then compare it to the version in the Ewok Village and I know I'll stay interested. I know that probably means that in a few years time I too will have all the ships or places that I'd 'need' but I'd still be disappointed if it wasn't there... still offering great sets and great figures from one of the greatest pieces of popular culture ever created.
  12. If it's eight then I'd say the above but two Bith. I'd say that if they ARE to give us Bith then they'd at least put two in to encourage multiple set purchases (similar to Weathertop for LOTR having two Wraiths).
  13. I've never checked Sainsbury's for Lego... I normally find the Tesco on Park Road or Mather Avenue pretty good. All the 2014 sets that were in the Lego Store Liverpool are now in John Lewis Liverpool One but are all normal price.
  14. So the speeder is mostly red and there's definitely Ben sitting in it... the bar itself seems OK and can be easily extended so resemble MOCs of the Cantina. As much as I was really excited about having Bith band members I'm slightly more convinced that they're just placed there as holders and not as three figures of the same kind... as obvious as that seems. I really like my original Greedo and think it holds up to the current figure designs... if they take the same level of details they're doing now it should be a fantastic figure. The description on the previous site link kind of points to Ponda Baba being the point of conflict with Ben and Luke and Greedo with Han. Whether it's Dr Evazan, Wuher or Bith I don't think we lose out either way. With having an Ithorian head available adding Momaw Nadon is simple, Jawas are available... Lav Sivrak and BoShek can be made quite easily... let's just wait and see!
  15. Well after feeling the need to join EB to make 3 posts claiming Lego is dead and you won't be buying anymore simply because some minifigs aren't made the way you want them I wish you good luck and hope you find lots of nice, non-chinese plastic to buy in the future. I'm sure Lego will miss your business. I doubt very much that the plastic is rancid or toxic by the way... that's just having a rant and does nothing to help your argument.
  16. All OT SW sets released this year are a must... although I'll have to check just what's special about the Snowspeeder and what figs feature. Lake Town Chase probably although I'll BL the other figures. Any LOTR sets that come out. Hulk Lab Smash, Captain America & Hydra as well as looking at the X-Men and GOTG sets from alter this year. I may actually get round to getting my first Modular which could be a slippery slope... this all depends on space to display them.
  17. Mine was LOTR... I originally only ever intended to get some SW theme stuff... then I actually got a really cheap Helm's Deep that I was going to split and sell on... As soon as I built Theoden and saw the quality of the print on his helmet and chest piece I was hooked. Since then an interest in Batman has led to me owning quite a lot of those sets and a growing mini fig collection including some very nice customs. Basically... I think my fixation with action figures (SW) from when I was a kid has resurfaced and Lego is allowing me to live it out on a much larger scale... only now they can all sit together and have vehicles and environments to move about in. Just on the above post... I always liked the idea of Monster Fighters but didn't pick a set up until I got the Haunted House... what a great set that is... and also appeals as there's no 'yellowies' in there (I'm a fleshy kind of chap).
  18. I'm a Green Lantern fan so I'd be hoping for at least Hal Jordan. I know people have stated that GL is iffy material following the film flop but even the new Lego catalogue shows the Comic Con GL figure (as used in the movie) alongside Batman and Wonder Woman who we've already had so I only see it being a matter of time before GL is released properly. Thor with Helmet as that's how I remember him from comics would be great. I'm not fully 'comic aware' for a massive list of figures but I'd love some quality Fantastic Four, X-Men (let's see what we get later this year), Bucky Barnes and Daredevil. The set I'd love most of all would be a Hellboy series but I really think the material is too Dark for TLG to approach. A 2000AD series would be incredible also.. Imagine Dredd with the Flash style helmet? Johnny Alpha?... I think I need to stick with DC and Marvel though...
  19. Liverpool John Lewis had the Attack of the Wargs for £24.99 and had a few in but they seem to have gone now. It's now £34.99 in Smyths Speke and they had a few. Rancor Pit is £46 in John Lewis and Jabbas Sail Barge is £74.99.
  20. Hi all, Following a recent trip to my local Lego store when I was able to build 3 complete Lois Lane minifies from the recent Man of Steel sets I've been interested to hear that there's a quite a few people based in the UK who are able to find licensed items in their BAM towers. I know from visiting that at different times there can be different elements that can make up the figures available. I was wondering whether it was worth some kind of 'pooling or sources' to pick up items that could make up licensed or collectable minifigs from the towers that would make it a cheaper way for people to get these items rather than Bricklinking or eBaying them? In my local store there are torsos from Luke Celebration, Leia Ewok Village, Young Boba Fett and several Monster Fighter and CMF torsos etc as well as lots of Galaxy Squad heads etc... previously there have been Padme Geonosis Arena torso, various Spongebob items and several other licensed parts. If people do find fleshy heads or torsos or maybe different parts of licensed figures we could pool them and trade to complete figures? I know this may seem an awkward way of doing things but in the case of Leia Ewok Village it may also be a good way of getting a figure that's an exclusive to a £200 set... especially as each figure would work out at around £1.50 each I'm interested to hearing people's opinions. Cheers
  21. Han, Luke, Sandtrooper, Greedo, 3 band members and....? That description sounds like there's a lot of this set that had been missed of the side of the leaked shot! ...and reading the full description it seems Ben is there if that is anything to go by!
  22. The item is on sale at my local Lego store but I think it will be retired pretty soon. Once that happens I think you'll get the profit you're expecting.
  23. I thought I'd add some surprising items in my local store. I checked today and the torsos of Celebration Luke Skywalker and the Leia from the Ewok Village are in the Build a Figure tower. Considering that torso is unique in a £200 set I'd say that was highly unlikely!
  24. After speaking to a staff member last week at a Lego store he informed me that he's seen the Sandcrawler prelims so I'm hoping that's a given.
  25. I don't think the Snowspeeder will come with Luke and Dak as they've both appeared in sets last year and as the Snowspeeder appeared in the same set as Luke it would be a total rehash less than 12 months after them already appearing. I think with them putting out a Snowspeeder at this time along with an AT-AT it'll be Wedge and Wes Janson as they successfully brought down the AT-AT in ESB. Janson would be fantastic as he has the same helmet design as Red Twelve from the Battle of Yavin.
